We had a lovely stay in Iten with Joyce, Claude and Jeff. We had arrived by bicycle in need of a relaxing rest day and JC Iten did not disappoint. The food was outstanding, rooms very comfortable and clean and the hosts so helpful. Lovely cats and massive thanks for the advice regarding our onward travel. If we return to Iten in the future, JC will be where we stay!! :)

It was so amazing. The staff is so kind and helpfull with everything. They grow the ingredients for food in their own home garden so everything is fresh and safe. I felt incredibly safe and well taken care of. I am so great full for this experience. They take the time to sitt and talk and get to know everyone. They are so kind, caring and lovely. They have cameras al over so they can see who is coming in and out to keep the place safe. The room was very clean. The staff handles everything with cleand hands. I am a bit scared of bacteria so when I saw that the staff was clean it made me really happy and grateful. I needed help to find motorbike taxi and they gave me contact for a safe driver. I also needed to change money to shilling so she helped me with paying the driver so i could exchange the money and pay back. It was very kind of her to do that. They help everyone in a really caring way. It felt like I was with family. This is a very special place in Iten.

The hosts are a power-couple regarding their hospitality and delicious food! Because of the distance to town we had dinners at the property and were thrilled with the delicious, healthy, homemade options! We were able to sample some of their recently harvested avocados and coffee! We were able to purchase cold beers with which to enjoy the sunset casting its shadow into the valley below. The cool nights make for some deep sleeping! The hosts helped us arrange a safari down into the valley! Very nice experience!

Grace (receptionist) was so lovely and helpful. As we had got there later in the evening we rang grace to guide us to the exact location. Which she did efficiently. And also came personally to the road where she guided us to come. Making sure we don't get lost. She went far and beyond call of duty. Thank you so much for Grace. Also she upgraded me to Bill Gates room. Which was a treat. And big thank you to the director Mr Ashish for upgrading my room.🙏 Diana was serving us in the dining area and she was so welcoming and marvellous. She was very attentive to our needs and requests. And was making sure we were happy and comfortable. Diana appreciate your efforts. And will never forget your smiling face. Joseph the super talented chef surprised me with delicious veg dishes of chilli paneer. Jeera rice. Mixed veg curry. I couldn't believe that in such a remote resort Indian food would be served. Made my stay extra special. Plus the decor is so creative. Every corner is attractive and well thought out. Finally the place it self is so so magical. Beautifully maintains. Eco friendly. Surrounded by nature and was beautiful and peaceful. Every block has a varenda and they have fire pits which are lit so we could sit out at night and be warm and enjoy all the sounds of nature at night. Am glad and thankful to Booking.com for adding this Gem to your list. Will definetly recommend to others and go there if ever in kenya. God bless all.🙏🙏

Iten is often called the **“Home of Champions”** because of its high altitude – about **2,400 meters above sea level** – and fresh, clean air, which create perfect training conditions that have produced many of the world’s best long-distance runners. For visitors, this makes the town special not only as a training hub but also as a place where you can meet athletes from all over the world. Beyond running, Iten has a beautiful **natural setting**. Forest hikes take you through lush greenery, where you can spot black-and-white colobus monkeys and enjoy breathtaking views over the Rift Valley escarpment. The **Saturday market** is another highlight. It’s a colorful, vibrant place where locals gather to sell fresh produce, clothing, and handmade goods – a wonderful chance for visitors to experience everyday Kenyan life and culture up close. In short: Iten is special because it combines its 2,400m altitude training advantage, authentic culture, welcoming people, and stunning landscapes. -
