The hotel was tastefully designed, the room has everything you need! The staff was wonderful, going the extra mile to guide and help me. As someone who visits Edinburgh for the first time, I had a great impression of the city and will definitely come back to this hotel if I’m visiting Edinburgh again! 😊

Absolutely love the decor and standard of furniture, fixtures and fitting of this beautifully refurbished Georgian house. Extremely well decorated and furnished, spacious, with a large bar area, large restaurant with linen tablecloths, and a separate dining area for four-legged friends. Good to know that pets are welcome and are catered for, but those without pets can dine in a separate area. Bedroom (No. 7) was beautifully furnished, spacious with very comfy super king size bed and lovely walk-in shower room with a hot powerful shower. We didn't dine in the restaurant in the evening but we both had a scrumptious breakfast in the morning. Most importantly, the staff were very friendly, efficient and attentive. Finally, the price for B&B for two was very reasonable. What's not to like ??? Highly recommended !!!

Basically everything! Pleasantly, we were upgraded upon arrival to a wonderful, spacious, light and comfortable room. Staff were very attentive, showed us through the hotel’s lovely facilities and booked us into the restaurant where we had an amazing evening meal. This hotel is in a great location and the staff are friendly and helpful. Champagne at breakfast is an added bonus and a great way to start the day. It was my husband's birthday and a beautiful birthday balloon and card were in our room for him with a card from the hotel and a complimentary glass of bubbles at the bar. Lovely touch would throughly recommend a stay at this hotel when visiting Edinburgh

FAQs about hotels in Scotland

A Rugged Jewel

With round-top mountains and green hills extending in almost every direction, and stone houses dotted around, Scotland is a jewel of nature forged by ice, winds and seas over thousands of years. But Scotland is much more than beautiful landscapes: it’s the finest malt whiskies in Moray County, the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, the kilts and the bagpipes, the exciting and modern Glasgow, and much more!

The country can be divided into 3 areas. The Highlands and Islands have mountainous landscapes and numerous bodies of fresh water, including Loch Lomond and Loch Ness, as well as little cities like Inverness and numerous islands like the Isle of Skye. Don’t miss the deals on Booking.com if you’re looking for hotels in the Scottish Highlands.

The Central Lowlands are the most densely inhabited area, and with Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen located in this part of Scotland, 5-star hotels are common here.

The Southern Uplands are composed of a range of hills and valleys stretching almost 200 kilometres, home to several hotels with a spa - a relaxed option to enjoy this area.

As some of the more unusual Scotland hotels, castles can be a particularly good option to enjoy a Scotland holiday in royal style.

In my view, with Drimsynie, Lochgoilhead is the best wee village in the World (I live in Greece, which has some cracking wee villages, and I have travelled a fair bit)! Drimsynie is an excellent place to go to for a long weekend or a longer holiday, with or without kids. Adults and kids of all ages will love it! There is so much to do and the staff are always willing to help! The surrounding scenery is breathtaking and whether you are golfing, walking, or sailing, you cannot help but be taking in by the majestic scene that is Lochgoil / Lochgoilhead, and the surrounding hills. As a holiday destination, Drimsynie is an ideal place for both active and relaxing holidays! We stayed in the hotel this time but I have also stayed in one of the lodges, and I would recommend both! This is a gem of a hotel and holiday destination!!

I absolutely fell in love with Edinburgh.

I absolutely fell in love with Edinburgh. I stayed for 4 nights and 5 days, and although my schedule was packed every single day, I still feel the need to come back to see everything. I was mesmerized by the city's historical architecture. In particular, Dean Village made me feel like I was stepping into a fairytale.

Glasgow is a fantastic vibrant city to enjoy. Please don't use booking.com Or ibis hotel group. If you cancel you cancel you hotel 5 days prior, have email confirmation from hotel via email of a cancellation. You may be still charged, like I was, then the process of trying "to OBTAIN" your own money back, with no apology for doing so, . Glasgow is a fabulous city, fully of diversity in living, culture, historic and cutting edge idea's. Food, things to do, leisure, arts, science and many more are in abundance. Our first visit to Oban and we'll certainly be back.

Our first visit to Oban and we'll certainly be back. There are a huge choice of hotels (avoid The Columba) to suit all tastes and budgets and a great variety of excellent places to eat. We visited McCaig's Tower from where you get breath taking views of the town and the waters and islands beyond. The small but very informative War Museums is also well worth a visit. We took a ferry to the Isle of Mull and then the bus to Tobermory, but would probably take our car across next time so we could explore a bit more.
