I recently stayed at Hotel 201 in Reykjavik and had a generally pleasant experience. The hotel is conveniently located, offering easy access to the city's attractions, and the facilities were good. One feature I particularly appreciated was the charging point for electric vehicles, which made our travels around Reykjavik more convenient. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
Unfortunately, there was a hot water outage during our visit (which was not the hotel's fault), so after 10 pm, only cold water was available in the rooms. However, the hotel handled this situation well by informing us via email before our arrival and offering access to a nearby gym with hot water showers. While this was an unexpected inconvenience, the hotel's proactive communication and alternative solution were much appreciated.
The breakfast was standard with limited options, but it was still good enough to start the day. While there could have been more variety, the quality was satisfactory. Overall, despite the hot water issue, I would recommend Hotel 201 for its convenient location, friendly service, and decent facilities.

Absolutely loved the experience there. The staff were friendly, helpful and kind. Even got complimentary treats on my birthday sent to my room. Which I found icing on the cake to overall of my stay. Spa was relaxing and enjoyed the small thermal pool. Roof top breakfast was absolutely lovely and the staff there were wonderful. Also when we were leaving early around 3am the staff at the reception had teas, coffee and few snacks for us at the reception. Seriously they were all superb. Thank you so much!! 😊 can't reccomend this place highly enough!!! Will definitely go there again!

I liked self check-in possibility. Also I've got very quick answer from owner, about check-in instructions, by phone and via booking.com.
Price was very good, especially comparing to other Iceland hotels, good breakfast was included as a present. Room spacious, beds comfortable, all clean.
There was kettle in the room and some tea and coffee bags, nice. There are KFC and BONUS store nearby. Recommend this hotel!

STaFf were spectacular Front desk Natalia, Peter, Ele and don’t have the card I wrote them down on were all so helpful and accommodating. Alex at Breakfast was Phenomenal. be sure to book hotel at site that includes the breakfast in cost or it is $23 day/person which is pricey.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Easy parking in the garage. Very close to the rainbow street and all major sight seeing places. Loved the breakfast spread. The room was cozy and very comfortable. They also provide a fan in the room, very helpful.

Hafnarfjorthur was between Keflavic and Reykjavik making it quite handy and more affordable to stay at. We rented a car to tour the Golden Circle, enjoy the Blue Lagoon, and sightsee in Reykjavik and felt that was a good choice. We didn't sightsee in Hafnarfjorthur.

Great location if you are looking for accommodation as part of planning to do the Golden Circle. Circa 40-45 minute drive to Thinvellir. Grocery store nearby (sells good quality sushi) however only a few eating out options.

ive already answered these questions twice. we paid for a superior room and got one. Neighborhood is out of the way but has great views and animals and is near the road to Costco. we spent 2 weeks driving the entire island and enjoyed it. This place has a theme tastefully done and modern amenities.The Viking Hotel restaurant where you check -in has a nice themed restaurant good food and service.

This is one of ,,those,, accommodations where you want to spend the night after a week full of traveling. It is clear that the owner has a sense of detail and quality. You can feel the quality on the materials and furnishings, the equipment of the entire apartment and the services that are here. Everything is still new, clean. Situated in a quiet location. We slept very well! Parking in front of the entrance, Accessibility anywhere is perfect. Since it is new here, the accommodation does not have any review and even though I usually do not write reviews, I think this one deserves one. For the price, it is exclusive accommodation and we will definitely come back here.

Reykjavik is Iceland’s largest and most bustling city, with plenty of local Icelandic cuisine to try. The city isn’t very big, so I’d recommend either parking your car in a city parking lot or staying at a centrally located hotel. That way, you can easily explore the concert hall, Rainbow Street, and the churches on foot.

Hlid Fisherman's Village had lots of "viking" character with some very interesting maritime realia, close proximity to Icelandic horses, heritage chickens, a koi pond, cedar sauna and two rooftop hot tubs. The room was very clean, bed was comfortable and the view was to the sea.
