The staff are exceptionally kind, engaged, and genuinely helpful at every moment, which immediately creates a welcoming, stress‑free atmosphere. The panoramic views of the bay and surrounding mountains from the pool and terraces are breathtaking and set the tone for a perfect seaside break.
Our room was clean and comfortable, and breakfasts were tasty and plentiful. The location strikes a great balance: it’s right by a small, charming beach for easy swimming and sun, yet a pleasant walk brings you to the town center for evening strolls and dinners. Practical perks matter too: the hotel provides free parking and spaces are generally available; the ramp is tight for entry/exit, but it’s a real advantage to have on‑site parking included. For cautious drivers, there’s also a gentler, informal area next to the hotel that the property makes available. Wholeheartedly recommended for a calm, scenic, and well‑hosted stay.

Everything about the hotel was exceptional. It was clean and stylish. Breakfast was great. Room itself was well equipped and comfortable. I was very pleased with my stay. SlovakiaThis hotel is 11 out of 10. The staff is the top level. I have never been in to such a clean hotel. I highly appreciate the cook who prepared me lactose free diner. They didn't have any problem to clean the coffee machine out of milk. The staff and the owners were such a nice and made our stay extraordinary.

United KingdomWhat a fantastic stay at Joel! It’s the shoulder season, so not busy which just made it better. Very modern, spotless clean and the nicest staff you could hope for. Made to order breakfast everyday (buffet when it’s high season) and cocktails by the best pool in Novalja. It was an incredible surprise to find out Dejan Lovren is the owner and he was there the whole time…for any Liverpool supporter, it makes the visit just that much better.

We loved the location, the hotel bar by the beach, the hotel restaurant and the staff. We tried other restaurants outside the hotel but ours was the best regarding the quality and also the price, Seafood platter for two is the best choice. Very calm beach, it’s ideal to relax, don’t forget to bring your favorite book with you!
Pool was also wonderful, the quality of the water very nice plus the view is excellent.

The apartment was spacious, very light and extremely clean. The staff was very nice and helpful, they made it possible for us to check in at 10pm and they were kind enough to give us late check out. Good value for money, the view from the apartment is too good to be true.

Novalja is amazing.
Novalja is amazing. Sure, it’s full of people in the high season since the famous Zrce Beach is nearby, but I’ll definitely come back next year. Not just for the beautiful sea and beaches, but also because we never had a chance to be bored.

The owner was very kind and accommodating. The location was a peaceful and convenient place to stay. We ate at the public beach area which we walked to in under 10 minutes. We walked around the marina after dinner and that was a lovely family walk. Would recommend to others.

It’s a fairly remote village, but it’s full of life and...
It’s a fairly remote village, but it’s full of life and really gorgeous. There is a little market where you can buy mostly vegetables, some olive oil stands, but the nearest shop is a 20 min drive away. The olive gardens are really beautiful, you can find nice spots along the trail!

Povljana is growing too fast.
Povljana is growing too fast. The rapid construction of unsightly apartment buildings threatens the original charm of this peaceful coastal village and slowly pushes it toward the fate of overcrowded resorts like Makarska.
For now, the situation is still bearable – but it feels like a tipping point is approaching. One can only hope that local authorities and residents will act before the soul of the place is lost for good.

Good:
- beautiful beaches in the area
- several markets, no need to travel anywhere during the stay
- beautiful walking/running trail called 'Life on Mars'.
Not good:
- near Slana bay there was a concentration camp in the past which is not commemorated in a good way; one have to find the info by their own - I think most of the people are not aware in what kind of area they spend vacation.

The location is wonderfully peaceful, yet offers plenty of restaurants, a shop, and everything you might need for a comfortable holiday. The highlight is without a doubt the large pebble beach with its crystal-clear sea – truly exceptional. Šimuni also has a charming harbor with several restaurants, and it even offers the possibility to swim there if the waves at the main beach are too strong. Having explored the entire island, I can say that this is one of the most beautiful spots for anyone seeking peace and relaxation.

The location is fabulous.
The location is fabulous. The sea is clean and full with sea life. There are at least 3-4 restaurants in Mandre, two grocery shops and 2-3 bakeries. There is a cheese shop about 3 km away in Kolan, that has a lot of tasty local specialties.

Beautiful view, very friendly owners who took us on a boat trip, cosy and clean villa is equipped with all the stuff you need e.g. washing machine, dishwasher, table tennis, nicely decorated. Highly recommended.

Location is excelent.
Location is excelent. The beach is really sandy, ideal for kids, there is shallow water, so you can play with the kids 30 meters in the sea and you are still standing. The people taking care aboput this appartments are one family and they are running as really family bussines. The managert is young person and he is trying his best. Some experiences are missing but he is replacing that by the effort of his and his family. I stayed for one week and during that i did not hear - "it is not possible or NO".

Novalja peaks during summer for the festival season, with Zrce Beach nearby. However, it's a cute small town with its own little charm, I would definitely come at a less busy time (that being said, even during festival season it didn't feel crowded at all), and do some driving to nearby spots on the island. Driving is definitely preferred in Croatia in general (just be aware of limited parking and teeny two way streets), but you can arrive by bus to Novalja too.
