Very nice new small hotel. The room was decent size with Japanese standards. Very nice design, a lot of light wood. Good location, walking distance to the station( if you can roll your bag), walking distance to the samurai district. Nice small restaurants around. The staff was very welcoming, they offer free udon in the evening, all drinks in the room are free including beer. They gave us a small goody bag with sweets at the checkout. We would definitely stay there again.

Hyatt Centric is a 3 minute walk from the Kanazawa train station. On exiting from the gantry, turn left and go through the exit along Starbucks. Take a left bend at another Starbucks and you can see the hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The decor, right from the entrance to the lobby to the rooms, is fantastic. Room was surprisingly large and tastefully furnished. Because of its central location, it’s within walking distance to many attractions such as Kenrokuen gardens, Samurai district and Omicho market among others. Would stay here again! We had dinner on the 14th at the restaurant, very good food. Note: The staff are standing all the time from morning to evening for some reason, they should be allowed to sit when the can I feel.

This is a remarkable ryokan, well-managed and run with high, traditional Japanese standards. The location is excellent, tucked away overlooking the river, yet only a short walk into town. There is plenty of on-site, free parking. Staff are warm and welcoming; helpful and very professional. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was large, with a small lounge area overlooking the river and the hills beyond. The futon bedding was extremely comfortable, with crisp linens, soft pillows and fluffy duvets. Everything was very, very clean and well-maintained. There was an abundance of fresh towels and yakuta from which you could help yourself. There are free snacks, coffee, sake, noodle bowls, and ice cream at various times during the day. The indoor public and outdoor, private baths are lovely, with almost every amenity you could wish for. Breakfast was cooked to order and delicious.

The staff spoke good english and were extemely helpful. The food included in the half board price served in private dining areas was amazingly well presented traditional Japanese food. That looked and tasted out of this world. Some of the best food we had on our trip to Japan and we stayed in several expensive Ryokan. Lovely private or public outdoor onsen or in a subterranean cave. The Noto peninsular is still recovering from the earthquake of Jan 2024 and the terrible flooding in Sept 2024 but a trip there is well worthwhile to see the scenery and see how well the repairs are progressing

Lovely walkable city, not to mention peaceful. Easy to get around by walking and tram. It's a nice break to relax and unwind from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo/Osaka. Indian Hat in Maroot centre for good halal food. A short train ride to Kanazawa which one requires at least two days there.

Nanta-dera is only a 15 minute drive away which was beautiful with the autumn leaves. The walk along the river in Yamanaka is stunning all year round. Yamanake is famous for wood turning so there is plenty of crafts to see. Nearby and also huge ancient cedar trees and it is an area of plentiful hot springs.

A lovely city with a nice variety of attractions and friendly, helpful people. The highlights for us were near our hotel. The Kenrokuen Gardens and the Castle. We took advantage of their free, English speaking guides. Thank you Kanazawa. We loved the matcha tea experience at the gardens. It was easy to walk between these two beautiful sites and then over to the lovely, serene Oyama Shrine where we took so many photos. Lots of excellent restaurants, especially seafood.. If I were to return, I would probably hire or join a tour for the samurai and geisha areas.

With an excellent accommodation Guesthouse KEN, our family able to get properly recharged to visit many other places within and around Tomaya and the region. Supermarket and many F&B establishments are just a few minutes drive away. Will surely book this accommodation again in our future trip when my family visit Tomaya again. We enjoyed the parts of town we were able to experience during our short stay. The train station and surrounding area is dinosaur themed. It's really quite cool and very unique. During our stay we visited the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum which our family (kids are aged 14 & 11) enjoyed. The train (and bus) trip to the museum was scenic and very pleasant. Due to the size of Fukui it was easy to get around. There are plenty of places to eat and shop (again not too far from the train station). I wish we could've stayed a little longer.
