United Arab EmiratesThis was by far our favourite stay during our winter break. Sadly it was for one night only but it was most definitely 'the full monty'! Great location and stunning views of the lake from most of the tastfully furnished public rooms. The staff are superb, perfect mix of professionalism matched with a warm, genuine personal service. Welcome glass of bubbles and a brief tour of the reception hall and lounge areas was a lovely touch before being shown to our room. There were real fires in most of the lounges which added a lovely, homely feeling. Our Room had everything you could wish for with quality fittings, great amenities and a super comfy bed. Dinner in the main restaurant was enjoyable with friendly, efficient staff. Steak had to be re cooked as came out very undercooked but this was rectified without any issue and service recovery was excellent. Dessert was on the house! Breakfast next morning was also very good although they did run out of some danish pastries and we were not the last guests to be seated.

The hotel manager Morgan really demonstrated exemplary hospitality. He personally drove us out of a storm to the hotel when the trains shut down and the taxis in the vicinity were not in service. He also upgraded our room when the storm affected WiFi in some parts of our hotel and saw to it that we were comfortable and cosy. 10/10 hospitality, and by far the absolute best travel experiences with a Hotel we've had and could've asked for (and it isn't even close!). Choose Beech Hill Hotel and Spa if you're in the vicinity. You'll be well taken care of : )

Great location, just on the outskirts of town, but walkable. Room was a good size, bed was very comfy. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and well presented. Staff very friendly. Bar prices very reasonable. Easy check in with a pre-check in service sent by email the day before we arrived.

The spa and pool area was very relaxing and enjoyable. Service at the breakfast was exceptional and very delcious food. The location was beautiful and no complaints from us. Lounge areas were beautiful overlooking the lake.

We had an excellent room with outside balcony overlooking the lake, we enjoyed breakfast and has diner twice.
Best location for our activities, sufficient parking, friendly staff. I definitely would come back here.

The area was mostly fine.
The area was mostly fine. In some areas the town was looking tired. Absence of any visible street cleaning. We must have passed an area where someone had let their dog foul the pavement at least eight times as we walked up and down to our guest house and back down towards the lake
I know it’s individual dog owners where the responsibility lies but even so it’s a big tourist area
So one would expect a bit more pride in the area
Unfortunately we won’t be rushing back to visit

We visited the lake and went on the boat trip. It is the 3 rd time I have been here but the last visit was 10 years ago, so much has changed and there is now not as much to see on that same boat trip. Such a shame.
We ate in a local cafe or rather my husband did. He loved the cafe just off the boat that sold home made massive millionaires shortbread, the highlight of his day hahah this cafe was at the opposite end of the lake from the main side of the lake.

Ambleside is a beautiful place and we cannot wait to visit again. There are plenty of independent shops and eating places. We ate at Dodds which was really good and would definitely recommend. Walking around Ambleside on an evening felt extremely safe. Also traffic appeared to flow very well, although it is worth noting that there is a one way system in place.

We used the car ferry as a passenger was cheaper than the other small boats . The mountain goat buses were great aswell. Would recommend to book your evening meals at pubs in advance to your stay aswell.

Excellent location for the frequent Lakeland buses which meant we could bus to one place, walk over the hills or catch a boat, and catch a different bus back. No parking worries.

Fantastic stay as a last minute decision for our family of 5 and the dog.
Friendly welcome and freshly cleaned pod on arrival.
Spacious enough for us all - even my 6ft4 husband slept well.
Pods heated up quickly and held the heat nicely through the night.
Toilets and showers were clean and had hooks on the doors for keeping clothes dry etc.
We didn’t use the kitchen area but it was clean and spacious.
Games room had plenty of seating and a table tennis table but no rackets or ball unfortunately.
The campfire area was loved by our children in the evening.
Enough parking space and close to lots of local walks and experiences.
There were bikes on site that could be hired which would be a great family activity but I’m not sure on the pricing.

Easy walking area from the hamlet and access to more challenging walking not far away. Away from the tourist traps of the Lake District.
Would recommend eating at The Hare and Hounds for upmarket gastro pub food. The Masons Arms also serves good pub food. The Punchbowl at Crosthwaite is a 10 min drive away and is a very good restaurant

The Bothy was very comfortable with a lovely big bed it got nice a hot with the wood burner fire and the hot tub was amazing Rob and Sarah was very helpful and told us What we needed to know The location was very good With 2 very friendly pubs And Nice places to walk with the dog
