I had a really lovely stay at Magpies. Everyone was so kind and welcoming - I felt really at home. The room was clean, comfortable, and beautiful - with a great bath, much needed after a day’s cycling! I ate in the restaurant - and the food was excellent, really excellent. What a great place, and what lovely people!

The castle is a wonder, so much to see and learn about.

The castle is a wonder, so much to see and learn about. The walk around the castle walls especially give you a great view of the city. You could look around the prison cells and watch videos of people who were imprisoned there. Also the Magna Carta was on view. A very interesting place to visit and to walk around the grounds. The cathedral is also a lovely place to look around. Steep Hill has some quaint shops and places to buy afternoon tea and many other foods. Beware its a long steep walk on the way back up! We only had a day there but enjoyed every moment.

A town full of history and charm, with some amazing countryside in the surrounding area, including the historic city of Lincoln, and also Boston, whence the pilgrim fathers set sail for New England, as they called it, during the early years of the 17th century.

Boston has an amazing history with lot's of historic period...

Boston has an amazing history with lot's of historic period buildings. Unfortunately it is now full of young asylum seeking men hanging about in the centre of town. Lot's of the decent shops and many of the pubs have closed down. Such a shame because it could once again be beautiful ! Clear out the asylum seekers, create a sense of community and pump some investment back into the city !

A beautiful town - lovely architecture, which if that is what you are looking for you will get it in good measure. Small centre which is easy to walk round - lots of excellent restaurants and cafes catering for most tastes plus very nice (though expensive) shops, and some superb charity shops (always a bonus!) Some good concerts at the Stamford Arts Centre, plus picture gallery. Lovely picturesque river side. Great antique shop in St Martins. As it lies somewhat to the eastern side of England the weather tends to be reasonably mild. It must rain but in the many times we have visited I only remember it raining once!

I grew up in Woodhall Spa and returned for a friends funeral. Although the village has grown I still look at it as my home. I still have many friends there and it is always nice to see them. I travel with my campervan but wanted a hotel for this visit. The character of the village has never changed and always well worth a visit. Unfortunately the hotel I choose did not come up to the standard that I would have expected for the price charged.

I hadn't been to Lincoln before and was really looking forward to seeing the Cathedral, Castle, narrow streets with interesting shops, and finding out about the history. I was not disappointed and could easily have spent more time here. Two days was not enough. The guided tour of the Cathedral is definitely worth doing and the Castle Wall Walk affords great views. Great eateries as well. I would particularly recommend Ole Ole Tapas and the White Horse pub for their fantastic Sunday lunch.
