It was a great stay. The staff was exceptionally nice and helpful at all times. The hotel room was really thought out. There is enough space for the luggage. Even a closet. The hotel room was clean and cosy. The pool area was clean - We also ordered some of the food they had on the menu. Even that was really tasty. Its also not far from the beach. All in all i would 100% totally recommend staying here if you come to kalithea.

A 200-year-old house, it's like sleeping in a museum, unusual and beautiful, with every detail perfectly fitting the interior. We really loved it, just like the entire town of Arnea, which is a historic place.

We stayed in the suite with pool view and it was absolutely gorgeous. Spyros was amazing, nothing he couldnt do for you. The apartment was cleaned every day. Its perfect to stay just outside of Afytos as its a very short drive and you get the luxury of a good view, quiet and spacious pool area being outside of town.

Beautiful hotel, great location, close to restaurants and shops. Worth spending more for a room with a view. The area is very populated, but you don’t hear any of the noise in the room. FAQs about hotels in Halkidiki

Mainland Greece at its Best

A 3-pronged peninsula to the south-east of Thessaloniki, Halkidiki is best known for its rolling scenery, beautiful beaches and good watersports.

The westernmost prong is the lively Kassandra peninsula. Sani on its west coast is backed by a pine forest and has beautiful sunsets. On the opposite side, Pefkohori’s fantastic beach and calm, shallow waters make it a popular choice for families. Polichrono and Kalithea to the north have a good selection of Halkidiki hotels on the beach, while Afitos has a picturesque Old Town with cobbled streets.

On the quieter Sithonia peninsula, Metamorfosi is a small village with a Blue Flag beach, while Neos Marmaras has a pretty harbour offering boat trips. On the eastern side Vourvourou is very popular and has lovely views of the offshore islands.

An island just off the Mount Athos peninsula is Amolianí which has rocky coastline and wonderful beaches. Across the water is Ouranoupoli whose small fishing harbour is guarded by a 14th-century tower. On the main part of the Halkidiki region, Stavros and Olympiada both sweep around picturesque bays dominated by the lush Cholomontas mountains.

You rarely find a hotel that makes you want to return, but Ammouda Villas is one of those rare places. As Hotel Manager Yannis mentioned, if you stay at Ammouda Villas once, you'll want to come back again. And it's true—we were very pleased with our stay at Ammouda Villas. The location is excellent. It is situated on one of the most beautiful beaches of the Sithonia peninsula. The Ground Floor Villa we stayed in had its own private sun beds, which provided a great deal of comfort. You can go to the beach at any time of the day and use your own private sun beds. The house has everything a family with children might need. The cleanliness is top-notch. Ammouda Villas has a large organic garden, and hotel guests can use the products grown in this garden for free. In fact, you can pick any vegetable or fruit you want yourself. You can have fresh vegetables for breakfast every day. Every kind of vegetable you could think of for breakfast is available. There are many nice restaurants close to the hotel. You won't have any trouble finding quality food. And most importantly, the hospitality. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The most special person is the hotel manager, Yannis. Yannis is very helpful in every aspect and establishes a close and sincere relationship with you. We are also very grateful for the surprise treats he provided us every morning. Ammouda Villas ! we look forward to seeing you again. Erdem

Ouranoupoli is a beautiful small town with a soul.

Ouranoupoli is a beautiful small town with a soul. It changes from year to year— for some people for the better, for others for the worse. Religious tourism is very prominent outside the summer season. I believe that during the summer, beach season, this type of tourism also exists alongside the usual vacation and swimming tourism. The place is peaceful; the main street and promenade are full of religious shops where Orthodox icons and other church-related items are mostly sold. For young people, it’s not really the ideal destination. The very nature and sanctity of the area simply do not allow wild parties— it’s just not that kind of place. I don’t believe the local population would even like that. As for the food—and people don’t come here only for physical nourishment but also for spiritual—every restaurant along the coast is good. The service is decent, the prices are decent, although they too are drifting toward the typical tourist “fast and expensive” deviation: everything is becoming pricier, faster, with less flavor and lower quality. Hopefully that will improve as well. I hope someone local will read what I’m writing here, and that this isn’t in vain. Love needs to be brought back into cooking and hospitality. It’s not all about money, it’s not all about profit. Something lies in a smile, something lies in the satisfaction of a guest who ate, for example, a good fish and said, “I’ve never eaten a better fish in my life,” and truly meant it.

