The palace is highly impressive, historical and beautiful, but very well maintained and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They even offered to help arrange a wine tasting tour in the region. We ordered breakfast for the stay. Both the food and in room dining experiences were very nice. Everything is just perfect.

Wonderful place to stay. I have stayed here a couple of times now and will also visit in the future. The premises and the rooms are well maintained and very clean. The staff, both at the reception and in the restaurant, make you really feel at home. The breakfast is really good. Also the restaurant serves a very good dinner. Again, wonderful place to stay.

Turin is such a beautiful city with lots of grand squares and perfect for meandering at a leisurely pace. The river Po opens up views to the apls beyond where Mont Blanc dominates the skyline. I loved visiting the Fiat factory and their rooftop test track at Lingotto but there were some well-crafted modern buildings which surprised me. The city is accessible with trams and metro but walking is easy too - there are not many hills. Eating out is cheaper than most other european cities. There is a feeling of the city being lived-in and I think it's a hidden gem as tourist numbers seem to be low. Go spend a weekend - you'll love it!

Siena is very safe and clean.

Siena is very safe and clean. Architecture and city layout out is like stepping back in time. Bus services are excellent. Great base for walking and touring Tuscany. Siena is far less tourist intense than other Italian cities like Florence. My second favourite city in Italy to Bologna.

An underrated gem.

An underrated gem. Lucca has so much heart; no modern buildings, or anything to take you out of the serene setting of this city. Being so close to Pisa and Florence, it gets unfortunately overshadowed. However if you want the authentic Italian experience Lucca is a must. From wine tasting in the hills, to fantastic dinners around the city, this place to me, ranks far above the larger cities we saw on this trip. The cathedral and churches are a must, as well as the walk around the city wall. Although not too much to explore around the area, you slip right in to the daily life of an Italian. Morning focaccia and a cauppicono to the afternoon relax, Lucca is highly recommended for those who want to take a slow trip to just enjoy good wine, good food, and a lifestyle to dream of!

La Spezia is an excellent little town to use as a home base when planning to travel to Cinque Terre, Portofino, and other close-by destinations. The train station is within walking distance and you will find one of the wonderful “Markets” taking place every Sunday where we found some great bargains on shoes, coats, other clothing, delicious homemade pastries cooked right there, and many knick knacks. Every Wednesday, there is also a strictly clothing and shoes Market going on as well. Fresh fruits, vegetables and fish Market also takes place in the same location as the Sunday market.

Loved how interesting Aosta was - Roman Ruins and a lot of history plus great bar & restaurant choices & friendly locals. Very busy each evening when everyone takes an aperitivo & a stroll & easy to get to by coach from Turin. Easy access to other towns & ski resorts in the Aosta Valley too. Also very reasonably priced compared to England.

This is a must see for Italy lovers, in my opinion.

This is a must see for Italy lovers, in my opinion. The history and art is extremely interesting and the ancient city is one you can get lost in, wandering down narrow charming streets, stumbling upon a palazzo from medieval times, or coming upon a breathtaking view. Viterbo is not a curated experience, such as Montalcino or Montepulciano. It is a bit gritty and caters to its community, not tourists. Its Etruscan and medieval era history and art is exceptional if limited. A great stopping off point if heading north from Rome. There are hot springs in the area which we didn't have time to experience.

We are hikers and rock climbers, the location was good for climbing in nearby Monsummano, Several Via Ferattas are within an hour or two drive. The restaurants are many and most are quite good, especially in Montecatini Alto. For those who like to shop, the main plaza has a plethora of sores, including high end shops.

Nice historical town. Small enough to walk around.

Nice historical town. Small enough to walk around. It was bombed by US/UK during the war, so a lot of historical buildings got damaged. A few masterpieces not to be missed: Botticelli in the Civic museum, Pordenone in Santa Maria Di Campagna, the Etruscan liver in Cubic museums.
