My stay at the Taj Mahal Palace was absolutely wonderful and exceeded all my expectations. The hotel truly feels like a palace, with its stunning architecture and luxurious interiors creating an atmosphere of timeless elegance. What impressed me the most was the exceptional service from the staff—warm, attentive, and always ready to cater to every need with genuine care. A special highlight of my stay was the complimentary upgrade I received, which made the experience even more exclusive and unforgettable. I highly recommend the Taj Mahal Palace—it's more than just a hotel; it’s an experience. I can’t wait to return!

A Decadent Escape at the Fairmont Mumbai – Where Every Detail is Perfection When my husband was called to a series of meetings in India, I saw the perfect opportunity to visit my brother in Mumbai. This trip also became the ideal occasion to celebrate our 25th anniversary — something we hadn’t been able to do earlier this year amidst the happy chaos of life with four wonderful children and two furry companions. The Fairmont Mumbai, newly opened just four months ago, proved to be everything we could have wished for and more. From the very start, our journey was infused with understated elegance and exceptional service. The hotel’s transfer set the tone — a smooth, luxurious ride from the airport, just a stone’s throw away, yet worlds apart from the bustle and noise of the city streets. Stepping into the lobby was like stepping back in time. The 1920s-inspired interiors — rich Art Deco detailing, exquisite architecture, and carefully curated artwork — spoke of a bygone era of glamour and sophistication. Every corner reflected thought, taste, and sheer style, offering an immersive experience that felt both grand and intimate. The people of the Fairmont, however, made our stay truly unforgettable. From the driver and doorman to the front desk, concierge, spa team, and restaurant staff — every single person was at our beck and call, anticipating our needs before we even voiced them. Special thanks go to Executive Sous Chef Kaustubh Chavan and Sous Chef Vishal Shetty, who not only delighted us daily with their culinary artistry but also surprised us with a beautiful farewell cake at our last breakfast. Poolside, Sonny and Ankit took such great care of us, ensuring our moments of relaxation were nothing short of perfect. The dining was, in a word, spectacular. Across six live kitchens, the chefs showcased flavours from around the world, sourcing rare ingredients and presenting them with creativity and flair. Every meal felt like an event, every plate a masterpiece.

I grew up in Mumbai. Lots of fond memories.

I grew up in Mumbai. Lots of fond memories. Great city with great work culture, nice shopping, restaurants, reasonable weather. Infrastructure is a dampener but the Mumbai spirit is helpful, indomitable and never gives up. My favourite place in Mumbai is Bandra. It has glamour, the sea, lovely quaint Christian bungalows that builders have always been trying to acquire, lovely eating and drinking places, great bookshops, a super cool attitude and a generally friendly and helpful public.

Pune is my old haunt.

Pune is my old haunt. From NDA days in 1967 till date have stayed in Pune many times. It is changing fast. I miss old Pune. Old Marzorin, Budhani wafers, Pasteur Bakery, Kayani biscuits. Missed the old landmark; The Westend Cinema.

Nice place. We have visited the place multiple times.

Nice place. We have visited the place multiple times. Lonavala has 4 basic regions to explore. Typically, these should be done over 3-4 trips. The place offers some of the best water falls, hills for trekking, forts, party spots and markets. There are 4 dams, 2 very large ones. Absolutely worth exploring. Food options are good normally. A bit on the higher side at times. Stays are expensive if not planned properly.

Mahabaleshwar is ideal to visit in the rains if you like the rains and fog all the time. It rains continuously and is very cold. But I loved to visit during the rains as I enjoy the rains in the mountains, its a different experience. The Mahabaleshwar tourist market is also very good for shopping;, you get a lot of things there.

Shirdi Trip Experience 🌸🙏

Shirdi Trip Experience 🌸🙏 Visiting Shirdi was a truly divine and unforgettable experience. The moment you arrive, you can feel the calmness in the air — the climate was pleasant, the surroundings peaceful, and there’s a sense that Sai Baba’s presence is everywhere. As you walk through the holy streets, you can literally feel the fragrance of Baba’s blessings in the air. When you touch the cool marble floors and enter the Samadhi Mandir, there’s an instant wave of peace and devotion that fills your heart. It’s hard to describe in words — you just feel connected to something pure and powerful. Standing before Baba’s idol, with folded hands and eyes closed, you feel that Baba is looking right at you, listening to every prayer. The temple is beautifully maintained, the devotees are full of faith, and the entire atmosphere is soaked in positive energy. Truly, Shirdi is not just a place — it’s an experience of faith, love, and divine peace. Anyone who visits once will surely wish to come back again. 🙏✨

Its a place with bad roads, people have very poor traffic sense and civility. The Sula vineyard was overrun with people, the jyotirling temple had a 3 hour queue at 6:30am. Food options were limited. Overall preferred places like Aurangabad and Kolhapur which we also covered in this trip

Aurangabad now Chatrapati Sambhaji Nagar is famous for Kailash Temple , Ellora and Ajanta caves. Stunning sculpture of these three is unimaginable. One whole mountain carved into A temple which was partly destroyed by Aurangzeb a mughal king ,because his religion directs to do so. The next temple is Bhima Shanker one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, the most attractive thing is the natural beauty around this temple . This is a reserved forest area and purest wet fog is seen almost through out the year. You find yourselves in the mid of clouds feeling mysticaly. You can stay there in the forests with due permission of Forest department. Plan for atleast 3 days .

If you are flying in and out of Nagpur to visit Tadoba, then a day's stay is enough for you too see the places and eat the local food. It is not a big city and excepting a few spots, there is nothing you can do for more than a day. We spent two days in Tadoba and 1 day in Nagpur and was enough.
