The hotel staff was amazing. They helped us to find trips, hikes and hidden beaches we could experience. They were very helpful with everything, and was always nice and friendly to talk to. The cleaning personelle was exceptionally great (never experiences anything like that before). The food in Vigla Resturant was so good that we had to spend 2/3 evenings eating there (Moussaka recommend, recommend), and the view from the restaurant/hotel was beautiful. The pool area is super relaxing and nice, and the athmosphere in general was very relaxing and soothing. Thank you so much. We will be back. (and it doesn't matter that it is a bit away from the city center, you will not regret Vigla).

At 1 minute to foot there are meny restaurants, market, bakery and so on. On the stairs to arrive to the Pension, on the right there is a very very nice botanic garden where i drunk a Special Greek Spritz 😊. Finally, Mr Funnies is very nice and friendly person. We would highly recommend Skopelitis Village! The wonderful welcome & warm hospitality of our beautiful hosts Antrea & Elena was outstanding. Rooms were modern & clean & some of the most beautifully appointed in our time in Europe. The gardens so pretty are immaculately cared for. With a car, which is a must to see & enjoy Amorgos, the hotel is situated well, high up overlooking western sunset views over the sea & down to stunning Katapola, close to explore jaw dropping Chora town a few kilometres away, & many other places that Antrea kindly shares his much appreciated personal insights on. His foody recommendations made our time extra special too! Elena would quietly check in with us everyday to see how we were enjoying our stay & with any advice she was happy to offer. She was just amazing.A beautiful place & stay made more exceptional by the staff.

Nikos and Alexia make you feel welcome like you’re part of the family. They keep their lovely place in top-notch condition (Nikos is a perfectionist). It really is a labor of love for them. While Nikos makes the best eggs, Alexia is the queen of the home-baked cakes. This is absolutely the place to be when visiting Amorgos. Not a chance anyone does better! And it’s located in what is one of the most beautiful villages I’ve seen in my life.

This place was one of the most welcoming accommodations I've stayed. The hospitality and friendly atmosphere since the pick up from the port until the moment of leaving made this place a special spot in Amorgos. Alexander and all the people did everything they could to make us feel at home away from home. The sunset view from the pool deserves a mention as well.

Walking distance to the port, restaurants, car rental, and a beach. There is a bus that runs sparingly around the island. However, if you want to be adventurous and find historical sites, amazing little towns and hit up the remote nude beaches, you will need a car. In October I paid €60 cash to rent a car for three days. No deposit, no insurance… just a hand shake. It felt like stepping back in time.

This is in my opinion the best location for a stay in Amorgos. The village has everything you need including a lovely sandy beach, great selection of bars and restaurants and a good mix of accommodation. Great walking can be had in the hills behind, exploring villages and amazing views. You can get a ferry direct to the port, but it depends which company you go with. Many only drop in Katapola in which case you will need to get a bus/taxi or hire a car. The island is in fact very long, so a car is a good idea in any case

Wonderful place with little tourists, amazing views on the sea, authentic food and atmosphere. Never felt so agreeably remote from modern life, without any compromise on comfort at the places we stayed. However be prepared for the bad roads and the poor direction indications - have your GPS ready.

This was an adorable little town.

This was an adorable little town. There was a little shopping (like a few stores) and some great restaurants. The area is not too touristy. Our kids met up with the local kids every night to play soccer and that absolutely made the trip fantastic for all of us. What a special memory. 2-3 nights here is fine.

Great beaches and a hillwalkers paradise.

Great beaches and a hillwalkers paradise. Around Aegiali there is a coastal trail to several beaches, there are trails to two nearby mountain villages which are connected by another trail between them, one has a trail to a high mountain church which could be difficult for vertigo sufferers. There is another longer trail running down the spine of the island which I intend to go back and do. Beach photo taken from taverna at Lebressos, Aegiali port in distance. Other two are Stavros church high on Krikellos and section of path to get there.

if you think Santorini is a bit busy and crowded then head to this island for a bit of the feel of how Greece was 30 years ago With excellent restaurants and secluded beaches ( but you are going to need to hire a car or motorbike although the distances you travel a short , from Katapola to far north 30 min and to the far south 30 min and some of the most spectacular drives you will experience anywhere

We really enjoyed our time in Aegiali.

We really enjoyed our time in Aegiali. We had a great place to stay in with amazing views of the water and sunsets. The beach is very close as are the hiking trails. So many great restaurants in Aegiali. We also really appreciated that it was peaceful and everyone was friendly. Many come here to hike the trails and we took advantage of this exploring the surrounding villages.
