- amazing rooftop onsen (from the women’s bath little window you can see the castle!) - with free ice cream afterwards - big rooms, with comfortable beds and cute decorations to give a traditional feeling (even the ceiling had 2 different types of wood paneling. Mine had a view of the canal. Higher ones could have a castle or lake view. - amazing breakfast buffet, with a lot of local specialties (Izumo soba, zenzai…) - within walking distance of the castle and historical houses.

We had an unforgettable experience at this place! The house itself is like something out of a fairytale — a traditional Japanese home, yet finished to an exceptionally high standard and absolutely stunning. The location in the heart of the old city is just perfect! The real highlight, however, is the team. They are true professionals, kind and attentive to every little detail. It was such a joy to meet such warm and welcoming people who grew up in the area. Breakfast was another unforgettable moment — prepared by the in-house chef, it felt like a fine dining experience served in the most beautiful room. Overall, an outstanding stay. My husband and I stayed here for our 21st anniversary. I can’t say enough FANTASTIC things about this hotel!!! It’s BEAUTIFUL AND CLEAN!!! The staff are INCREDIBLE!!! I had a little mishap in which I had to go to the hospital. The staff arranged everything. They called my insurance company for me so that I could let them know what was happening then they called the hospital and made a reservation for me so after arriving by taxi the hospital were expecting me. (That was a pleasant experience in itself) The staff called the hospital the next morning to make sure I received everything I needed for my insurance company. I also found for a 4 star hotel that it was very reasonably priced. I would stay here in a heartbeat again and I promise you that you won’t be disappointed if you choose to stay here as well! It’s also right next to great shopping, a great food court and of course the train, plus most tours meet right at this station.
