IndonesiaWhere to start, first impression was jaw dropping walking in to that amazing lobby with that unforgettable view, then being welcomed by all the beautiful staff. The room amazing, much nicer than a lot of 5 star places. The view from the room spectacular. Rooms are cleaned well and there are lot of personal touches the staff add, that guarantee a unique and memorable stay. The pool (we only used the lower one) is stunning. They offer paddleboarding and kayaking and the staff are very caring and patient with newbies. We will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone that is travelling to Labuan Bajo, we cannot wait to return.

The food is super tasty and the place is just an oasis. Felt so luxurious to be here after traveling around Flores and it was good to relax here. Also recommend snorkeling in the morning in front of the beach (they provide snorkeling gear). It is all very well taken care of and I in particular loved the spacious bathroom

The pool is wonderful.
All the staff are lovely people, always smiling and ready to help with anything. Ricky in particular is doing an excellent job. He’s such a kind guy, always making sure everything is perfect and that we feel comfortable. He helped us with absolutely everything (scooter rental, tips on places to visit nearby, taxi to the airport, etc.). We’re very grateful to have met him.
We extended our stay for two more days to enjoy everything the hotel has to offer :)

Really enjoyed breakfast with toast, egg selections, home made jam, fresh fruit juice, a plate of fresh fruits and really nice coffee from espresso!! having in beautiful garden full of flowers and great view was amazing!! Staffs are exceptionally friendly and kind! always ready to help with beautiful smile! And Joseph, manager of hotel, arranged everything I need from all transportations, Mt. Egon trekking tour, diviving trip, visa extension or so! Even provided medicine for me when I was a bit sick, and also bring me to Apotek for translation!! They are Not just staff of hotel but more of family! taking care of me and feeding me!! At first I booked 2nights but stayed here 8nights!:) I will definitely recommend this hotel everyone and will be back if I visit Maumere again!!

While there are small corals just in front of the resort for a quick snorkel, the real highlight is the stunning reefs reachable by boat. Claudia organizes daily trips, making it super easy to explore the area — perfect for both snorkelling and diving.
Another unforgettable experience was the walking trip to Egon Volcano, which is nearby. The views were incredible and absolutely worth the hike.

This is the nicest place we have ever stayed at (and probably ever will!). It is expensive, but what you get for the money is just amazing. The location is so beautiful and the resort blends in with nature, our beachfront villa was fantastic (quiet, huge, super comfy bed, very clean, beautiful view) and all the staff were absolutely wonderful. Our butler Eka was amazing and helped us with everything that we needed. Angelo, Harry and Jeffrey were always eager to chat and make sure we were comfortable and happy, and Tia did an excellent job helping us out with snorkelling equipment and the kayaks. The two restaurants were both very good, and the spa was beautifully situated by the beach and offered great massages. There was a great choice of breakfast options and the afternoon tea was a very appreciated extra perk. We were also very lucky that our room was available so we were offered both early check-in and late check-out.

Booked a week stay in L Bajo, I will definitely stay here again, it's in a prime location, 15min walk to the harbor which is only a few minutes drive, and a supermarket next door. Staffs are super friendly, simple but clean room with comfortable bed, great value for money. Love the sunset view!
Shout out to Arna who greeted me in check-in and sent me off the last day. She's lovely!
Two things to note:
- very simple breakfast with only coffee, milk, toast and cup noodles. Not my top choice for breakfast but when you're getting up at 5:30 for diving there's literally no other breakfast options around and the hot coffee and cup noodles have saved a few of my mornings. It's free and considering the room rate I won't complain at all.
- the hotel doesn't provide towels, remember to bring yours.

Bright room with big window and huge bed, great property, very accommodating and helpful staff. We stayed for a week, only interrupted by a Komodo tour for a couple of nights (hence the same review twice), because we had to wait for our visa extension. We could not have chosen a better place for hanging out and relaxing. The wifi was excellent, which was great for further travel organisation and catching up with what had happened in the world since we were on the run.

Very large double room in great location about a 10 minute walk to the main shops and harbour. Room was very clean and comfortable, providing for your needs. The available Streaming service is great if you have a bit of time on your hands. The Host was very welcoming. Breakfast was very nice and Wik was able to meet my dietary needs. While they don't serve dinner meals are available at the Escape Bajo restaurant next door (great rooftop view over the bay).

