This accommodation was beautiful and in a lovely setting. This was an excellent hotel with high quality meals and facilities. A lovely breakfast was included, and the hotel had a wonderful large country home feel with long fires and beautiful decor. There is a separate cafe opened during the day and the property is adjacent to a lovely country walk and gardens. There was access to sitting areas and a sitting room as well as lovely outdoor areas. There was plenty of parking.

Located in the heart of historic Arundel and the perfect position to explore the town. Greeted warmly by Maggie upon arrival and throughout our stay. Our room was very clean, comfortable and cosy and we found everything we needed. Excellent bed and we both slept very well. We will not hesitate to stay here again when next in the area.

Everything was great. We had dinner - lots of choice, delicious food & nice staff. The house-brewed red beer is divine! Our room had a small balcony which we unfortunately couldn't use on a wet January night. The room itself was very comfortable with a lovely bathroom. The hotel is quirky but we enjoyed our stay immensely. Great value for money.

This was our third overnight stay at this hotel. Very usefully located for Gatwick airport flights, good bar food, comfortable rooms, etc. This stay was exceptional because of the absolutely brilliantly helpful reception staff. We arrived at the hotel and our car which had been acting up on the short drive from the long stay carpark - in this case a six week stay - became pretty much undrivable. Two ladies came out to help us with the car and found us a place to park where an AA van could access it. All the other staff were also friendly and welcoming.

Loved the vibes with independent coffee shops and a quiet atmosphere. The streets were clean. It has a Waitrose AND a Lidl...can't be bad! Plenty of free street parking. There is a great music venue called The Factory Live! Had breakfast in very friendly place - £5.50 for a coffee and lovely croissant. Great fish and chips - looked family run.

A very pretty country town dominated by a magnificent castle and beautiful old buildings; a museum, the WWT Wetlands Centre; a lake; independent shops; lots of antique shops to suit every pocket which we thoroughly enjoyed mooching around; a huge selection of cafes and restaurants (We had a birthday supper at The Parsons Table - delicious!) and endless possibilities for walks along the river and in the surrounding countryside (South Downs).

We have known the town of East Grindstead of many years having grown up in a village very close by and attending school there. In our opinion, it is not as nice as it was, we moved away some 10 years ago to escape the never ending urban sprawl, high street decline, and neon monstrosities built after demolishing irreplaceable period buildings. That said, there isn't really a lot to do, and is best summed up as a stop over for Gatwick Airport, a shame really as we have many fond memories.

we only went to the hickstead showground but near to hotel is a burger king but we ate at the hotel. food at hickstead was lovely and was served from 5pm to 9pm. pedestrian access to the hickstead showground is a bit odd and could be easily missed, you first pass lot of locked gates on the main busy road, they say Breen Equestrian on them then another plain black gate and you can see showground beyond it then its a narrow short rough path looks like just cut through some hedges but thats the way in for pedestrians. Walkable from hickstead hotel.

Littlehampton was easy for us to get around by foot. Loved the Flint stone buildings. Waterfront was a lovely walk with a great restaurant where we had morning tea with lovely gluten free choices. Also a great Italian restaurant in town. The beach huts are very cute & remind us of Melbourne. Littlehampton is a great place to visit with plenty to see.
