GreeceEverything was sublime. The facilities are clean, serene, and picturesque, blending with nature and highlighting the Greek island style. The breakfast is abundant and tasty. The spa is available to all guests (sauna & steam bath), and there is also a range of paid therapies (Alexandra & Spiros performed one of the best massage therapies we ever had). Nice beachfront with very comfy sun beds and a chilling lounge area above it, available until late. All the staff were very polite and helpful. Finally, all these would not be possible without Manolis, the hotel manager, who guided us through the hotel amenities and compensated us with extra pampering.

The views from the restaurant and our balconies were breathtaking. The breakfast was wonderful! We loved every minute of it. Patmos is a special island in so many different ways.

This was the most pleasant stay of our trip in two weeks! The owner really gave an amazing first impression, and my wife thinks this was one of the most beautiful places she has ever stayed! The positioning could not be better for access to shops in Skala, the Cave of the Apocalypse, and a most beautiful sunrise! Everyone should come visit in the off season!convenient! We could also cook all of our meals!

Absolutely beautiful, serene and yet easy to get into town. I loved my stay and I wish I could’ve spent many more days here with 9 Muses. This was the highlight of my trip to Greece. The staff is incredibly kind and friendly, the small beach nearby makes an excellent morning swim, and the whole property is an excellent jumping off point for exploring what Patmos has to offer.

Everything. The owners were so welcoming and hospitable. The owner makes different special breakfast dishes each day. It is a spectacular setting, spotlessly clean. We travel extensively, this is one of the best places we have stayed. We had a private courtyard with a hot tub. Friendly, helpful staff. The pool was a jewel. A rental car is a must.

Everything about Patmos Villas is beyond expectations. It is quiet with lovely views, very comfortable and clean . Thomas and family are exceptional hosts ,they have made my stay very enjoyable and memorable .
When I visit Patmos I will definitely stay here .

Skala has a lovely central area with restaurants and shops, and is pleasant to wander around.
It is convenient so close to the ferry port.
It was easy to hire a car and there were large public parking areas. You need one if you wish to visit beaches. Psili Ammos in the south is worth the half hour hike in for its fabulous sandy beach with a good taverna.
But there were no beaches within walking distance of Skala.
St John’s monastery is certainly worth the visit.
We jumped on a ferry to Lipsi island for a great day trip.

Patmos mid-September still has plenty of visitors but isn't packed. It feels laid back and relaxed. There are some lovely beaches - our favourites included Kampos, Livadi and Psili Amos (which takes a hike to get to - wear good shoes). There is a great variety between the beaches being sand, pebble, stones. You definitely need to budget for hiring a car or scooter to get about - though there are taxis too. There's plenty to visit in terms of monasteries, windmills, traditional ship yard, plus driving to some of the more out of the way places is interesting. It's easy and worthwhile to get a ferry to Lipsos or one of the other nearby islands for a day trip. We stayed for 10 days and it felt just right.

Grikos is a pretty sea-front village with five tavernas, one organised beach and two unorganised beaches. It's perfect for a quiet and relaxing holiday. The port of Skala, the main town, is 3 kilometres away, and buses costing two euros run regularly throughout the day and into the early evening. There's also a car and scooter hire establishment for those who prefer their own transport. There is no grocery-store in Grikos, but Skala is close enough to not make this too much of an inconvenience.

Patmos is a beautiful and busy place. The town of Skala is great for shopping and walking. There are lovely beaches around the island, which can be reached by boat or car, but they are well worth the effort. A visit to the monastery and the town of Chora, with its many restaurants, shops, and great views, is also a must. Overall, it is a gorgeous island, but be prepared for some cold seawater.

Skala is delightful, but Patmos overall is incredible. We visited the beautiful village of Chora, the monastery of St John, the windmills, and the spiritual cave of the Apocolypse, where John wrote the book of Revelation in the Bible. All was achieved in one day by taxi from Skala. The entire trip was from the island of Kos by ferry, with a 2 night stay in Skala. Well worth it. Wonderful !! Two beautiful islands in one holiday !!

There is a good selection of nice tavernas in Skala Town; there is one fine hotel close to the sea and the Bay which (unfortunately) was fully booked while I was there - unlike my chosen hotel which had about a 3% occupancy!!
