The surf school was excellent, with a fantastic instructor. There was no problem with having a later breakfast due to surfing lessons. Additionally, there were options to book extra trips or take a tuk-tuk ride. We would love to come back again!

The very high level of service at the boutique hotel makes you actually feel special. ;)) I would like to thank the staff! The team of young guys takes care of guests without any complaints. We recently spent five days at this beautiful hotel, and from the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. Every single person working here deserves the highest praise: From the reception and restaurant teams to the spa staff, gardeners, and service crew. Everyone was incredibly friendly, genuine, and always ready to help with a smile.
A very special thank you goes to our butler, Badde, who made our stay unforgettable. His attention to detail and thoughtful surprises turned our holiday into something even more special. Beyond his professionalism, he is simply a wonderful person, full of positive energy.
The property itself is breathtaking. Located on a large rock overlooking the coast, it feels as if you are floating between forest, beach, and sea. The sound of the waves is always present, and the views in every direction are magical. Despite being around 30 years old, the hotel feels modern and very well maintained. Improvements are constantly being made. The architecture and interior design are unique and tasteful, far more characterful than in many new hotels.
Some reviews mention that certain areas might feel a little “aged,” but in our opinion, that criticism is entirely misplaced. Naturally, not every pool or wall can be rebuilt every few years and there is absolutely no reason to. Everything is clean, comfortable, and well maintained.
The food is another highlight. Even after five days, we kept discovering new dishes to try, each one beautifully presented and full of flavor. The variety and quality are truly impressive.
All in all, this hotel combines hospitality, design and experience in a way that’s very rare to find. We left deeply relaxed and already looking forward to returning one day.

The Citrus Hotel in Sri Lanka is a place worth recommending. From the very first moment, you can feel that guests are a priority – the service is exceptionally friendly, courteous, and always smiling. The staff strives to meet guests' expectations with great commitment, creating an exceptionally welcoming atmosphere. Special recognition for their commitment goes to Manager Sudath, Malsha and Ishara, as well as the rest of the hotel staff.
The food deserves special mention – it's diverse, fresh, and truly delicious. The buffet is well-balanced, offering both local and international dishes. The attention to quality and presentation is truly high, making every meal a pleasure.
The hotel itself, although not the newest, is well-maintained, and it's clear that the owners and staff place great emphasis on ensuring guests feel comfortable. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, and the housekeeping service responds quickly to any needs. The hotel's common areas are tidy, and the pool and relaxation areas offer a peaceful atmosphere.
The location is also a huge advantage – it's a great base for both exploring the area and spending a few days in complete relaxation.
In summary, considering Sri Lanka's conditions and the standard of a 4-star hotel, the Citrus definitely stands out. Excellent cuisine, friendly and professional staff, excellent service, and attention to detail make it a truly relaxing and welcoming place. This hotel is a pure sweet spot: a combination beautiful sandy beach with nice ocean view through palm trees, excellent and well-trained staff, huge variety of very tasty food, comfortable rooms and excellent management with focus on sustainability.
We booked a room with breakfast and intended to dine outside, however upon our arrival a hotel manager Mr Fernando warmly welcomed us and recommended to try dinner buffet... And we did - the best experience (both breakfast and dinner) comparing 5 hotels in Sri-Lanka we visited during our 3 weeks vacation.
Additional compliment to the way the hotel is managed - exceptional level of service, safety, sustainability and attention to the guests needs.
I can't put in a review all the things we're positevely surprised with this hotel - it far exceeded our expectations, definitely recommend to stay here!

Dont often give full marks but staying at Angel beach was an amazing experience. The beach front location is spectacular and the pool area is perfect for relaxing in a contemporary atmosphere. But above all that, it was the staff that made our stay unforgettable. Let me name a few: the general manager Delshan went above and beyond during our stay, we never experienced such a comitted and professional manager at any hotel! But also other staff like Sahan (house keeping who has great pride in towel art) and Pabasara at reception who always was very attentive. But others too, thanks for an amazing experience!

This hotel has a beautiful soul and truly is a perfect place to unwind. The staff is professionally trained, very nice and friendly people. Rooms are little bit outdated, but clean and all the amenities are there including slippers and bathrobe. Internet works perfectly fine and fast.
Pool is huge, definitely one of the biggest outdoor pools I have seen in a hotel, always very clean. Food is also great, there are endless options at the buffet and the a la carte menu also has nice and tasty items along with good drinks.
They offer many activities during the day, gym is small but sufficient.

Just DON’T use the White Queen, as the manager will make it very difficult for you to get any redress if there’s a problem (I was charged for a five night stay instead of Four, and only realised after payment had been taken-silly me!)
Enjoy your stay, just elsewhere in Galle.

Its a fantastic place, just at the beach and well planned...
Its a fantastic place, just at the beach and well planned hotel, pools, beach, restaurants, bars, lobbys are equally catering to customer service points. We had our best hotel experience at Araliya Unawatuna. Even met the owner and had a generous chat during breakfast which is so touching and personalized service standard I believe.
Easy to visit Galle Fort, just a walk to the golden sandy beaches.
Staff from top management to the ground staff is well trained to give excellent customer care. We specially thanking to our 7th flour room service staff who simply helped us in technical support, bars and restaurant staff and Nethmi & Dakshika and all wonderful reception staff memebers.

Ahangama is so peaceful - it's slightly away from the busier...
Ahangama is so peaceful - it's slightly away from the busier areas around the coast. The restaurants around are in great locations, and all very calm with great vibes. It's also very easy and quick to get to neighbouring towns to visit sites, or restaurants in those locations as well.

I recently stayed at La Kurumba for two nights, and everything about the hotel was exceptional! The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxing. The food was absolutely delicious — every meal was a treat. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable getaway.

There are so many locations to see.good peoples are around & very safe are. I like the place & the area.i had great time durig the vacation.I guess that threre is 1km around to the beach & also there is a logoon.i have experience the boat safari at the lake. I wish if i could stay few more days to enjoy.

Great beach, we felt like Robinson Crusoe on the beach, almost just the 2 of us. Visiting Mahdu Lake at 6 a.m. watching the sun goes up. A natural paradise with a lot of birds and other animals. Listening to their different noises. Dining at the Mangrove Cave Restaurant we enjoyed freshest seafood. It was just very tasty.

Most meals were eaten at the Hotel.
Very easy to get around. There is a tour agency opposite the hotel entrance, it cant get any better than that. It is easy to take tuk tuk or van taxis.
Superior beach front view. Beautiful gardens and swimming pool. Well done to the management and staff for this top class facility.
Local fishermen were easy to approach and social chat with.
