The staff were amazingly accommodating welcoming us after a long flight from Australia with tea and croissants then ferried us to the Petra entrance as soon as we asked. We toured Petra twice and to our delight in the morning before being taken to the Petra Gates in the hotel bus we were presented with lunch bags complimentary to make our day just that much better. After visiting each time we were picked up by the hotel mini bus and taken back to the venue after calling them on the phone number they provided again complimentary. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff of this hotel. It was wonderful. To top it off Zayed booked a private transfer for us to Aqaba and as usual with this venue the car turned up right on time. My friends chose to stay here during the day and hike the trails accessible from the campsite while I hiked Wadi Dana trail - an excellent option that requires less logistical coordination and more time to enjoy what's right there, including the delicious food. Fantastic staff, friendly and welcoming, happy to offer u an upgrade if possible, food was lovely, views were epic, we stayed in dome with the en suite bathroom, it was just Great..we were sad to stay just one night and wish we could stay longer. Probably my rating or comment is not suitable for every travelers as foreigner but living in Jordan for long time. Definitely, I need 5 star hotels in Dead Sea or Aqaba to refresh myself and my family regularly. But Dana is a great place to also have regular visit as it is located within 2.5 hours range from my home in Amman, and to experience this great nature in reasonable expense. we have encountered fraudulent behavior on the part of the accommodation operator. after making the reservation via "booking.com" we arrived to the location - meeting with the resort representative "Ahmad" we were taken to another camp resort ( very old, nor matching the pictures during the booking, empty ) being told that the other "camp" is full... but 1 room could still be found - as long as we're happy to pay double price. We accepted as we're in the middle of desert. But this was clearly deliberate fraudulent conduct. The village has been abandoned and then rebuilt as a hotel. It sits above a valley and has a stunning view that goes all the way to the Dead Sea. The very friendly Musaad made sure that everyone felt welcome and helped. He also set up a guide for our trip to the nearby Sela' fortress, which is a very interesting Nabataean site. The reserve is beautiful.
The reserve is beautiful. We spent 3 days hiking and hardly saw any other people. Amazing colors and sweeping vistas. Definitely go with a knowledgeable guide to get the best experience. Stay at the Jabal Dana Hotel for great views and amazing food.Guest review byLinda - 10

Petra is always a magical place in your imagination.
Petra is always a magical place in your imagination. However it does not compare to the real thing! No matter how vivid your imagination! You need at least two whole days if not three to really enjoy the sights of Petra. We stayed a short distance away from the visitor center closer to the town centre where there are lovely restaurants and a more local vibe. Great location right next to little Petra and 5 minutes from Petra. Suggest you take a car to the top (Rear) of Petra and enter near the monastery then walk down hill towards the entrance as it is a big day of walking. Hotel has lovely staff and very helpful. Every night was a large outdoor fire with tea service and music while the hills had lights on them for great photos.
