The place literally lives up to it's name. It really is an escape. It is placed in a rural area, far away form traffic, noise and crowds. We had a King Deluxe Suite and it lived to our expectations. Amazing view of the pool and ocean. I recommend getting this instead of the standard rooms if you want more privacy because those are at pool level. The staff was amazing and very helpful. Room service was fast and perfect. Totally recommend if you want to spend a few days away from crowds.

Loved our stay!!! It was our honeymoon and they made it extra special. Jro is an amazing human and a supermom who really took care of us. I only have good words and good wishes for her. Please, treat yourself and stay in one of the villas - I spent almost a month in Indonesia and it's the best sleep I had! The bed is so comfy, the space was super clean and I felt super safe knowing there were no bugs in the room with us. The room was very spacious and the outdoor bathroom is also super nice. Although the decor is clean and modern, it still is a typical balinese hotel which I love! Breakfast was DELICIOUS - best scrambled eggs we had!! we still talk about them! Also you could choose to have the breakfast in your patio or in the restaurant. Luckily for us, from both places your could see and hear the river which was so beautiful and relaxing. 10/10 experience. Location is super. The hotel is between two rivers and surrounded by nature. The staff was very helpful and they even carried our bags from the reception to the villa, since the path to get there was a bit bumpy. Please, bare in mind that you will need a car for almost everything. I would 100% recommend to hire a private driver for your stay and visit the many waterfalls nearby, Sidemen city, the activity parks (with rafting and other activities!) etc.

Amazing place. Staff was very nice and helpful. The view from the bungalows is beautiful and the room itself was better than expected, clean and spacious. We had AC and also a fan above the bed. I highly recommend the massage and body scrub, booking was fast and easy and the treatment itself very good and relaxing and the spa place looked very nice. The food at the restaurant is tasty and the menu contains a lot of options. Just keep in mind that the accommodation is located in a rice field so you may see/hear certain insects/animals. We also saw a snake near our bungalow, but the staff assured us that is not dangerous based on the colors and size that we described, but it is common in the rice fields.

Really laidback bungalows with great ocean views. the bungalows are the most spacious I stayed in for this price range, the open sky bathrooms are unexpected and cool. we even had a palm tree in our bathroom, giving a tropical jungle feeling. the bungalows are along a quiet stretch of the beach with good restaurants in walking distance. the snorkling is really good, saw sharks and turtles right in front of the resort. the staff is super attentive but chill at the same time. they are usually around, if you need anything, they will help and give useful recommendations. i will for sure come back to this place. thank you so much!

5 stars!! This is paradise on Earth!! We had the most amazing stay in Sidemen. We stayed in Joglo.. the private pool, amazing views and stunning interior made this trip outstanding! It truly is the most perfect honeymoon destination. We stayed for 2 nights and booked to do the scooter tour which was amazing.. little touches like bringing a towel for us to the waterfall so that we could get in. We also had a couples Balinese massage and it was the best massage I've ever had. Breakfast was served in our room each morning and the hotel food and drink was all just amazing!! We cannot rave enough about it!

My stay was fantastic! The room was beautiful, very spacious, with a huge window offering the most amazing view! Every morning, I would wake up and swim in the pool while enjoying the lush greenery all around. The room was incredibly well-equipped with water, a fridge, a kettle for tea or coffee, shampoo, body lotion, and more. The staff was discreet, always smiling, and eager to help. There were plenty of breakfast options, and everything was delicious. I will definitely stay at the same hotel again the next time I visit Sidemen.

Candi Beach Resort and Spa was one of the highlights of our Bali trip. The resort sits right on the ocean, with spacious rooms offering breathtaking sea views. The beach is clean, the water crystal clear, and the whole setting is wonderfully peaceful; far from the usual tourist crowds. A special mention goes to the on-site scuba diving shop and their professional, friendly staff who made our underwater experience safe and unforgettable. It’s the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. We’ll definitely be back!

We had an amazing stay at aquaterrace in Amed! The view is beautiful, and there is a small beach you can snorkel on just a few meters from the hotel. The staff were perfect, always smiling. You can rent snorkeling gear and scooter there, and there is also free transport from the hotel to nearby beaches. The food was also really good, and you order easy to your room or the pool via WhatsApp. Nice private sunbeds by the pool, and really nice pool as well. Would absolutely recommend!

