Great location and close to many local bars, restaurants and the Main Street. Room was huge by Japan standards, and very clean and space efficient. Staff were so friendly, and shared personal recommendations on what to see and do in the area. Will definitely be staying here again when we’re back in Kyoto.

Modern and relaxing atmosphere. Very specious room, clean and extremely comfortable bed. The best hotel of our Japan trip so far: we spent 4 nights here and I would definitely stay again. The hotel wasn’t crowded at all, very quiet. Such a good experience , especially for this price! There’s a bar/cafe downstairs but we didn’t had anything. Amazing location, we walked to all the main spots. The staff was very nice and they all speak English wonderfully. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Most of all, services of the hotel is superb. I had been there during Cherry blossom season, the hotel provided Cherry blossom news of the blooming everyday. Concierge team of the hotel was very attentive, they recommended and booked many good places to eat for us. Breakfast is very good with many choices in both buffet and a la carte menu, including some Thai food. I had dinner at Koyo, teppanyagi restaurant at the hotel, it was also very good cooking and reasonable price.

loved this hotel, really nice spacious clean rooms, lots of thoughtful touches like cookies in the rooms, phone cables, face wash, a lounge that has free soft drinks and coffee during the day and alcohol at night if you want a wine or beer before bed. Nice quiet street but walkable to lots of landmarks. Clint laundry with dryer. Honestly can not recommend this hotel any higher, it was absolutely lovely.

The room was spacious and clean. The toiletries and coffee provided were high quality. The staff is very helpful with our needs and most of them understand English. Our front desk, Jane, was able to assist us with our luggage transfer from Kyoto to Osaka. They are also very responsive in the email and messages. Overall, it was a great place to relax after going around Kyoto.

The amenities and everything were amazing especially for the price, but what was particularly attractive about the property was the staff. The staff were all very friendly and ready to help. Beautiful town.

Beautiful town. Lots to see and do including shrines, seeing the monkeys and great shopping and food. One thing was the the buses don’t run very late so sometimes it was difficult to get home of a night.

We did not know what to expect.

We did not know what to expect. Our visit was in December so it was pretty quiet. We had rain the first day but we were able to do most of the highlights on day 2. We walked the entire beach path had lunch and walked it back. Very nice walk.

The staff was awesome! They did everything in their power to ensure I had a pleasant stay. Room is extremely small by US standards! Room could use a microwave, the only one available was on the ground floor and I was on the 7th.

Kameoka is the starting point of the famous and historical Hozu River rafting ride that takes you to Arashiyama, home of the famous bamboo forest. Enjoy the rafting, enjoy Arashiyama and take the train back to Kameoka. Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the station. A perfect day.

Gionmachi is a wonderful section of Kyoto and offers much to see and experience. It is easy, maybe 15 to 20 minutes taxi to other areas of Kyoto that are also beautiful, historical and traditional. Overall, this is a place I would come back to because I have much more to see.

I stayed for 7 days and travelled with eldery, so i could explore more of kyoto Kiyomizu, fushimi and arashiyama is good but too crowded. What i like is Kurama-dera Temple(Stunning view with lots of maple tree and many site to visit, around 45, and got to experience Eizan Railway that is better and cheaper and longer than arashiyama's sagano train), Daigoji Temple(My mom really liked it as it is calming, not crowded at all and there is garden that is so beautiful), and teamLab Biovortex (definitely a must visit, we liked the ocean section where we can color aquatic animal and it can be scanned so it will move around in the wall!)

Miyazu which includes Amanohashidate, is one of three natural sites in Japan. The land bridge spans across the sea is fun to view from the observation points (on both sides) and you can actually bike (20 minutes) or walk (50 minutes) one way across. A small town with lots of charm and beauty.

I especially recommend it to travelers from overseas. If you are sightseeing in Kyoto, Nara, or Osaka for a few days, staying at this facility and using Kameoka as your base will be the best way to travel to Kansai. Like taking a day trip from your home. If your schedule is 2 nights and 3 days or 3 nights and 4 days, it is definitely a good deal even if you add transportation expenses. You can't stay in a house in Kyoto or Nara.

I loved this hotel!!! The service was outstanding. The rooms were beautiful and clean. The location was perfect - close to town but not in town. We walked everywhere and felt very safe. Close to the train station as well. I will certainly stay here on my next trip to Kyoto.

Kyoto has so many surprises!

Kyoto has so many surprises! The Kamo River, Pontocho Alley and the gardens were our favorite! So many good restaurants to dine in and it's a very walkable city. So easy to get around. The Fushimi Inari is just a short train ride away. This is a must-visit city in Japan.
