Superb, traditional hotel with excellent service. All the staff were polite & helpful - especially the assistant manager. Our room (number 11) was very clean - so too was the ensuite bathroom - albeit a bit small but that didnt bother us as we didnt spend much time in there! It was a real treat to have breakfast served to us - rather than the usual hotel buffet - so our food was cooked fresh to order & hot when served to our table- oh & there's an excellent choice of dishes for breakfast too. We didnt take dinner at the hotel but the menu looked excellent with lots of choice - inc a vegetarian option every night too. If you're looking for a hotel with traditional values & excellent service you'll not be disappointed.

Breakfast was included and exceptional. Dinner was an excellent set menu choice and great value. The wine list is good and not over priced. I stayed twice in one week in two different rooms. Both were very comfortable and quiet with very good in-room facilities and newly renovated bathrooms.

The location is beautiful.

The location is beautiful. The beach is only a couple of minutes away, and the local area is lovely everyone I spoke with in the local shops was so nice and friendly. Finally, the breakfast in local place was great, and I was thrilled to discover they even serve matcha! That attention to detail was the perfect bonus. I will definitely be back to stay here again and highly recommend this place

We love Exmouth and go on an annual basis.

We love Exmouth and go on an annual basis. The sea front is brilliant , a long 2 mile sandy beach , with thoughtful construction , offering good amenities for both adults and children. Would be good to have another loo block. Some great cafes - esprecially the Italian. We always go on the train from Exmouth to Teignmouth, Dawlish Warren which is very good value for money - beautiful scenery of the estuary.

Wasn't sure what to expect but have to say Dorchester wasn't very inspiring as towns go. Two railway stations, both a fair walk from the main town streets. There's a museum and gallery but it was £15 to get in so I didn't bother. Not very exciting shops, I believe there's probably an out of town retail park but hard to access if you don't have a car.

Quaint place with charm and character set amongst steep hills . Pebbly beach extends from the centre towards the working harbour with a promenade between the two can be walked in ten minutes. View point a short distance to the east of the centre gives views around Lyme Bay Lots of choices for evening dining , including some dog friendly places such as The Pilot Boat, where we ate. That and other places serve beers from Palmers Brewery. Palmers 200 can’t be bettered .

Sidmouth is a charming seaside town with independent and chain stores. The area is flat and the prom good for a walk with a path up to the gardens where there is a lovely cafe. There are pubs and restaurants for food though the menus were all very similar and not very exciting. We ate twice in Roma and the food was really good and the service great and all at reasonable prices.

Portland is a lovely location set a short distance away from the hustle and bustle of Weymouth. There is plenty to do and see in and around Portland, although it is easier to do these things eg; Portland Bill when you have access to your own transport. We absolutely would recommend dining at Crab House Cafe which is set near the end of the causeway before reaching Weymouth itself, and there is a quirky place called White Stones Gallery and Cafe in Easton, which has lots of local art on display amidst the tables customers eat at. There is also a fantastic area outside. Lovely garden with more artwork and tables spread about outside. We also dined as non residents at the Portland Heights Hotel which is another good dining experience with the added delight weather permitting of watching the sun setting, and of the wonderful view of Chesil Beach in its full glory.
