Room on the ground floor were easy accessible. Enough space inside the room and has all the amenities needed. Staff were friendly and helpful. The parking facilities are excellent and is free to park your car for the duration of your stay. The hotel is well located in Ullapool and walking distance from restaurants and the waterfront. We would definitely stay here again.

We were there to break a long journey north. Great stopping off point as it has a petrol station and shops. Very picturesque village. It has a supermarket too. But a lovely peaceful vibe about it. Would be happy to stay again.

Thurso still feels a generally friendly town.

Thurso still feels a generally friendly town. The Visitors Centre was excellent, very helpful friendly staff, with advice, directions and postcards. The beach is lovely, and the castle very picturesque, though I have no idea if you can go round it as it is on the opposite side of a long inlet and I wasn't about to walk all the way round there on the off-chance. Good amount of shops, and seemingly banks still in the town. YNot offers expensive but good quality food. If you want a walk, or have a car, the Ferry Inn in Scrabster is a great place to eat too.

Dornoch surprised us with its beauty - a thriving little town with lovely little shops and obviously proud of its local history. Well-kept and clean it was a pleasure to walk around. The museum is excellent - well laid out presentations on different aspects and characters of the town's past and some interesting videos. The beach is beautiful too and well worth a visit. Plenty of choice for where to eat. We had an excellent dinner at The Eagle and lunch next day at the lovely Sandstone Cafe. Highly recommend both.

I was visiting family so didn't need to find much to do to entertain myself. There are a couple of supermarkets in Tain & glass blowing factory. Lots of distilleries around if that's what your interested in. I did drive to Inverness for a shopping trip.

The surrounding area is beautiful and well worth exploring.

The surrounding area is beautiful and well worth exploring. Rogie falls, the Touchstone Maze, Fyrish Monument and hill walk are all very close. The old train station of Strathpeffer is worth a look and there is also castle Leod, the seat of the Mackenzie clan which inspired the author of Outlander when writing her books, but check the website as it is only open certain days of the year. Dingwall is a good base when exploring other small towns also. It sit near a river which provides beautiful sunrises and views of the geese flying overhead

We only spent an hour there on a Sunday so it was difficult to judge as very few things were open. I would suggest that there are nicer towns nearby. However, there is a petrol station and an art gallery plus a little supermarket. The little Natal garden is sweet and it is possible to walk along a promenade near the water.

Strathpeffer is a very attractive small Scottish village.

Strathpeffer is a very attractive small Scottish village. For the size of the village it has four perhaps five good places to eat. Numerous old trees included a couple of giant redwoods usually found in America. Very relaxing place to spend a few days. It's also is a good touring base allowing you to go North, South, East and West.
