We booked two rooms, a twin room and a double room. On getting there our double room was upgraded to what seemed to be the main bedroom in the hotel, with a king size four poster bed and beautiful decor. There was also a view from the window to the church and the stately home next door. We felt like some important people had stayed in the room before us, which given the hotel's history goes back to 1492 and the distinguished history of the village, they probably had. The twin room was also very nice, though my mother-in-law took a while took a while to get used to the sound of the macerating toilets in some rooms of the hotel which she hadn't encountered before. We had dinner in the pub restaurant which was very nice. We didn't sample the breakfast so I can't comment on that.

The Pike and Eel clearly has a history as it’s a lovely old building, but has been beautifully renovated. The staff were helpful and welcoming and the setting was just gorgeous with views of the river. Delicious, generous, breakfast.

Huntingdon has a lovely little Saturday market with vegan options, there are plenty of shops to walk around and all the usual outlets eg B&Q, Dunhelm, Pets at Home -very useful for us a few mins by car. There is a park in the centre of the town and a dog walking area. I think it is quite flat, no hills, so walking is not a problem and there is a good pedestrian area with lots of cafes in which to sit and watch the world go by. It is 8+ miles to St Neots, a beautiful little town with the river running through it. Perfect for a visit.

A very comfy stylish hotel & we're already thinking of coming back. The room was good & there was a 'welcome' note from the housekeeping team. There was a bath n(complete with rubber duck) as well as the usual shower.

Gone down-hill in the last few years and no decent shops. As with most small towns, completely overtaken with charity shops, vape shops and barbers.....a real shame as we used to love a stroll into the town

Clean. Spacious room overlooking barley fields. Friendly staff and a tasty breakfast buffet that was all a traveller would need. Excellent value and good to know the Old Great North Road =B1043 which is clue how to get there! We ate authentic Indian cuisine at the Resto next door and took good Value diesel at the 24/7 pumps also next door.

We liked the spacious accommodation, it's cleanliness and situation, its modern kitchen and eqipment. Ideal for a short stay. The addition of a freezer would have been appreciated. All in all this was very good value for money in a well maintained property.

Reception and booking in was very pleasant and efficient.

Reception and booking in was very pleasant and efficient. The room was warm. The bar and evening meal staff were great. The evening meals were really good and they had a nice beer on draught. The shower was too hot or cold; no in-between. The walls are paper thin, meaning I could hear phone calls, taps and toilet visits of next door rooms during the night. Windows and curtains are basic, so I heard people walking past from early morning. Breakfast was lovely.

Both the pub and the above rooms are brand new, spacious and created using the iconic British interior design. Large bathroom with a bath tub and shower very practical, bright and comfortable. The room has everything you need even an iron board and a super coffee machine. The bed is large and the matrass was brand new when I stayed there and I slept very deeply after a good warm bath.. I will definitely recommend it!

A sleepy, tiny "one pub" village deep in rural Cambridgeshire. Ideal if you just want to chill-out with a pint in the Stag pub (doesn't open on Sundays). There's no other shops there.