Decent place to swim and sunbathe, although among the dirtiest I've seen in Greece. The dirt in the sand is never collected, and people vacationing here are not among the most educated, considering the very low prices. It's weird that not even private beach owners (renters?) bother to clean up the sand at their location. The city is always full of cars, and more seem to be coming every minute. I have never seen so many people driving around such a small place in so many cars. The good news is that all the streets are one way, although you'll see a lot of cars going the wrong way, so be careful, especially at the intersections. Also, there is no genuine Greek taverns in the area, only fast food restaurants. This is literally a food industry, with all restaurants craming tables one on top of another to seat as many customers as possible for the shortest amount of time possible. You can eat good food if you follow Google Maps ratings, but don't expect an authentic experience. It's just business. On the plus side, the restaurants are among the cheapest in Greece, which might explain the kind of people vacationing here and their habits (throwing garbage right next to them, never considering the bins nearby).

Nea Moudania is a small town on the seaside which is developing quite fast. There are plenty of new roads and new facilities and even a new amphitheater near the sea. In the town we found a lot of nice resonants with variety of cuisines, pizza and past bar, and fresh fish! Where are a nice bars, as well. We enjoyed a lot this small town and we would like to return there soon.

If you want to experience real nice place with fabulous sightseeing views long up and down walks with very nice sandy beach at the end of the city and not so far away other beautiful beaches - Neos is jut a right fit! It has the scent of old towns at the cliff but in the same time it has a layers of modernity embroidered throughout the scape. If it is more for young people? Maybe, if you don't like to walk but there is round walk next to the sea side as well... Nice restaurants, small shops just in a proper measure - for vacation that will fulfill you with scents and flavors of Greece.

Beautiful Central Square in a beautiful village with a huge plane-tree having magic water sprung from its body (literally - See pictures). Arnaia Central Square has everything a tourist is dreaming on: Greek atmosphere, Greek old houses, stone pavement, a plane-tree, a spring with cold water, tavernas with gyros and souvlaki, Greek cofee, ouzo and, of course, a lot of Greek people. Plus natural honey and bee products shops and a traditional butcher - a bonus for the profesional traveler.

Nikiti is an ideal town for families with children, especially those aged 1–12. Everything is within walking distance. The beach and sea are perfect for kids, and the restaurants are family-friendly. There are also toy machines for children to play with. However, it might be a bit boring for young couples without kids, as there aren’t many entertainment options such as night clubs or disco bars.

Property ideally situated. 2 small supermarkets nearby. Baker in next building. 5 mins walk to beach, bars, restaurants. Approx 40 mins stroll along beachside road to Nea Moudinia town, less than 10 mins by car. Dionysiou village 10 mins inland by car. Traditional non-touristy Greek village with pleasant tavernas. 15 min stroll to next village (Mouries) with local traditional taverna. You can get to main town of N.D. by bus from airport, but it's not a direct journey. Car hire recommended as it's only 45 mins from airport, and there are no local buses to/from P.D. The apartments are modern, very clean, cooking facilities, good strong shower with plenty of hot water, balcony. Very little traffic noise as the whole area is redidential. Lots of available street parking. Beach is mainly pebbles, but with sand patches once you are in the sea. Sunbeds mainly free of charge if you eat/drink on the premises. Early booking is best, I visited mid-May, tried to book again for late June, but property full and had to book elsewhere! It's an ideal property and location for a peaceful holiday - no big crowds and no high-rise apartments.
