The room was nicely decorated and clean. The breakfast was unbelievably good - both the buffet and the cooked to order Scottish breakfast were delicious. The staff serving the breakfast and dinner were super nice, quick and helpful.

perfect location for St Andrews. I would highly recommend booking a room with a sea view. The atmosphere in the hotel was fantastic, it’s very nicely decorated with a good balance between period and modern. The main reason for this place being so great is the team which are there to welcome, guide and help you. They are friendly with a genuine warmth and nothing is too much trouble. It was a complete pleasure to stay there.

Friendly staff starting with reception and all the way to the serving staff in the restaurant. My partner has food intolerances and when mentioned to the serving staff both at dinner and breakfast they could not have been more understanding or helpful. Lovely room with great views of Edinburgh in the distance and of course the Firth of Forth.

Dunfermline Abbey - resting place of Robert the Bruce is well worth a visit. So is the Carnegie museum - birthplace of Andrew Carnegie, once the world's richest man, and a champion of philanthropy and world peace. Pittencrieff park is lovely for a walk on a misty morning. Room very comfortable and facilities of high standard. The staff were extremely helpful. View of bridge made our stay but traffic noise was constant and may be a problem for light sleepers. The bedroom was far too bright at night. Light under desk and also by the door(probably fire escape regulations and not hotels fault).

Leven is on the train line now, about an hour from Edinburgh. It's a bit of a one-horse town with only 1 restaurant open after 8pm, apart from a 60s style steak-house. If you're vegetarian, vegan, or lactose intolerant you're going to have problems eating in the evening.
