The standard at this hotel has remained exceptionally high (we visited it a few years ago). It has a brilliant breakfast arrangement where the usual buffet style mayhem is replaced by the lovely staff who give you what you want and make sure it doesn't run out. Parking no problem ample space for everyone. We didn't use the free shuttle bus but walked the short walk to the train station to get to the villages. Very hot outside but air conditioning coped well. All the staff were friendly and welcoming and worked exceptionally hard and the whole place was well run.

We had a great stay! The hotel was very clean, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the location was perfect for everything we needed, whether driving or using the hotel shuttle. Loved the service. The manager was exceptionally helpful, friendly and so so accommodating. He made taxi reservations, dinner reservations to a fabulous restaurant he recommended - which by the way, was our favorite restaurant from our entire trip. He also printed out the train schedule and explained how it worked. The room was amazingly comfort, we got upgraded without even requesting an upgrade. The bed was really comfy. Very clean. Loved all the staff, the breakfast was included and was so delicious, so was the cappuccinos yum! I highly recommend this hotel, and will absolutely stay there again in the future.

FAQs about hotels in Cinque Terre

Cliff-Hugging Beauty

One of Liguria’s most beautiful areas, the Cinque Terre are 5 UNESCO World Heritage-listed villages dramatically positioned on the Mediterranean coastline.

Each has a train station, but the most exhilarating way to visit the Cinque Terre is on foot. It’s not easy at times, but is definitely rewarding. The route starts (or finishes) at Riomaggiore, the southern-most village, home to a range of accommodation including a few Cinque Terre hotels on the beach.

The easy road between here and Manarola is called the Via dell’Amore, or Lovers’ Lane. Colourful Manarola houses hug the rocky cliffs overlooking the turquoise water below. The next village along is Corniglia, the only one not by the beach, but which offers panoramic views from its hilltop position.

Next is Vernazza, arguably the most picturesque of the 5, spread over a narrow promontory jutting into the sea and with a castle tower at its tip. Still very much a fishing village, it is centred around its small harbour and beach.

The longest beach is at Monterosso al Mare, the last town on the trail. Due to its location and easy access, it is home to what are possibly the best Cinque Terre hotels for families on Booking.com. However, whichever village you choose to stay in, you can expect wonderful views and fantastic food.

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel in Monterosso! The location is absolutely perfect - just a short walk from the train station, directly opposite the beach, and within easy walking distance to the town center. It made getting around so convenient. The staff was fantastic - so warm, friendly, and full of great local suggestions that really helped us make the most of our visit. The breakfast each morning was pretty good, too. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Honestly, everything was perfect. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Monterosso!

Loved being in Levanto! Easy access to Cinque Terre but away from the hoards of tourists. The property is right in the heart of Levants and the bikes they provide are an added benefit—try the ride through the old train tunnels to the next two towns. Close to the beach and lots of restaurants. Friendly, welcoming and very helpful staff.

La Spezia is an excellent little town to use as a home base when planning to travel to Cinque Terre, Portofino, and other close-by destinations. The train station is within walking distance and you will find one of the wonderful “Markets” taking place every Sunday where we found some great bargains on shoes, coats, other clothing, delicious homemade pastries cooked right there, and many knick knacks. Every Wednesday, there is also a strictly clothing and shoes Market going on as well. Fresh fruits, vegetables and fish Market also takes place in the same location as the Sunday market.

We loved the whole Cinque Terre region.

We loved the whole Cinque Terre region. Scorce di Mare had a wonderful location, right on the sea in Riomaggiori. Highlights of our Riomaggiore experience was the wonderful private wine tasting coordinated by Scorce di Mare that highlighted the CT wineries, walking from Rio to Manarola on the Via del Amore hiking trail on the way to the Nessun Dorma pesto making class we took(a highlight of our trip), getting gelato in Corniglia and the beautiful Riomaggiore sunsets! We loved our visit to the Cinque Terre region and our stay in Riomaggiore. One note to keep into consideration, there are many stairs that need to be navigated in Rio. So, if that is an issue, you should take that into consideration.

You will have a hard time finding a more perfect location than Casa Lella <3 The view to the sea and the boats and the hills directly outside the two big front windows, the staircase lifting you above streetlevel, the beach directly to your left and Carrefour directly to your right simply could not be any better. Picturesque, relatively small and quiet compared to the other cinque Terre towns. Centrally located so I could begin day walks in both directions. Best not to carry heavy luggage up the hill from the train station (around 380 steps) - use the bus… only 1,50 Euros but expect to wait 15-30 mins at peak time. The walks to Vernazza and on to Monterosso, and also the walk to Manarola are magnificent, just be prepared for lots of steps.

We stayed in Framura so as to visit the Cinque Terre (not Framura as such). We felt the Cinque Terre to be over-rated and very expensive and with lots of unnecessary complexity about tickets for trains in and even having to pay for walks. We went elsewhere for our third full day in the area. We did really enjoy one walk and the time in Vernazza but not Monterosso. We were glad we went to Porte Venere on the boat rather than get out at Rioreggio.
