I had the absolute pleasure of staying at The Running Horse hotel in Mickleham, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, I was met with a warm and genuine welcome that instantly made me feel at home. The staff at The Running Horse truly set this establishment apart. Their friendliness and attentiveness were second to none. It's rare to encounter a team so dedicated to ensuring every guest feels comfortable and well taken care of. Whether it was recommendations for local attractions or just a friendly chat, their genuine warmth made the stay all the more special. The comfort of the beds was unparalleled. After a long day of exploring the charming surroundings, sinking into the plush bedding was a dream come true. It's evident that the hotel places a high priority on providing a restful and rejuvenating sleep experience. Now, let's talk about the food. "Amazing" doesn't even begin to describe it. The staff member was most welcoming when I arrived reminding me that my breakfast was included in the price I paid. I'm Coeliac and he was most accommodating explaining which menu options for both breakfast and dinner would be suitable for me. The chef was also on hand to confirm everything. They even had a dedicated gluten free deep fryer. Dinner was a really tasty tender bavette steak. Breakfast was really delicious and the staff member explained that I could choose absolutely anything on the menu so (since I'd just returned from a run up to Leith Hill Tower and back) I mixed a few things around from a few different choices. The cappuccino he made me was simply divine - a double shot was not too much to ask for and not only did he offer me another one, but (literally) topped it off with quality hand-grated dark chocolate on the top.

Room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. We ate lunch and breakfast, both were lovely. staff were very friendly and accommodating, even checked us in early as room was ready.

Loved my stay. Felt so relaxed and like a home away from home. The food was also exceptional. Such a family vibe as well, even dogs welcome! I will definitely be back.
