The staff was very helpful and diligent during my whole stay. The bar a restaurant were right downstairs and they both were cozy and and a great experience. The food and service were exceptional and they had a great variety of wine, beer, and liquor to choose from. I came for a relaxing trip so I could unwind and write, and I was able to do just that. Not to mention it was right across the street from the train station so transportation was a breeze. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.

I loved that there were small kits for travelers in the room such as a shaving kit. a sewing kit and so on.
Overall, It feels like the host was thinking about every small detail to make our stay as best as possible.

Great place to take a break when you are visiting the Highlands and Islands! Mallaig is a port town and a gateway to do many other places. The accommodation at An Bothan was excellent. Home from home with so many special touches from the owners to make the stay even more comfortable. We would highly recommend it if you are looking for a short or longer stay in Mallaig.

Location is about 2.5 miles out of Morar.
Morar is a lovely wee village. No shops only the Hotel which in our opinion was poor standards. That said we were there in November out of season . However for the price we would have expected better service and quality. Mallaig is lovely as is the surrounding area.
We wont be back , sadly the hotel experience spoiled a very special birthday.

Very convenient for getting out to the highlands, a bit of a walk from Fort William town but walking is what you go there for, Ben Nevis is about a mile from Inverlochy and thats what counts,,,
Try the Locky pub for good pub grub, massive platefuls and good wine, at reasonable prices,

Overall the house was fine but pity about state of property next door - quite offputting when first arriving.
House relatively clean but could have been better. Rooms were a good size.
Two adults felt the mattresses should be replaced.
It would not take much TLC to lift the property - e.g. some painting, fixing gutter, improve back garden, fix bathroom tap, better cutlery, more informed Visitor pack.
Overall, think it is best suited for climbers, walkers.

Arisaig is a small pretty village which is close enough to the Mallaig - Skye ferry to make it an ideal spot to stop before or after a trip to Skye. We had a great dinner at the Arisaig Hotel and would highly recommend it (food was great and service was friendly; would suggest booking a table ahead).

The “Cabin food stop”for breakfast was exceptional .on the main drag. It’s a steel container off the roadside. Great value.
Little night life but Fort William is only 3 miles away.
You can see the Hogwarts express ( the Jacobite steam train ),up close in several spots ,especially the entrance bridge at loch linne holiday park ,where it passes under it.
Corpach is really a stop off point for your trip.

We did wish that we could have stayed longer in Banavie and we would certainly come back to explore more of the area especially if visiting Ben Nevis. Neptune's staircase was an unexpected pleasure and it was so picturesque. We viewed this from 'The Moorings hotel' where we also had a lovely meal. Will definitely return.

For the purpose of my visit, Fort William was central to the areas that I was requiring to go to.
Within the town there was plenty of choice for dining and shopping facilities if required.
For those who wish to visit local landmarks, such as the Glenfinnan viaduct, and monument, or the Commando Memorial at Spean Bridge, or for the more adventurous hill walking around Glencoe, Fort William should be considered as a base to make your plans.

Small town with some good restaurants but limited entertainment.
Worth a couple of nights or longer if using it as a base.
Try The Bakehouse and The Crab and Creel.
Don't park for more than an hour outside the Co-Op
