I would highly rate this island hotel for an amazing luxury break. The hotel's style is elegant & thoughtfully designed, creating a serene & luxurious atmosphere. The staff are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to ensure guests feel welcome & comfortable. The service is top-notch, with attention to detail and a genuine commitment to making your stay unforgettable. The food is delicious & fresh fish is the order of the day. The breakfast menu is extensive & the salads at lunchtime were divine (try the cauliflower salad it’s to die for!). The beach is perfect for swimming, snorkelling & just watching the world go by. The array of boats that moor up in Mandraki Bay means there is great people watching to be had!! There is cute taverna next door for a local lunch or dinner if you don’t fancy hopping on the hotel water taxi into the port. The complimentary water taxi runs all day to & from Hydra port which is such a stunning trip & never got old even after a week at this gorgeous hotel. Shout out to the owner Arthur for being so present & knowledgeable about Hydra, always ready to offer advice on restaurants, walks etc when asked in a charming & understated way. Thank you for sharing your special piece of Greek heaven!

Everything !!! Great accomodation on the island we absolutely loved it !!! The place, the views incredible. Location and view from the apartment windows of the port were outstanding , such a highlight. Myrto, the host was so sweet and helpful.

We could not fault this apartment at all. It was clean, comfortable, private, and in the most perfect location to the harbor for dinner drinks and shopping. The staff were lovely, helpful, and generous with homemade ice cream. We totally enjoyed our time in Hydra.

10+ I would say! Such kind hosts and a great location of their property. It is a small separate building in an inner courtyard, the room and bed are spacious, all the necessary kitchen utensils, bathroom big and airy and clean. I loved my stay in Sterna Apartment. Hydra is an exceptional island, some people return, someone disappointed, it is not for everyone, no elevators, lots of stairs everywhere, climbing, everything on a hill, rocky beaches and far from the center, you will walk many kilometers, do not expect a classic holiday destination with long sandy beaches. Unfortunately, there are too many cats in the city, with excrement everywhere on the streets, a foul smell, and huge numbers of flies. It's a shame that the city doesn't take better care of itself.

Mandraki was a hidden gem of a place, only a 20-minute walk along the coast from Hydra Town, but away from all the hustle and bustle and with its own little beach and taverna - everything you could possibly need for a deeply relaxing holiday.

Hydra is beautiful. No cars no scooters.

Hydra is beautiful. No cars no scooters. If unable to carry your luggage over all the cobblestones a donkey will. If bored and not swimming weather, watch the activity at the port. Many ships anchor out or smaller ones come in. Beautiful shops and lovely places to eat.

There are plenty of Restaurants close to the Harbour and...

There are plenty of Restaurants close to the Harbour and there is plenty of variety or restaurants. A couple of Bakeries, Ice Cream shops and Cafes are also available. There are a lot of clothing shops on the front and up the various alleys so there is plenty to look at. We took a Water Taxi down the East Coast and that was worthwhile. Another couple took a Water Taxi to a Beach on the other side of the Island and had a swim. That sounded like fun but there is very little sand here so get used to a stony beach. We came here in October so it was winding down for the Winter. Less Crowds but overall less activity. Our room had a Balcony right on to the Harbour Front. I would expect that it might be a little noisy in Summer / High Tourist season. Our Hotel offered rooms at the back that may have been quieter? Also this is a Historic Island. The Greek revolutions started here and the locals are very proud of that. There was also a huge fire in 1984 that killed 4 people and they lost a great deal of tree coverage. If you do go around the island there are pockets of Trees that were saved that will give you some idea of what the landscape used to look like. If you love the Olympics like I do, Elena Votsi a local Jeweler designed the front of the Olympic Medals since 2004 and her store is on the Harbour Front. She has a display that is worth seeing. My wife and I stayed 2 full days and had a lovely time. No cars or Motorbikes here so you will get your steps up. You will burn more Calories but there is some great food to tempt you to put more Calories in. Great Stay - Worth It.
