very close to the train station. If you have heavy luggage, you might want to book in a place close to the station. Don’t worry much about how far is it from the main attractions since Venice is relatively small city. A truly clean and classy hotel with nice staff … highly recommend!

FAQs about hotels in Veneto

Inspiration for Artist and Architect

The Veneto offers relaxation and recreation in world-famous cities and wonderful landscapes. Words don’t do justice to its ever-serene capital Venice, a captivating maze of canals and monuments. Cheap hotels in Venice are scarce, but Mestre across the lagoon offers more budget options.

Cheap flights to Venice land in Treviso, a little version of that fabled city. Also centred on canals is beautiful Chioggia, home to several Veneto hotels on the beach. Yet more are in Caorle, near its distinctive 11th-century bell tower and waterfront church. Another family-friendly Veneto resort with a long beach is Lido di Jesolo.

In studenty Padua, Giotto’s 14th-century frescoes in the Scrovegni Chapel are bursting with colour. The majestic Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza was designed by Palladio, the prolific architect whose villas and churches cover the Veneto. Romantic Verona inspired Romeo and Juliet and has an incredibly well-preserved Roman arena hosting summer opera.

Nearby Lake Garda offers many luxury hotels in the Veneto on Booking.com. By its eastern shore is the popular Gardaland theme park, the elegant Garda promenade, and the wineries of Bardolino.

Grappa was invented in riverfront Bassano del Grappa, and nearby Asolo is one of the region’s most beautiful hill towns. Belluno is overlooked by the Dolomites, while Abano Terme is a spa town by the Colli Euganei, whose undulating hills house vineyards.

We loved the absence of motor vehicles, just people walking everywhere. The seafood was great! We enjoyed a tour of Doge's Palace, and a tour of Burano and Murano (including a glass blowing demonstration).

If you compare Verona city center to that of Florence, it is far more condensed, which makes it easy to get around particularly on foot. If you're looking to take in most of the sites, purchasing the Verona Card makes life easier. That said, most sites are closed on Mondays, so plan accordingly. You can visit most everything in two-days. Would recommend spending a third day for a day trip to Lake Garda or the nearby vineyards.

The area of Mestre near the train station is safe and convenient, but not very pretty. Like many cities, it has a large immigrant population, so it doesn't feel very Italian, which you expect to when in Italy. HOWEVER, once you walk to the center of Mestre, about 15 minutes from the train station, or a couple stops by bus/tram, the town center of Mestre is really lovely with a great museum, big pretty square, nice shops and lots of great places to have a spritz and some ciccheti outside, so I definitely recommend people to take the time to see the town center. That said, we did enjoy all the non-Italian places to eat in Mestre, we had some great Indian food, which was a comforting break after eating Italian food for 3 weeks.

Easily reached from Verona and an interesting place with it's massive Venetian style defensive walls. It has a couple of pretty areas, but there isn't a lot else of historic interest here. Plenty of nice places to eat though, with Osteria Rivelin and Amici Miei Tipicoteca the standouts that we tried. From here you can use the ferries and buses to go elsewhere quite easily - as long as you are relaxed about bus timetables. Theme parks Gardaland and Movieland are pretty close by as well, for the kids. Finally, the people are lovely and friendly everywhere.

It's not the cheapest town in the area, and not every place has the same high standards. Lots of Olympic construction going on, both in town and all around, so watch out for delays and possible noise. But you'll get over that once you smell the air and see the views. Treviso is worth a visit if you are near or close to Venice. It's a very walkable town with ancient roots and lots of great shops and places of interest. We were mostly stayed within the city walls chose a neighborhood with amazing shops, cafes, and restaurants. It also felt more diverse in population than some of the other towns we visited - both in age and ethnicity (probably due to the local university and the fact that the city also hosts a lot of study abroad programs). Some memorable places we went to include * Cathedral of St. Peter the Apostle (a/k/a the Duomo) * Osteria Dalla Gigia for a quick bites/small snacks (highly recommend the mozzarella in carrozza if it's available) * Toni del Spin - a trattoria with a great wine list * Mangiafuoco - a lovely children's shop that specializes in paper mache, wood, and fabric toys and decor * Noberasco 1908 dried fruit specialty store (the slightly sweetened dried orange slices are like no other) * Camelia Bakery

Jesolo was quiet and lots of restaurants closed for the season, however still enough choices. We travelled 4th October. The transport options were still excellent and extremely good value, we used buses and ferries. We travelled to Venice via coach from Jesolo bus station and also to punta sabbioni to catch the ferry to island hop to Bruano and murano then on to Venice to then catch the direct ferry back to punta Sabbioni (which is about 25 mins on local bus from the closest bus stop (5 mins) from Superior Beach aparthotel. Jesolo was clean and the beach, being out of bathing water season was still very clean and tidy and wonderful to walk on, the sand is very soft. We would definitely visit during May - Sept also.
