Lovely place, furnished to a high standard. Spotlessly clean. Beautiful views of Loch Scridain right across the street. Almost dark sky—we could see the Milky Way! Convenient to have the Clansman Restaurant attached. Breakfast option: DIY for £6, set up in the dining room the night before. Bread for the toaster, cereals, yogurt, Baby Bel cheese in the fridge, tea, coffee. For £25/two you could have all this plus a picnic hamper of rolls, smoked salmon, biscuits, crisps and plenty more.

We booked four rooms in total as we were travelling with family. The rooms were clean and comfortable. My husband and I were in a seaview suite (number 7) and absolutely loved the feel of the room. The food left was great - the buns, cold cuts, cheese, crackers, granola, milk, oj, bubbly etc. Really appreciated the bubbly :). Every room was stocked as well as ours and each had their own personality. We did not end up using the honesty bar as we brought our own wine however the back sitting room was great. The whole family was able to unwind in that lovely back room and relax with the windows open letting in the sea air while we played some board games, shared some wine etc. The board games are a very nice addition. The town center is down quite a steep hill - my mom made it (she is 78) but as we had her and our grandson (9 months) with us we took a taxi back. Call Mull Taxi - they were great! All in all a great stay. We didn't see the house rules at first and started firing questions out to the info email and the response time was phenomenal - for anyone reading this review they leave the house rules and handy tips doc on the bed :).

Breathtakingly beautiful on arrival with stunning views and 5,000 acres of incredible views in all directions. Inside was an adventure with lots to explore - large bedrooms, 3 living/sitting rooms (one accessed via steps up a castle turret!), huge bathroom with good shower and free-standing bath positioned for awesome views out over the fields towards the sea (admittedly not used because we’ve been having too much fun during daylong hours) well equipped kitchen and, a bit blowy at this time of year but access to the rooftop as well (further up the turret!!). Inside the castle it’s full of character and charm including dreamy log fires in the main living room every night. Outside are fantastic walks through beautiful wild surroundings, peppered with wildlife including highland cows! Our stay will live long in the memory and we won’t hesitate to return if we come back to Mull in the future. A big thank you to the lovely owners, particularly rescuing us on the first night with an extra pack of firelighters when I botched my first attempt to get the log fire going! :)

The location of the hotel was perfect. Very close to Calgary beach. In the hotel there is a bar and a restaurant where also breakfast will be served. They serve a cooked breakfast, which is really nice. I would also recommend to have dinner at the restaurant, this is really good too. The staff was very helpful and friendly. For a next visit I would definitely book a room again!

Picturesque fishing town definitely worth a visit.

Picturesque fishing town definitely worth a visit. Access from the ferry port is via narrow roads with passing places. Numerous walks especially enjoyed the trail to the lighthouse. Distillery and cheese factory are a must. Good restaurant and art at the gallery on the seafront

Whilst Pennygate Lodge is a lovely guest house we found...

Whilst Pennygate Lodge is a lovely guest house we found Craignure a very drab functional place. We might have been better staying in Tobermory though the available accommodation there was not as good. Two storms approaching from the west starting with torrential rain did not help make our visit to Craignure very pleasant. Close to ferry of course which is a positive. However nearby Duart Castle well worth a visit.

What a fabulous location and not only a well appointed pod...

What a fabulous location and not only a well appointed pod but the camp site had everything. The Inn was great with fabulous food and a very friendly staff. The access arrangements for the pod were clear and very well communicated in a timely fashion. The pod itself was very well appointed with a surprising amount of amenities available, clearly very well thought out. Highly recommended.

Quiet peaceful area.

Quiet peaceful area. Nothing I found made me dislike the area. Duart Castle, home of the Clan MacLean, is nearby and well worth a visit. It is on the way to Fionnphort and the ferry to Iona. If you are interested, you could Fionnphort is one location for cruises to Staffa and the Treshnish Isles. I have added a photo of Staffa from the boat, from the island and the path tp Fingals Cave. I have also added a photo Of Iona Abbey. A lovely peaceful island witha n atmosphere all of its own.

Scenery, wildlife, history in abundance - absolutely breath taking. No cars allowed so be prepared to walk everywhere (there are some bikes that can be hired at the Spar shop). There is a very good café selling hot food / home-baking / teas & coffee but closes at 5.00 pm so if your staying over need to book a table at either of the two hotels on the island. Good food but a little expensive.

It was easy to cycle to the ferry for Iona and we were also able to travel around the island by car, but the roads can be tricky if it is busy. We also had a problem with sea water coming over the road on one occasion

Beautiful, quiet place with happy people. The restaurants are very good as well. Be prepared for hills, though, unless your accommodation is on the main street. My daughter and I had really good walks there. There were all sorts of ages visiting.

Craignure is beautiful even in poorer weather.

Craignure is beautiful even in poorer weather. If planning to eat out of an evening this would be best booked in advance as there was only one pub serving food near the ferry terminal and they stopped serving at 8pm.

Lovely, clean and comfy pod.

Lovely, clean and comfy pod. It has everything you need for a luxury camping experience. Good shower. Amazing views in an idillic setting. Sunsets were stunning! Parking is not beside your pod though so consider the walk up a relatively steep path.
