The room size was fantastic for families and we really appreciated the shared spaces since we were traveling with friends. The location was perfect—just a short walk to the mountain, bakery for breakfast and the onsen. During our visit there was more snow on the neighboring mountains that we drove to. Overall highly recommend hotel due to the great location.

This is a very special guesthouse, standing for 200 years. It has been very well maintained and refurbished. It has been stylishly decorated, while maintaining its original charm. Guests can use the lounge area that looks onto a small courtyard which is very tranquil and the perfect place to chill. It offers a lot more space than usually available in Japan, with modern facilities for shower. Special commendation to Oki who has been extremely welcoming and helpful from the start, and throughout my stay. Their breakfast are truly exceptional. The almond butter toast is the best I've ever tasted and having a small bowl of soup in the morning is so warming. It is located directly in the merchants quarter, and close to the bus stop. There are very few people, so it's amazing to walk down the historic street and soaking in the atmosphere of ancient Japan, in peace and quiet, especially in the evenings.

This hotel is beautiful, the pictures don't do it justice. The suites are well designed and comfortable for families and solo travellers alike. It gives the feel of a traditional ryokan with modern amenities. Staff are helpful and responsive and they helped me plan day trips around Toyooka. It's a great place to stay if you want to spend time in Kinosakionsen. I stayed there for a week.

Beautiful location and a special place, very family friendly. Onsen was lovely and the water left our hair and skin so soft! Amenities were high quality and skin care lotions all provided for a full onsen and ryokan experience. Yakatas were beautiful and sizes for whole family. We really enjoyed the traditional Japan experience and beautiful tatami room with amazing view of the mountains. We wanted to stay another night.

1. Room had sea views and enjoyed sunset (until neighbouring rooms smoked at their balcony) 2. Great service, and they remembered it’s our anniversary trip. Dinner experience was special too, like any Michelin starred restaurant with local produce and ingredients. Loved their Awaji beef. Good breakfast buffet spread. 3. I had never stayed at a hotel from this chain and was surprised by the very high level it delivered for the cost. The room was relatively spacious (especially the bathroom) with a clear view of the Himeji castle. The hotel itself is beautiful and is located perfectly between the train station and the castle, allowing for easy access to both. The staff were very professional and courteous.

The rooms were spacious and it was interesting how they were themed. I loved the scent of the hand soap. The breakfast didn’t disappoint at all. The view from my room was amazing! I was on the 11th floor and could see the entire port. The room itself was spacious, the bathroom as well. There was a fridge, a huge tv, actually anything you need. The bed was big as well. Perfect!

Kobe offers much to see and do.

Kobe offers much to see and do. More days there could easily be filled with worthwhile adventures. Historical and environmental environments are very nice. It is also a bit more off the beaten track of tourist traffic except for Himeji Castle, which is spectacular. Transportation and shopping and dining offerings are excellent.The Maya Ropeway is fun and hiking options on the mountain beautiful. The waterfront area offers many historical and recreational options. The Port of Kobe Tower is worth the visit and has a variety of attractions.

After staying in Kyoto, it was refreshing to stay in a smaller, quieter city for a couple of days. Himeji, had ample malls and restaurants to satisfy the needs of all tourists and yet has a nice small city feel. We saw the castle in the afternoon, and didn't encounter large crowds. The Koko-en Garden was relatively quiet when we saw it in the morning.

Kinosaki onsen is a charming small town.

Kinosaki onsen is a charming small town. Most of the tourists were Japanese who come to the hot springs. Most people are dressed in traditional yukatas and walk around the town in them and wooden sandals. We also took a short train ride to Takeno Beach a beautiful beach on the sea of Japan.

I visited the theme park Nijigen No Morii with Naruto and...

I visited the theme park Nijigen No Morii with Naruto and Dragonquest Island and both was amazing. Ill definitely come Back to the Park. It's a bit tricky to get around with the local (limited) buses as there run only about once every hour so a rental car ist the better option. From Iwaya Port theres a Shuttle bus to Nijigen No Morii and the hello Kitty sites, it's free and stops on a couple of sites along the route. The Shuttle operates from 10am to 9pm.

Amagasaki is a great 'real' town so close to Osaka, but with its own character. We saw a diverse mix of people from all walks of life. Working class, business people, skateboarders, old people playing ukelele in the park. There is a nice old shopping street which is not to be missed. Some good old 'Showa' era coffee shops. We didn't get to do half the things we planned. Will be back!

It is sad to see dying city, even small one. Nothing to do there, difficult to find a nice place to eat even food prices are high. Ohama beach is nice, however there are some creatures in the sea which sting you. Overrated place to visit.

It is close enough to Osaka and Hiroshima to do a day trip and has a lot of unexpected surprises, like waterfalls located 15 minutes walk behind San Kobe station. There are also a number of Ropeways and Cable Cars that take you up to the hiking trails in the mountains behind Kobe. The waterfront area is also very interesting, with an earthquake museum, which details the restoration of the Kobe Harbour after an earthquake, in just 2 years. There is also a nightly light and water show near the Kobe Tower.

Great city.

Great city. I enjoyed visiting this city, especially the Himeji Castle. This was the third times I visit Himeji Castle. Public transportation was convenient. I would recommend spending at least two full days at this city.

Wonderful place to stay for a few nights away from the...

Wonderful place to stay for a few nights away from the hustle and bustle of Osaka and Kyoto. Kinosaki Onsen is absolutely charming and beautiful, and I strongly recommend renting a bike to cycle up north to the Kinosaki Marine World; the views along the coastline are breathtaking.
