It's our favorite hotel in Europe because you can see (and feel) that it's run by amazing people- and you can see that in their employees. The whole family working in this hotel and providing such exceptional service and vibe is truly an inspiration. All the staff, from cleaning ladies to reception, bar and restaurant employees, is genuinely nice and caring. It's really a home away from home, just with better food, comfier rooms, and a spa. :D They even upgraded us for free to an AMAZING suite, once we realised we messed up our booking. Thank you for all your effort to accommodate us. We had a friend with many medical dietary needs, and they made sure she was taken care of. Spa is beyond, and never too full. We are counting the days until we are back!

The hotel is run by the owners, who were concerned at all times that our stay was very comfortable... they made us feel at home! The location of the hotel is very convenient for touring the valley and the facilities are perfect. The room was very spacious for my wife and my one-year-old son. The breakfast was incredible, with local hams and cheeses, as well as a variety of typical cakes and strudels; and fresh fruit. If I were to return to the Dolomites, I would definitely come back here!

FAQs about hotels in Dolomites

Spiky Peaks and Spectacular Pistes

Characterised by Tyrolean chalets and spiky peaks, the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Dolomites are a spectacular part of the Italian Alps. Some parts belonged to Austria, so German is widely spoken.

Site of several luxury Dolomites hotels on Booking.com is Cortina d’Ampezzo, a glamorous town with great après-ski and scenery that has starred in several films. To the east Auronzo di Cadore is by a tranquil lake, while Corvara is surrounded by stunning mountains. Nearby Ortisei and Selva offer fantastic skiing and rock climbing.

The riverside town of Bolzano (Bozen in German) is home to Ötzi the iceman, a 5000-year-old mummy found in the Alps above Merano, a ski resort with a castle and botanical gardens. Madonna di Campiglio in the Brenta Dolomites has access to over 150 km of ski runs, and one of the ‘vie ferrate’, hiking paths with steel handrails. Other Dolomites ski resorts are Arabba and Canazei, separated by the area’s highest pass.

Just south, Rocca Pietore is next to Marmolada, the tallest Dolomites mountain. Nearby Alleghe has a beautiful setting on a lake used for winter ice skating, while San Martino di Castrozza to the south-west has many Dolomites ski hotels near a range of pistes. The church spire of beautiful Belluno to the south-east creates a great photo opportunity against the backdrop of mountains.

An absolutely amazing stay: a historic hotel located on the Prags lake, stunning nature, quiet ambience. The owners made a great job preserving the historic elements (like pieces of furniture placed in the corridors, pictures, etc.) and adding comfort with modern facilities. I absolutely need to mention the restaurant: great breakfast with the lake view. Dinners were very tasty too: you need to choose one warm appetizer and a main course out of three choices plus a desert and buffet with a huge variety of cold appetizers. The personnel did their best so you'd feel at home. What we also loved, is the friendliest dog that belongs to the hotel owners who was accompanying us walking our dog in the morning :-) I definitely recommend staying at this hotel!

We have been in Alpenschlössl in December 2022. Very clean, good spa area with attentive personnel. This part of hotel is great for people who wants to have more calm atmosphere than in the main building. By the way very good quality of manicure, a that is rare to find. Takes time but worth it 100%. Cool bar with view, a cocktails and intertainment. I have forgotten my belongings in the room and they were sent directly home. Service was great!

The trekking routes can be reached on foot or with the Dolomiti Card, which is provided the day before your arrival and is valid for the entire duration of your stay. During the day, we took advantage of the mountain huts for lunch and local restaurants in the evening. The average price is around €25 per person per meal.

Very outdated Ski center, that probably had its glory days in the 70's. Modern day mechanics in terms of ski reachability, from tourist aspect, are not existing. Unless you are at a hotel with dedicated transport, the ski-in/ski-out experience is terrible. Ski busses are very scarce, with locations not suitable for most of apartments and rent houses. You must drive with a car every day to the main gondolas, which creates traffic jams every morning. Not to mention the overhead of paying everyday for a full day parking fees while you are skiing. This situation puts Cortina on the same level as any other low budget ski centers in Europe, which is hilarious given the fact that it will host Winter Olympic Games 2026. Skiing: Very good ski runs (red and black, FIS) - skiing is probably the only good spot in overall. Food: Compared to other nearby ski centers like Alta Badia, overrated and bad. Expected more from Italian hospitality, especially on the slopes (the food was one big joke (both in quality and quantity). Child Friendliness: There is one hilarious thing worth mentioning: When you buy Dolomiti SuperSki pass in AltaBadia, 3rd child is free. But when you buy the same tickets in Cortina, there is no discount for 3rd child??? Overall feeling compared to other expensive ski centers: Bad. Unless they make effortless way of going to ski without taking your own car every day, this is a no-go ski center. I cannot recommend it.

Nice and clean apartment. Even we only had contact with the host via the chat, the host was very helpful though. The location of apartment was perfect. It's located in the city center. Canazei is located at the southern part of the Sella Ronda domain and you need to take a couple of lifts up to the slopes. There are also buses to get to different parts of the domains, and though they run regularly their frequency changes. Apres-ski life is more on the quiet side in Canazei and while there are a lot of restaurants in the village, we didn't find anything the marked us. There's a great (but pricey) swimming pool and wellness center and shops are OK for such a village.

Everything was wonderful!

Everything was wonderful! Super clean, safe and close to attractions we took part in. A great place to hike from, to see the sites and to just sit back and enjoy the beauty all around! Getting to the location was easy...just recommend going slowly around the many turns to get up to the area you're headed....all worth it! We went up the mountain in the gondola and could hike around up there. We also ate lunch at the top and the food was great! Highly recommend! Several local shops were fun to go into. This area has a lot of great hiking available for novice to expert hikers.

Kronplatz is everyone's favorite skiing destination. Many slopes of varying difficulty. Something for everyone. All are very well groomed every single night. Lifts are refreshed / replaced by newer at extreme rates. Parking at the bottom station of the gondola is the best that you will ever experience and the price is quite affordable.

This is further to my previous review on Garni Rives.

This is further to my previous review on Garni Rives. I gave the hotel a review that reflects my honest opinion, mainly about the manager/host of the hotel. Obviously my review was not received with warmth from the hotel manager. He messaged me immediately via Whatsapp and blamed me being not polite to him, I have no idea where does this come from. I believe he has broken the golden rule of being in me the hospitality industry, if he cannot accept honest reviews, how can he improve to thrive on? The hotel itself is OK and the only problem I have is the steep climb (not the hotel's fault) and mainly the manager's manner.
