We recently had the pleasure of staying at Residence Kalipe, and I must say, it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly by Claudio and his wide and the hospitality extended by the host truly made our stay memorable. Their attention to detail and genuine care for their guests was evident in every interaction. The apartment was Impeccably clean and comfortable, providing a cozy retreat after a long day of skiing. What truly set this residence apart, however, was the kindness and helpfulness of the host. They went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed during our stay, offering valuable recommendations for local attractions and dining options. we loved our stay in Agriturismo Alagna it was such a pleasure to meet all the animals and the people there, we had a room for a couple wiht Breakfast and it was a gooe breakfast and a good bed at night, nice and warm. The location is indeed a bit on the mountain but after we got used to claiming up with the car (only 4 min) from central road, we were ok with the driving to the location. We loved the white cat, and the cute popies and dogs on the farm, and of course the green pastoral view to the mountains and the sounds of the bells of the cows and hourses was so pleasent. It is near the alpain mountains and Monta Rosa, also near good trainls. Thank you so much for hosting us!

We are walking the GTA.

We are walking the GTA. Alagna is a great place for a few days rest and to explore the local villages. It’s a great place to learn more about the Walser people and their culture. There are quite a few restaurants to choose from. We really enjoyed Bar Centro for its local feel, especially for a pre dinner drink.

Arrived after 10 pm.

Arrived after 10 pm. The hotel was deserted and we used a code to enter. The hotel is located outside the city, in a short driving distance. We couldn’t find any place open at that time. Only on the next morning we realized that we should have driven a little further, behind the city wall, into the city. The bed could be improved

Ancient village like many in this valley, you can still see...

Ancient village like many in this valley, you can still see some of the houses were built into the old walls. Good wine area, Ioppa on the hill, Gattinara just across the river and Ghemme about 5 miles down the road. There used to be an excellent restaurant in the medieval tower, closed for Covid and not yet resuscitated. But there are fine walks, both up into the hills and along the river Sesia. Motorway about 5 mins drive away. I should have taken photos.

Alagna is a hidden gem. 17th century architecture in a ski resort at a very affordable price. Superb hiking in the summer. Good restaurants and wine bars and a cool vibe. It’s not for everyone but for me it hits the spot every time. If skiing and hiking aren’t your scene, some of Europe’s best kayaking is also on your doorstep. Valsesia is one of the few valleys with no hydroelectric dams in the upper river making it a paradise for kayaking.

Super quiet. Nice, long red and black runs. No queues. Very few beginners. Sufficient artificial snow to keep runs to village open. Pretty village. Lift system a bit disjointed. Back country and off piste very limited due lack of snow. No pizzeria!
