The room at the ground floor was comfortable and quiet. But, as upgrade the owner offered the second floor bigger room for the same price. Washroom and bedroom were clean. The Hotel is in the main street inland and just 25 meters walking from main road and to the beach it's not even 3 minutes walking. The owner running the place was always very kind and let me choose the room I liked the most. The wifi was fast. Everything he arranged close to me

From the beginning on, everything was perfect. The receptionist manager took care about us and was always around to deal with customers in case they need something. Very generous, kind person. Thank you for such a nice stay and we will definitely come back one day. 3 water bottles in room and very clean. We just wish you all good luck and continue like this!

The hotel is SUPER! The best hotel during my entire trip to Sri Lanka (I was in more than 15 hotels in 24 days). Very cozy atmosphere. There are only 6 bungalows in hotels, it's not overcrowded. Delicious food, better than in the most cafes on the island. Very comfortable and friendly hosts! The pool is great! Everything is thought out - deck chairs, a place for sunbathing right in the water. The pool is surrounded of palm trees! It's about 50-100 meters to the sea. The only negative thing for lovers of flat water is big waves on the coast. Therefore, I spent 3 days next to the pool and absolutely happy about this! ))) But also it has a very beautiful sunrise! You should check in my photos

We had a great time in Spice Trail! Excellent location and very helpful staff. Himasha LEO showed us some nice places in the area and told us a lot about Arugam Bay & Sri Lanka. If you are going to Arugam Bay, you can't skip this place! The swimming pool is perfect.

Had a wonderful stay at Bay Vista. The two men working the front desk were so kind and helpful, they went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable. They helped arrange surf lessons and transportation. Room was clean and comfortable, and there is a lot of room in the restaurant/gardens area to relax. It was nice to have beach chairs right in front of the property. The yoga class on the rooftop each evening was lovely. The hotel is in a great location, about a 10 minute walk along the beach to the main point for surfing every day and it is central to restaurants and shopping. Would definitely return!

Absolutely stunning beach front hotel, pool was great with the kids, the chef was incredible - every dish was super tasty. We loved the outdoor chilling area and bean bags. Rooms were very spacious and stunning views of the ocean. And it was so close to the hustle of Arugam Bay!

One of the highlights for us were the dogs — so friendly and sweet, they made our stay even more special! 🐶 The hotel doesn’t have too many rooms, which makes it feel more private and exclusive — perfect for a peaceful, quiet holiday. The staff are super friendly and always ready to help with anything. The hotel has a large area with beautiful spaces, amazing design, and lots of places to relax and enjoy. I had a wonderful experience staying at Blue Wave Arugambay with my girlfriend. The location is fantastic, offering easy access to nearby attractions while still maintaining a relaxed, peaceful vibe. The front office staff were friendly, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay, making check-in and check-out seamless. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with all the amenities we needed for a relaxing stay. The highlight for us was definitely the food — absolutely delicious! We looked forward to every meal and were never disappointed. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Arugambay. We’ll definitely be back!

After almost 15 days in Sri Lanka, we stayed in JetWing Surf in a beachfront hut {No 18} and we had a great time. The hut was clean, the mosquito nets were large enough to be effective {a notable difference from other places we've stayed} and we had no issue with bugs. The staff was very attentive especially when we had an early morning safari planned. Our driver came to pick us up at 5:00 AM, and Pawan, our concierge, was there and thoughtfully provided us with a mini-fridge stocked with fresh juices and a basket of breakfast items to take along. Christmas dinner at the hotel was also exceptional.

You are more likely to meet a European than a local here.

You are more likely to meet a European than a local here. This is definately not a reflection on Sri Lankan culture, however the beach town is slow and quiet (realtively speaking) and there are plenty of shops and restaurants. And of coure, the surf is consistent and the water warm. It's a winner for a beach holiday.

The best feature of Arugam Bay is the surrounding jungle, lakes and lagoons. The main beach is very busy but other beaches, such as Peanut Farm are less crowded, Do thye Lagoon Safari and a park safari but also try surfing and relaxing on the beach.