Excellent place to stay, fantastic breakfast buffet, short car journey into town or to the harbour where there is excellent sea fish on the street stalls.
Ferdinand communicated very well via WhatsApp before we arrived, he arranged our airport transfer which was waiting when we arrived. Ferdinand also arranged our trip to the Komodo dragons and a car tour which were both good prices.

Location, Breakfast, View, Staff is perfect. As Grab is not useful in the Labuan Bajo village and taxi quite expensive, the location of the hotel is just awesome, could walk to everywhere, harbour, Starbucks, restaurants, travel agency... And there's 360° view on the roof.

The houses are beautiful, with more than enough space and very well designed. You can find a huge variety of corals and fish while snorkeling just at the beach there. Turtles, sharks, stone fish and so on and so on. The staff is very friendly and the food good.

I came for diving - going on a short Liveaboard for 3 days and doing 3 days of shore diving. The place is on the cusp of turning towards the dark side of tourism ghetto that is overbearing, but at the moment it's worth visiting. I would have stayed for another day, but airlines serving the airport (Komodo International Airport) do what they want. My flight there was delayed 2 hours and my flight leaving to connect with an international flight was rescheduled less than 48 hours before departure. It meant i had to leave the day before because there was no way i'd make the connection. People working there told me my experience is a common one - giving much worse examples. For less experienced divers, be aware currents are common - some very strong.

A very dirty, busy city. Easy to be run over and huge holes in the sidewalks. Best not to stay here. There are no restaurants. To see the Spiderweb Rice fields it is best (if traveling by car) to just stop there on your way through (takes maybe 1/2 hour) and continue on

Great place worth viewing, I would recommend taking a picnic up there so you can spend more time there and have lunch they are plenty of different spots to wonder around l. The forest is beautiful which is something you don't really see when walking through in the dark for sunrise.

A very vibrant and busy town, as a white family we attracted a lot of attention, not always good. Uncomfortable walking around the town. We used taxis to move around the town. If I was traveling by myself I would have used public transportation, the bemos look fun!

Nice, small, authentic village.
Extremely friendly people.
Good food, big portions.
Scenery along the coast is mindblowing.
Streets are in good condition or new, with few exceptions. Good for daytrips along the coast or traveling from town to town. Good connections to/from Bajawa by shared transport (100kIDR per person for one direction). Expect 150kIDR for long distance hops Labuan Bajo - Ruteng - Bajawa - Ende (3,5h each).

Anyone travelling to Maurmere should be aware there are severe problems with the local airport. It can be closed due to volcanic activity and if it is you will have almost no way of confirming or arranging other travel except by road.
Maumere itself is pretty low service. There are no restaurants except very small local Warungs where you cannot guarantee hygiene. If staying at Cocnut beach it has a great reasturant and facilities but be aware you will likely not leave the hotel accept to do activities such as visit the Kelimutu Volcano which can also be done from other towns.

Fairly expensive, not as developed, if you’re there for a boat tour, just get in and get out, not much to do there you can’t do in Bali or Lombok much cheaper. Can’t say enough about Sudamala Resort, reasonably priced if you book in advance and 5 star all the way.

Highly HIGHLY recommend the 3D2N liveaboard to see multiple islands, pink beach, the Komodo dragons, Padar island with the beautiful hike for the view, and snorkeling throughout. We got to see baby sharks the last day and swim with them! It was amazing!
Also highly recommend Cunca Wulang waterfall, Rangko cave, and the Mirror Stone cave. I do wish that I got to walk around the harbor and all the shopping around it but all the natural beauty was well worth the trip!

Higly recommended to everyone who wants to really enjoy the Ruteng and surrounding area, Waerebo village included (you can get there by motorbike). Ino and his family are awesome people, willing to help you with everything you need or want. You really become the member of the family. I would definitely come back if I visit Flores again. Breakfasts are so delicious and different every day (Im vegan and they prepared special meal for me, but I felt like a queen), beds are so comfy, they have hot shower, you can chill out at the garden or in the shed where you can also cook by yourself. They will give you valuable information and recommendations on places you should visit.. and there is much more. In the end, we are speechless, this stay exceeded our expectations.