We stayed in Di Ume Suite. The room and bathroom was very comfortable and big. Bathroom was enormous. The views from the balcony and overall from the hotel were breathtaking. The staff was very kind and attentive, first class. Especially the restaurant staff, all of them really, but I would like to name Desi, Santa and Ayu who took also special care of our younger daughter as one of their family. We are looking forward to return one day.

We arrived and were immediately fascinated by this place and its atmosphere. It is calm, directly in nature, the staff was the sweetest and so helpful (they helped us sort out any issue with so much patience) and everything is well mantained and clean. The breakfast was also fine. There is no AC which worried us a bit before arriving but it is really not needed. There were two fans which were more than enough.

Amed is essentailly frequented by the diving community due to the many outstanding dive locations in the immediate vicinity, and there are numerous restaurants (Warungs) which are very reasonably priced. Easy to explore the local area by hiring a scooter.

The view from the pool is excellent.

The view from the pool is excellent. The building construction needs improving with many examples of poor workmanship, chipped bath, misaligned electricals, tiles falling off. The layout would be great for three couples as all rooms are stand alone, but did not suit our family. The lounge is open air so mosquitos and bugs meant heavy use of DEET. You have to go outside into the rain to enter bedrooms, also not great. This property needs to be finished structurally, with an entire area upstairs not completed and construction equipment lying around.

Normally, It’s a lot quieter than most other towns in Bali.

Normally, It’s a lot quieter than most other towns in Bali. Unfortunately there are major workings to fortify the beach fronts presently. Beach closures are taking place, which apparently may take a further 12 to 24 months to complete.

Padang bai is a transit town for the ferries. There are plenty of eateries around. The beach is unfortunately littered with rubbish and stray dogs roam around. It’s not somewhere to stay for long. There is a dive centre so it might be good for that, but for me as a general tourist I wouldn’t take a holiday here. I just stayed for the fast boats.

A little village with one main street.

A little village with one main street. Lots of diving opportunities. There was a 3 day festival happening when we were here that had a night market and dancing, including a fire dance. We got to mingle with the locals, kind folk, which was nice. It's a pretty easy scoot to some of the temples, rice fields, waterfalls, beaches, and attractions in the area. Decent local restaurants, good massages, good accessible shore dives. Easy enough to find a scooter rental for 70k-85k per day, ask the owner of where you're staying. During our stay in late October, there was a lot of haze in the air (maybe from burning?) so unfortunately, there weren't good sunrises or sunsets.

An off beat location, which is actually peaceful and great...

An off beat location, which is actually peaceful and great for nature lovers, adventure seekers and history lovers. It is close to the mother temple of Bali (15 minutes), Blue lagoon diving and Snorkeling, p Pura Tirta and the most amazing rafting site. So a 3-night stay at this place is ideal to cover east Bali and then you can go to Ubud.

Seraya is definitely a place to recommend. If you are looking for authenticity, pristine beaches (Virgin beach), local culture (Lempuyang Temple, Tirta Gangga Water Palace & Local Coffee Farm, etc.), you will definitely love the place!

The area is wonderful with so many things to do.

The area is wonderful with so many things to do. From beautiful beaches, horse riding, ATV driving, ziplining, monkeys, surfing, fishing, great local restaurants and day trips all over the island. Much quieter than the south and west of the island so you get a real look at traditional Balinese culture, not bogan booze buses and nightclubs.

Loved Amed but was only there for 2 nights, would definately...

Loved Amed but was only there for 2 nights, would definately go back for longer. Beautiful people and amazing local food. Great spot if you dont want the hussle and bussle of Kuta/Seminyak or Legian. The black beach was gorgeous and the sunsets were amazing, Great place for divers/snorkelling and fishing.

Difficulty in securing a driver but once secured your dream location awaits. Walk, ride trek, pamper or simply sit and naval gaze. Recommended. Yoga options, organic vegetarian eateries, minimal traffic. Earrings all welcoming and delicious or opt for high brow dining if you must.
