Very nice accommodation, clean, with a nice pool. Typical hotel service with restaurant. We only spent one night here so I can't rate everything. The accommodation arranged a Safari in Yala for us, they arranged a nice Jeep for just the two of us ( I said we could take a shared one, but they can't arrange that - or probably don't want to). Anyway, it was nice not to worry about anything, they even packed us a breakfast to take with us on the Safari as it starts at 4:30am so you are the first in the park and have the best chance of seeing the Leopard. Interesting design of the building

The location and the property itself is outstanding. It’s located in a dense jungle area off the normal road but it’s magical once you get there. Hearing the waves crashing all day long along with the birds chirping is so soothing and serene. You literally feel like you’re in a rainforest. The breakfast was good as well, they offer few set menu options which you can choose from.

The best stay we had in Sri Lanka! The room and all the facilities were so comfortable. Room was a bit small but enough to rest, bathroom was enormous and probably the best I've seen in Sri Lanka. The host was very attentive, he welcomed us with fruit from his own garden - lovely!

Incredible host who took os out on a really nice evening tour! He arranged the safari for us the next day where we saw a leopard and elephant! He helped us get transportation to Mirissa as well the next day for a really good price! The view was beautiful and food was good. The location was a bit remote but really nice if you’re doing a safari. Can’t recommend enough:)

I feel very lucky to stay at Nalin’s place. I highly recommend it! It was the best place during my trip. The room was very clean, the mattress was comfortable. We got 5 star service here. Nalin was very kind and nice, prepared everything I asked for, hot water for shower, fruit and blanket. He also brought us to see sunrise, visit 4 beautiful lakes and local temples, and introduced birds. He has very rich bird knowledge. We even saw swimming crocodile in a lake! His wife cooks so well! We had super delicious homemade dinner. I really love it! Nalin also helped us book a safari, and we saw leopard, bear, and many other animals.

The Sea Bay Inn feels like one of a kind. The owner and the complete staff have been so nice and welcoming, it felt like home. The room was new, modern and very clean. We've been able to reach the closest supermarket by foot easily and even walked to the city center. The closest beach to the Sea Bay Inn is just down the road and absolutely beatiful. There are not many spots outside of direct sunshine, but the beach is not very crowded. If you need any travel advice around town the owner will help you swiftly, her son is also available with his TukTuk. All in all a very pleasent stay and we would love to come back!

It was so enjoyable stay in lagoon gate. Caring service by all stuff is on highest level. We will never forget hospitality that we were met late at night when we arrived at the hotel. Speciality of this place is very tasty prawns and seafood that you will never find in tangalle. My very special thanks to Lali and Salinda for satisfying all the requests. And cooking man for breakfasts and very good coffee, i dont even figure out what is the secret of it ))

"Palm Paradise" is a very accurate description of this place. Located in a quiet palm grove right next to the beach, very green and quiet (except for the crashing waves - but that's the kind of noise I could listen to all day). Peacocks walking around in the garden and sometimes coming to the pool to drink, all sorts of other birds, squirrels and monkeys can be seen all day round but never cause any trouble. Back in the day they used to have only the minimalistic cabanas (which are great btw), but I was very happy to discover that they have expanded quite a bit since 2010 and now they have the villas, a new restaurant and a pool. The villa where I chose to stay this time was very spacious, air-conditioned and had a large balcony/patio. Both the pool and the beach are less than a minute away. Super-friendly staff, helped me organize the transfer from Ella and then to Colombo for a very reasonable price without requiring any sort of prepayment. The ocean can be a bit rough at times, but that's not a bad thing, just something to be aware of. The restaurant offers excellent quality food, which applies to both the breakfast and the a-la carte dining options. Very clean and warm pool just outside the restaurant with comfortable wooden sunbeds. There's a small grocery store just on the corner of the main road (~5 min walk), and if you need more shopping then Tangalle is only ~10 minutes and ~500LKR away by tuktuk, which can be found just outside the main gate.

My exhilarating trip to Sri Lanka was an incredible experience that will always remain in my memories. The pristine landscapes and beautiful nature of this country captured my heart. However, what made this trip even more special was our stay at Laya hotel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and also the place was very comfortable and quiet at night. We happened to be there during Sinhala and Tamil new year holiday, and we decided to stay an extra night to celebrate with them. We participated in their games and festivities, and it was a great new experience. We were even honored as special guests on the second night to stay in their brand new caravan. Special thanks to the hotel general manager (Mr.Wasantha) and his deputy (Mr.Dulaj) for their hospitality.

We highly recommend this beautiful place. It truly feels like home, surrounded by a friendly family and their lovely dogs, peacefully located between the river and the sea. The cabin we booked is small and charming, perfectly adequate for the price. The outdoor seating area on the terrace is inviting. Additionally, there is warm water in the shower and a mosquito net at the bed to sleep safe from insects. They are wonderful people with great values, and staying with them is absolutely worth it. We would have stayed longer if we hadn’t had other plans. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

It should be on everyone’s itinerary! The safari was amazing- go for the all day! And Jami Riverside Hotel is run by a wonderful host couple and the accommodations were comfortable, clean and affordable. They will make all the safari arrangements with the park for you if you wish. We had a wonderful driver -PHN Kasun Sampath.

A great place to stay and would definitely recommend. Large comfortable room close to the pool, with restaurant and plenty of cold beer. We were very well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. Anyone looking for a visit to the National Park should consider staying at Tringa and booking the tour with them as they will make sure you have a great experience.

The White House Inn is a fantastic place to stay in Thissamaharama. It’s situated in a calm and natural setting, making it perfect for relaxation. The inn is also very close to the Yala National Park, which is great for those looking to go on safari. The hotel is clean and comfortable, providing a welcoming atmosphere. The spacious lobby area is a nice spot to unwind. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, offering excellent service throughout our stay. One of the highlights was the food. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner, and the Sri Lankan dishes were absolutely delicious. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at the White House Inn and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Authentic family experience.

Authentic family experience. Two beaches, bird sanctuary and a fishery. Small but beautiful temple. Big rocks for line fishing. Bird watching. Relaxing. You can walk around the village, a couple of little shops. No restaurants as such. I had home cooked food from the main house.

The owners and staff were delightful - the service great. The cabannes were in the style of my travels 50 years ago and a great reminder of how simple life can (and should) be. For eating there is plenty of choice in the area and all easy walking but not always in 32 deg 😂

It's perfectly located for Yala National Park safaris, offering easy access to incredible wildlife encounters. Beyond the safaris, the town itself has a calm, local vibe with beautiful lakes and ancient temples to discover.
