This is the most beautiful hotel we have been to in Sri Lanka. The hotel is beautifully situated, right by the lake, sitting on the terrace you can watch the sunset while having a delicious dinner (the best food we have ever eaten). The hotel is decorated with taste and class, spacious rooms, with a modern but related to the place decor. The family room we occupied is basically an apartment with two separate, beautifully decorated rooms and a spacious bathroom. It is spotlessly clean and smells beautiful. Very friendly staff and a very nice and helpful owner. We regret that we could only stay one night. We recommend it, because the place is really extraordinary!

Just everything. Really nice apartment, specially equipped for western turists, with hair dryer, toilet brush, drinking water, big room and bathroom, with big patio in front of the room, plus swimming pool. What else can you wish more. It was the best experience during my trip in Sri Lanka. Big bonus was also Janaka, resort manager who organized Safari in Yala for us.

Beautiful place and beautiful people. We had a very warm welcome, with a rich dinner of local cousine. The room and bathroom were really clean and the bed very comfortable. We were also impressed by how clean and well-maintained the exterior was. They also had flexible check out, and in addition, delicious refreshment drinks were waiting for us after the safari. The staff and host in this property could not have been any kinder. We were able to get our laundry done for a very fair price and the host even made us a packed breakfast as we had to leave very early morning on our departure. The location was very close to the beach and a short ride to the secret beach.

Everything at Leopard Trails was absolutely perfect. Rooms (lakeside) Elegantly decorated, classic without feeling outdated. All facilitates were provided, including incredible aircon! Felt super luxe! Location Close to the entrance of Yala. we were first there for the morning safari. The People So attentive, went above and beyond to make the stay special. Great food. Safari we went out twice, the morning and evening. If we could have our time again, we would have done three in total. The team were very respectful of the animals, never getting too close and taking great pride in seeing them in their natural habitat. A HUGE shoutout to our tour guide Ashan who made our experience one that we will never forget. He is incredibly knowledgable, super passionate which made us even more excited, as well as knowing a lot about the bigger creatures he took much care and joy in the smaller ones too (side note, insane bird knowledge!). I even got a little photography tutorial, which meant that I could photograph the beautiful creatures with my new found skills. Would 100% recommend booking your stay here.

We recently stayed at a tented lodge for a safari night, and it was truly an unforgettable experience for the whole family. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome and taken care of. The tents were beautifully set up, blending comfort with the authentic charm of being right in the heart of nature. Falling asleep to the sounds of the wild was both thrilling and peaceful. The highlight for us was the safari itself—our guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, making every sighting special. We were lucky enough to spot a variety of wildlife, and the kids couldn’t stop smiling the entire time. The food was absolutely amazing—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every meal felt like a treat, and it exceeded all of our expectations. Sharing stories around the fire after dinner made the evening even more memorable. Overall, this experience was everything we hoped for and more. Our family left with full hearts, happy memories, and a strong desire to return. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a magical blend of adventure, comfort, and nature.

What a property! This hotel has so many amenities which make it a little haven in Tangalle. We stayed for just two nights but when we arrived we didn’t leave the resort once. From table tennis, pool table, tennis courts to the amazing pool, spa and beach itself there’s so much to do. They also offer complimentary things such as a 30 minute consultation with their resident Ayurvedic doctor which was really cool to experience. The restaurants are also good. We didn’t only had buffet for breakfast which was excellent and ate in their onsite restaurants for the two nights we were there, Il Mare and Verala. I would rate Verala higher. The room itself is fabulous and the biggest room we had throughout our whole stay! Finally the staff are great. Our concierges name was Shafraz and he made all of our restaurant reservations and was available via WhatsApp to answer any questions we had. Great hotel overall and for those bringing kids, it also seemed really kid friendly!

We stayed in this hotel for 2 days in October 2023. The hotel is located in the Yala Nature Reserve on the ocean. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel staff. The general manager of Colonel proved to be an amazing person. He gave us a real celebration in honor of our wedding anniversary. It was funny and unforgettable. The hotel itself is not new, but it has everything you need. The rooms are large and colorful. All with ocean views, comfortable enough. Many thanks to the staff of the entire hotel for their hospitality and attention to our people.

Where do I start. The place is amazing. Right in the buffer zone of the national park. As soon as you get there, the staff are there to greet you and make you feel like royalty. The room is gorgeous, and you have everything you need. The staff are so attentive and cater to your every need. The food is great. We even had a birthday dinner on the beach and a birthday bed decoration. Our safari guide was super knowledgeable. It's really hard to find fault with the place.

Lots of gorgeous beaches nearby don’t stay on the main town beach. Take a bus to silent beach / Goyambokka beach / red beach / pallikudwua etc - you could walk from the town to Red beach and Pallikafwua too in 30 minutes Free sunbeds if you eat/ drink at the local beach bars at every beach

It should be on everyone’s itinerary! The safari was amazing- go for the all day! And Jami Riverside Hotel is run by a wonderful host couple and the accommodations were comfortable, clean and affordable. They will make all the safari arrangements with the park for you if you wish. We had a wonderful driver -PHN Kasun Sampath.

This place is amazing. We stay with our 3 young kids and the staff were so kind and attentive. All of the small details have been thought of and it’s a wonderful experience in nature. Lovely local Sri Lankan are served for each meal.

A great place to stay and would definitely recommend.

A great place to stay and would definitely recommend. Large comfortable room close to the pool, with restaurant and plenty of cold beer. We were very well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. Anyone looking for a visit to the National Park should consider staying at Tringa and booking the tour with them as they will make sure you have a great experience.

Weerawila, located in a dry zone of Sri Lanka, is ideal for wildlife safaris and nature experiences. This location is especially convenient during the rainy season, as it often stays dry even when the rest of the country is experiencing thunderstorms. We chose it specifically to avoid heavy rains.

The White House Inn is a fantastic place to stay in Thissamaharama. It’s situated in a calm and natural setting, making it perfect for relaxation. The inn is also very close to the Yala National Park, which is great for those looking to go on safari. The hotel is clean and comfortable, providing a welcoming atmosphere. The spacious lobby area is a nice spot to unwind. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, offering excellent service throughout our stay. One of the highlights was the food. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner, and the Sri Lankan dishes were absolutely delicious. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at the White House Inn and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Authentic family experience.

Authentic family experience. Two beaches, bird sanctuary and a fishery. Small but beautiful temple. Big rocks for line fishing. Bird watching. Relaxing. You can walk around the village, a couple of little shops. No restaurants as such. I had home cooked food from the main house.

Tissamaharama is a fantastic base for anyone looking to explore the natural beauty and rich culture of southern Sri Lanka. It's perfectly located for Yala National Park safaris, offering easy access to incredible wildlife encounters. Beyond the safaris, the town itself has a calm, local vibe with beautiful lakes and ancient temples to discover. You'll find plenty of local restaurants and shops, making it easy to enjoy authentic Sri Lankan experiences. It's a great spot for both adventure and relaxation, and I highly recommend spending some time here!
