First and foremost the grounds and hotel itself is fantastic. The staff are amazing, so pleasant, happy and very accommodating.. We were staying here to attend a family funeral locally and didn't want to be in the city centre. We are so glad we booked this hotel. A special shout out to Hannah who serves the brekfast, the lovley lady on reception (sorry don't know your name) who offered me an umbrella on the morning of the funeral. The waiter who also served brekfast and was so polite. The brekfast was also absolutely lovley.and cooked to perfection, thanks to the chef! The room was lovley and immaculately clean, thanks to the cleaning staff. This should not be a 3 star hotel. We have stayed in 5 star hotels around the world that haven't been as nice and as accommodating as this hotel. Well done Manor Parc on providing a fantastic service. We would definitely stay here again.

FAQs about hotels in Wales

Land of the Hills and the Dales

A land of magnificent mountains, centuries-old castles and beautiful beaches, Wales is steeped in proud tradition. A centre of culture, its elegant capital Cardiff houses some of the 5-star hotels in Wales on Booking.com.

Swansea has several Wales hotels with swimming pools and is the gateway to the tranquil Gower Peninsula. It was also the birthplace of Dylan Thomas, whose famous boathouse is in Laugharne near the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

Within this park are St Davids, the UK’s smallest city, and the colourful South Wales beach resort of Tenby. Other beach resorts include the university town of Aberystwyth, Barmouth and Prestatyn with its Blue-Flag beach. Popular Llandudno has a long pier sheltered by a headland.

Also with a pier is Bangor, opposite Anglesey - a rugged island known for wildlife. It looks back towards Snowdonia National Park, whose changing landscapes encompass Wales’ tallest mountain. Within the park are serene Bala Lake and Betws-y-Coed whose fast-flowing river becomes the Swallow Falls.

The Brecon Beacons house more lush peaks, while Chepstow to the south-east has a racecourse and riverfront Norman castle. Other fantastic Wales castles are in Conwy, Harlech and Caernarfon – possibly the best of them all.

Wrexham is the largest North Wales town with great nightlife, while nearby Llangollen is best known as for its International Eisteddfod.

Unfortunately it was a bad day to travel by train.

Unfortunately it was a bad day to travel by train. We arrived 3.5 hours late due to cancelled trains and diversions. Sadly we lost time to explore the city properly and it was pouring down. It was a treat to discover the Vivienne Westwood store! Out of my budget but a great to see all the iconic clothes. The Castle Arcade looked stunning with the Christmas lights and we really enjoyed the ambiance in the Rum&Fizz bar. We ate at The Ivy Asia as they had a set menu for £19.95 before 5pm. Food was great, decor was stunning. We went to a concert at the Utilita Arena, well organised but expensive drinks and not great acoustics unfortunately. Sadly we had to get a morning train home so still couldn’t do any shopping as the stores don’t open until 9.30. We’d really like to return to Cardiff at some point to explore a bit more

Clean and friendly sea side holiday location. Excellent transport links if you use public transport. Lots to do for both families and solo travellers, especially if you like watching wildlife. Scenery is outstanding, and nearby areas are full of nature interest and local history. Prices reasonable.

We went to see a show at the arena. Our excellent hotel, The Georgian, was in easy walking distance and we felt very safe, even at night. We treated ourselves to a delicious meal at Altitude28 Restaurant & Sky Bar - which I can highly recommend - located at the top of a high tower just a few minutes walk beyond the arena. The views were great and the food was exceptional.

There is enough to do for a few days out of season and it is an interesting place. Some parts of the town are tired but it was a lot better than many seaside towns. Beautiful historical walled town, with everything in a condensed area, in walkable distance. Still uncommercialised and quite untouched, which makes it exceptional. Transport to other areas by train is in walking distance, hop on, hop off bus comes from Llandudno, and is a great way to see a bit more. Great places to eat drink and visit - Liverpool Arms, Albion Arms - 2 great pubs, The Mulberry and Alfredos are great for food, Fishermans Chip Shot for a takeaway. Plas Mwa, Castle, and Castle Walls were great places to visit. We will definitively be back. We ❤️ Conwy

Carmarthen itself I love, although there's been a lot of changes since I last came down 25 years ago(which is to be expected!). It's still an interesting town centre with a great variety of shops while still retaining a lot of its character and history through it's architecture and inhabitants. The Carmarthenshire countryside is stunning!
