United KingdomWe enjoyed our stay from start to finish. We loved our room especially the powerful shower. Upon arrival we had dinner in the restaurant and headed straight to the spa.
The spa has amazing facilities, we especially enjoyed the outdoor heated swimming pool.
The breakfast was delicious and had on offer a wide variety of different foods.
The location of the hotel was superb, it was in the town center but we felt like we really were away from everything.
Overall, it was a very relaxing break-away in the Lakes.

The location is great for both walking the hills but also walking into Ambleside when you don’t want something too exhausting. We were planning on going somewhere else for dinner but ended up eating at the hotel every night - because there’s really nothing that makes you want to leave!

Great location, just on the outskirts of town, but walkable. Room was a good size, bed was very comfy. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and well presented. Staff very friendly. We were very happy staying at this hotel.The hotel has a great location with a wonderful relaxation area outside. The staff is very friendly. The room is nice with a large comfortable bed. It was great that there was a swimming pool. A variety of dishes for breakfast. We plan to visit again.

The area was mostly fine.
The area was mostly fine. In some areas the town was looking tired. Absence of any visible street cleaning. We must have passed an area where someone had let their dog foul the pavement at least eight times as we walked up and down to our guest house and back down towards the lake
I know it’s individual dog owners where the responsibility lies but even so it’s a big tourist area
So one would expect a bit more pride in the area
Unfortunately we won’t be rushing back to visit

The scenery in this area is fantastic.
The scenery in this area is fantastic. If you are a keen photographer you will be spoilt for choices. Not just at Windermere, but the surrounding towns, lakes, and walks. These include Windermere, Kendal / Derwent Water and Rydal, etc. Bowness has a good selection of places to eat and drink during the day and evening. The town also has a good selection of shops which include well known names and brands.

Ambleside is a beautiful place and we cannot wait to visit again. There are plenty of independent shops and eating places. We ate at Dodds which was really good and would definitely recommend. Walking around Ambleside on an evening felt extremely safe. Also traffic appeared to flow very well, although it is worth noting that there is a one way system in place.

We used the car ferry as a passenger was cheaper than the other small boats . The mountain goat buses were great aswell. Would recommend to book your evening meals at pubs in advance to your stay aswell.

Excellent location for the frequent Lakeland buses which meant we could bus to one place, walk over the hills or catch a boat, and catch a different bus back. No parking worries.

Fantastic stay as a last minute decision for our family of 5 and the dog.
Friendly welcome and freshly cleaned pod on arrival.
Spacious enough for us all - even my 6ft4 husband slept well.
Pods heated up quickly and held the heat nicely through the night.
Toilets and showers were clean and had hooks on the doors for keeping clothes dry etc.
We didn’t use the kitchen area but it was clean and spacious.
Games room had plenty of seating and a table tennis table but no rackets or ball unfortunately.
The campfire area was loved by our children in the evening.
Enough parking space and close to lots of local walks and experiences.
There were bikes on site that could be hired which would be a great family activity but I’m not sure on the pricing.

Easy walking area from the hamlet and access to more challenging walking not far away. Away from the tourist traps of the Lake District.
Would recommend eating at The Hare and Hounds for upmarket gastro pub food. The Masons Arms also serves good pub food. The Punchbowl at Crosthwaite is a 10 min drive away and is a very good restaurant
