The pool areas are stunning and there is a sauna and hot tub as well. The restaurant food is five star - really interesting Mediterranean but with a Japanese twist. The room was incredibly spacious and had great facilities.

We have are very eager travelers, we have always been lucky enough to find great people and great places in our journeys, but nothing will ever top the kindness and hospitality we experienced in this Hotel. The hosts are a lovely couple (both speak English very well), they helped us from the very first moment: early check-in, breakfast delivered in the evenings for our early starts of the days, bookings of restaurants, suggestions for beaches, gyms, car rentals... On top.of this, the structure sits in a quiet neighborhood right in front of the sea, the rooms are spotless, the water pressure is high, internet works perfectly and the amenities are amazing (just to mention one, the usage of the laundry is free of charge). Cruz Del Sur exceeded our expectations on all fronts and for now is on its own a good reason to hope, one day we will have a chance to visit Ishigaki once again.

These unique cottages are thoughtfully designed and nicely maintained. Very cozy and quiet. The location is a few minutes walk from Fusaki beach by quiet single-lane roads. You can walk up the hill for views around the island and beautiful sunsets. The ceiling over the bed is glass so you can look at the stars at night. A star shower coincided with my stay and I saw numerous falling stars while laying in bed. Not an experience you are going to get anywhere else. The owner was incredibly thoughtful and kind and made my stay even better. The cottage has more amenities than more expensive places I have stayed.

Reika and staff were amazing. Exceptionally kind and helpful. They would even go out of their ways to help us reserve certain restaurants / activities in short notice (I found out that they drove to the city to try to reserve one particularly famous restaurant when it didn't take phone calls). English is not an issue which was also great. Room / facility was very clean and home-like. Everything was well organized. Location is right next to the Fusaki Beach which boasts a great sunset scenery, and quite close to Ishigaki port / city where you can enjoy many restaurants and local activities. Small things like renting Okinawa-style clothes for kids and snorkeling gear for free was also a plus. And the kids loved playing with the small animals (owl, bunnies, ducks, parrots, etc.). Definitely our hotel of choice next time we visit Ishigaki.

This hotel is located in a rather advantageous location, not far from the main town of the island. Besides the rare city buses, you can take a taxi to the ferry terminal for as little as 1,000 yen or even walk there in 30 min. In fact, we were given not a classic hotel room, but a huge apartment of three rooms that could accommodate about 6-8 people. In addition, the hotel has helpful staff. One of them (unfortunately, I don’t know his name) spoke good English, which is very rare for Japanese hotels. Finally, the hotel offers a rather modest but acceptable breakfast. Apart from this, I can’t say anything good about this strange place.

One of the best accommodations we have ever stayed at and an unforgettable highlight of our entire trip to Japan. Total privacy, a great pool, and a luxurious but not overly large or ostentatious villa. A private sea-view lookout with stunning sunsets, accessible by a path through a dense jungle teeming with coconut crabs, birds, and other wildlife. Access to a local beach for very nice snorkeling and the Blue Cave. Very friendly staff and a beautiful restaurant. We would definitely stay here again.

Location was on a gorgeous sandy beach with boat tours that left right in front of the hotel. The breakfast buffet was great, the room was spacious and had an amazing view of the ocean, and the staff was very nice and helpful. There were two small shops in the hotel and you could rent bicycles to go to Kabira.

Clean, relaxing, centrally located and the hotel has very helpful staff. There’s restaurants inside (although we didn’t use, but it’s great for convenience), and many restaurants just outside in walking distance. Across the road from the big car park and port too. Loved it here and would stay again

Just a great Island with spectacular beaches and tropical...

Just a great Island with spectacular beaches and tropical rainforest. You do need a car but then its easy to get around the Island. Best beaches Fusaki and Sunset. Take a hike up to through the Tropical Forest to Mount Omoto (a challenge !). Take a day boat trip and go snorkelling with Hori and watch the Manta Rays.

Great place for people liking dark skies, quiet, and not many people. Do your research on the Island and find the beautiful places to visit. Beaches, Caves, Dark Skies, very nice locals. How can you go wrong? Be sure to rent (in advance) a car at the airport so you can travel around this farming and beautiful island.

It’s a perfect hotel to be just one day in the Ishigaki city. It’s big, clean and all the services that you can need for a night. You can Ho walking to the center of the city where you will find a lot of restaurants and shops.

It is a stunning island with beautiful beaches, If you are staying for a week, it is worth hiring a car. It is right hand drive and the roads are relatively quiet and peaceful. Otherwise, it is manageable on the public bus system which is cost effective and very efficient but you must check the timetables as each service runs to specific times (not on the hour). We enjoyed walking around Ishigaki town area and the public market. Kabira Bay is a must visit as it is utterly stunning, and apart from peak times (boat trip start/end) it is a tiny peaceful place.

After more than 8 visits in the last 4 years ( and counting)...

After more than 8 visits in the last 4 years ( and counting)i can only say is , Dont stay here its a bad island, place is infested with bugs and jelly fish . Trash everywhere , stinky cattle smell everywhere. Beaches are ugly and people are rude. The food are terrible and facilities are non existent. Good luck getting sick in the remote island! Go somewhere else ( Miyako and Naha) so we wont have anyone else to compete with our beloved island with! shoo!
