The hotel, the staff and the location were all 10/10 We booked it at a great price point and were super happy with the choice. The hotel is located in a wonderful area with a lot of shops, not so far away from the most crowded locations. The room was very spacious, comfortable and came with a washing machine. It was cleaned daily and we really enjoyed. We didn't try the breakkie, so I cannot comment on that. Would repeat stay and recommend it.

The location is very good, a few minutes away from the metro. The lobby and its design are nice and spacious. The free refreshments are very nice. The employees are very sweet and polite and also meticulous. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. It is very nice that they provide free bicycle service. Especially the toilet is very nice :) It definitely provides a very luxurious service for its price. Thank you for everything.

The property was clean and tastefully furnished, and located within a cute local housing area (but still convenient enough to travel to the key attractions). Service was also great with friendly and helpful staff. To top it off, the property houses a great Thai restaurant which serves a good variety of authentic Thai lunch/dinner options. Special mention that the restaurant was kind enough to help me modify their food to cater to my vegetarian/meat-free preference.

The service and staff were exceptional. They are English friendly. The facilities (private onsen, relaxation room) and room were clean and relaxing. I really enjoyed the tatami mats and no shoes in the hotel. There were also free sweets, ice pops, noodles, and drinks at certain times throughout the day which were delicious! At check-in, a pamphlet was provided outlining the location of the facilities and times for each service. I had both breakfast and dinner at the hotel - dinner was a fun experience and breakfast had many options.

Wow. This hotel completely exceeded my expectations. The rooms were huge, bright and very well stocked. The washer/dryer in the room was a godsend for us as a family with a baby and the bathroom was luxurious with a freestanding bathtub. The staff are very welcoming and downstairs there is a cafe and salad bar all with fresh colourful ingredients. This hotel was 1/3 the price of the more popular family suites chain in Japan but it was every bit as good if not better

I wasn’t sure what to expect from the main photo , it looks like a shed and I was nervous, but this hotel really is lovely! The photo is of the covered entrance with a function room, the main hotel is behind that facing the tranquil ocean! Our room was gorgeous and waking up to the sound of the gentle waves was glorious. The beds were very comfortable and the room was incredibly spacious. The hot spring was lovely too! Wished we’d stayed longer.

It’s a beautiful villa with the most courteous and lovely staff. From the facade, to the lobby, to the room it’s a 10/10. We had beautiful good quality kimono’s to use in the room also. The details are absolutely everywhere in the room. Lastly as it was my birthday they surprised me upon my late return to the hotel with some delicious matcha cakes. Gave us an umbrella as well for the rain. Just wonderful!

Everything was above other hotels during two weeks trip. Very pleasant place in Japanese style and design. Breakfast buffet was very tasty and great selection of food. Staff exceptionally kind and friendly to help... We could use car park without extra issues (some others, wasn't obvious to allow it) Any lounge area was situated near great view across the windows.

Kyoto is such a wonderful and historic part of Japan.

Kyoto is such a wonderful and historic part of Japan. I stayed there for 2 days and visited quite a lot of places from the Arashiyama Bamboo forest to the Fushimi Inari Taisha. I wish I stayed there another day or 2 however loved every minute of old school Kyoto

Beautiful surroundings, not many tourists, cable cars to both sides of the water bridge were great, I went on a hike on one (although they want you to pay for the bus, it was a bit much, so I walked to the temple). I walked across the water bridge about 3 times, great walk, and a great solo trip even for women alone. I recommend it. I did also one day trip to boat villgae Inu - amazing. Recommend to go on the boat with locals.

The staff was awesome! They did everything in their power to ensure I had a pleasant stay. Room is extremely small by US standards! Room could use a microwave, the only one available was on the ground floor and I was on the 7th.

Kameoka is the starting point of the famous and historical Hozu River rafting ride that takes you to Arashiyama, home of the famous bamboo forest. Enjoy the rafting, enjoy Arashiyama and take the train back to Kameoka. Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the station. A perfect day.

Gionmachi is a wonderful section of Kyoto and offers much to see and experience. It is easy, maybe 15 to 20 minutes taxi to other areas of Kyoto that are also beautiful, historical and traditional. Overall, this is a place I would come back to because I have much more to see.

I came to learn from a Zen meditation teacher. Kyoto is a big city and I would have liked to have someone to show me around the trains and busses. Some of us travel to Kyoto to sit meditation. We need affordable accommodation. For much of the accommodation was too expensive.

We did not know what to expect.

We did not know what to expect. Our visit was in December so it was pretty quiet. We had rain the first day but we were able to do most of the highlights on day 2. We walked the entire beach path had lunch and walked it back. Very nice walk.

If you are sightseeing in Kyoto, Nara, or Osaka for a few days, staying at this facility and using Kameoka as your base will be the best way to travel to Kansai. Like taking a day trip from your home. If your schedule is 2 nights and 3 days or 3 nights and 4 days, it is definitely a good deal even if you add transportation expenses. You can't stay in a house in Kyoto or Nara.

I loved this hotel!!! The service was outstanding.

I loved this hotel!!! The service was outstanding. The rooms were beautiful and clean. The location was perfect - close to town but not in town. We walked everywhere and felt very safe. Close to the train station as well. I will certainly stay here on my next trip to Kyoto.

ofc it's overcrowded, but it's worth visiting nevertheless - for the sights, that is. The problem here is the general attitude of the locals. Lots of 'no photos', 'do not enter', 'private alley' (lol) signs, cool and aloof people (except super kind ones at one pharmacy) - the least welcoming place I've been to in Japan (when arriving to Osaka right after Kyoto, the contrast is staggering). I would not wish to return any time soon tbh.
