Super comfortable hotel! Small room but everything is well laid out and thought through making it convenient and comfortable despite the space. Super clean hotel. The staff there is the friendliest i’ve met in Japan, coin laundry is easy to operate and there is a ladies only laundry room, all monitor-able from the comfort of your room from the tv screen. Coffee available at the lobby, Family Mart just downstairs and many restaurants and the hotel is right on the shopping street where the Sunday Market is too. My mum and i absolutely enjoyed our stay for 5 days here.

One of the best hotels of our Japan trip. The location is excellent—right at the edge of the town centre, with the entrance to the commercial arcade and food streets just steps away. Check-in couldn’t have been smoother, and the staff’s friendliness and professionalism are a solid 10/10. Parking available onsite was great. The onsen on the 5th floor is heaven on earth, complete with a sauna and cold baths—the feature I appreciate most in an onsen. We went to bed so relaxed and slept like babies! Thank you—we’ll definitely be staying here again on future trips to Kochi!

Location was perfect, close to Hirome Market, shops and restaurants. Great base to move around Kochi. Rooms were of a good size. Bed was very comfortable. Everything worked well. Staff were polite and spoke English.

The hotel offers perfect services, the staff is very nice and helpful, parking at the hotel is very convenient. The hotel has an excellent location with an amazing view of Dogo Onsen. It also has private elevator access to the main shopping district. The room was super clean and wonderfully designed. Everything was thought out to the last detail and had a very luxurious feel, from the balcony there is a great view of Dogo Onsen and all of Matsuyama with the castle and mountains in the distance. As part of the accommodation, you can visit the onsen on the top floor with an amazing view, or you can book a private onsen. We used this option and highly recommend it, everything was prepared, perfectly clean, an amazing experience. The rooms have a selection of traditional home clothes, including shoes, sorted by size. Live piano evenings in the hall are also a bonus. The stay at the hotel was perfect, both due to the professional approach of the staff and the great atmosphere. If you want to have a great experience of your stay in Matsuyama, definitely stay at this hotel. Thank you Katerina a Tobias

Maki was so friendly, welcoming and helpful! She recommended local restaurants for dinner, and invited me to join the tacoyaki party they were having that evening. The 8 bed dorm was lovely- gorgeous wood beds and cool decor. The beds were comfy and private. I was lucky since there were only 4 of us in the room, but I think it would be spacious enough even if it were full. Definitely the nicest guesthouse I’ve stayed at in Japan.

Although it was a remote location and minimalistic stay, we really enjoyed the stay and would put it as one of our favourites in Japan. The privacy and Nature are unmatched, and the onsen/ gym facilities are an added bonus that most of the cheaper range hotels don’t have. 10/10 would recommend

This was a true, bonafide, traditional Japanese ryokan experience! There is so much history that it justifies the facilities being older. The whole experience was wonderful, especially the kind and excellent staff.

Perfect size city , all the mod cons without the mad cap rat race of Tokyo or Osaka. Excellent amount of restaurants and food outlets with a great food hall at the bottom of the main shopping area. Close to the ocean and mountains with out door pursuits like hiking and white water rafting a short train ride up the valley .

It was a fantastic lovely and cosy and traditional japanese accomodation. I recommend it for everybody! Its surrounded by the beautiful Shimantoriver for walks, biketours and swimming in the summer. The host is so friendly and helpful. Just go there and see!

We were there for two days, which felt a bit short.

We were there for two days, which felt a bit short. The castle is a must-see, if only for the view from the top, of the city with mountains in the background. The Sunday Market is also a must, if you're there on the weekend. The small Science Museum near the castle was fun and very hands on, mainly for kids but also a nice detour for adults. We also found a Back to the Future DeLorean in the Automobile Museum, which was a nice surprise. Katsuo (bonito) is famous in Kochi, it's flame cooked a little on the outside but still raw on the inside and pretty tasty.

Kochi is a good place to walk around.

Kochi is a good place to walk around. I didn't have that much time there, but I could walk on the main shopping street, talk to very friendly locals, see nice buldings like shrines and the castle.
