LatviaBreakfast was great, delivered to us every morning, the apartment was spacious, great view from the balcony, the owner of this property was very welcoming and accommodating, picked us up at the ferry port in the middle of the night and let us check-in early. We highly recommend this place and would definitely stay there again!

Also the parking space was very convenient. The host was very polite and the overall service very professional. We will definitely stay in Ydria if we visit Astypalaia again.

We were met with a very nice service when we arrived, we walked to the Hotel but you can request a shuttle aswell! The breakfast is simple but amazing, fresh cake and bread from a bakery nearby and fresh fruits, all our needs were met, and you have a lot of choices. The room was amazing and beautifully done aswell, we booked the economy one and it was just beautiful! The beds are beautifully crafted and it made us feel right at home. The mattress was a bit hard but the Staff there made sure we would feel comfortable immediately. No matter your concern, they will be there for you and they even booked an amazing boat tour for us. The pool is clean and has a infinity pool vibe, the pool bar meets your every need, and the hotel has two very cute cats that love fresh water and a little cuddle if you manage to gain their trust. All in all we could not be happier with our choice to stay there! Thank you for making our engagement vacation the best one possible.

This is a well managed family property and just a five minute walk to the beach and several good local restaurants. We are two friends who travel together and as we usually share one room with twin beds it was a luxury to have two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a kitchen and lounge with spacious patios and a huge garden area to ourselves. There is a large swimming pool with lounge beds and a cafe area for breakfast. Breakfast was included and needs a special mention. Maroula and Pantelis who run the resort with family and locals are a delight. A young couple, they speak perfect English and were welcoming and hospitable from the start. Breakfast included, fresh juice, a variety of home made cheeses, jams, honey, cakes, specialty savoury pies and any kind of egg dish you want. We left the breakfast table everyday with plenty of fresh fruit and yoghurt and extra savouries just in case we felt hungry!!

Aegean Sea Villas is an exceptional place to stay. The owners are very nice, kind, friendly and helpful people, they care about all the details, it was really a pleasure for us to meet with all. Great hospitality. Very well equipped kitchen and bathrooms, extremely clean house, breathtaking view of the sea and Chora from our terrace. Only a few mintes walk from Livadi beach, restaurants, supermarkets. We also rent a car from our owner, it was so easy, he takes care of everything about the car. I believe they deserve more than "10" on booking :) We will definitely come back :)

The apartment was in a perfect position for us. Whilst it is out of town, there are tavernas and a supermarket very close. Just below the apartment is a great cove with pebble beach. Inside the apartment is very comfortable and the owners make you very welcome, leaving a sweet treat each day. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Highly recommended.

The studio was perfect for a solo traveller or couple, super clean, tastefully decorated, super quiet, a lovely location just below the castle and just above the main square. Maria and her team kept it immaculate while I would go to the beach, and they left me generous provisions for morning coffee. I loved it!

Stayed for one night and then extented our stay for 2 more nights. We loved the location and the views. Our room was spacious and immaculately clean. A big thanks to the staff, they were all super friendly and attentive. Overall a great place to stay. Would love to go back!

The town is built on a very steep hillside, with most of the restaurants and bars at the top. In the summer there is a bus that runs from the beach to the top. If you come by ferry, check the sailing times, as most are middle of the night and the main port is not at Pera Gyalos. The roads leave a lot to be desired.

Analipsi is a gorgeous village in Astypalea.
If you are looking for a relaxed and peaceful stay, a gorgeous clean beach, low key cafes and restaurants (lots of fish dishes and seafood) it is THE perfect place to go. No noisy bikes / scooters. Perfect for couples (not much for children) wanting a stress free break.
Car hire would be beneficial to get to the Chora (a 15 minute drive) and enjoy the excellent views, and sample the lovely food. But it is possible to do without a car, using the bus or the "Astybus" which will pick you up on request.

Magical views, great food, good restaurants ( from 1/2$-$-$$) close to Livadi beach ( steep but walking distance) close to port . Cheap taxi service.5€ to get around.Astybus (electric small busses)picks you up where every you are ( cheap). Very friendly locals.

Another cute Greek island.
Another cute Greek island. I have been to 15+ Greek islands over 50 times in total. It is similar to many other Greek islands. Small, cute. The castle and the old town looks really lovely. We went in mid-August. Although the island had probably around 5000 visitors, because there are few restaurants and options, all places were packed. Most of my Greek friends consider Astypalaia as the best Greek island, however in my view it's fine, cute, but I wouldn't say it's more beautiful than many other Greek islands.
