Everything about this place is outrageously exceptional. The staff are INCREDIBLE. The food is AMAZING. The location is PERFECT. We honestly had the best time staying here mostly realxing in and beside the pool, lazing on the beach, frolicking in the waves and watching gorgeous sunsets. The staff under Rizwan's amazing management ensured that we always had what we needed and were always around just when we needed something. Honestly it was like a home away from home and we will DEFINITELY be returning.

We had the most amazing stay here! The best so far in Sri Lanka. For the price you get the most heartwarming staff that will help with everything. The food is good, the rooms are nice and clean. The area is so pretty and right at the beach with nice waves and no people. Tony, one of the staffmembers was super sweet, very helpful, and made sure we had an amazing stay. My experience at Ayana was nothing short of extraordinary. The quality of service was impeccable — every detail was handled with care and professionalism. Our stay at this hotel was unforgettable for our family. Beautiful surroundings, excellent cuisine, peace and quiet. The staff of this establishment is impeccable, always smiling and kind. The chefs who really appealed to us were the ones who were willing to fulfill whatever we could think of, always interested in how we liked it. But the one who really became our hearts was our butler Manju.. not only did he take great care of us, but he was always available to us, no matter what we needed. He was not just a butler for us, but also a friend and always smiling friend of our children. Manju takes his job very seriously and tries to do his best for his guests. On behalf of our entire family, we would like to thank all the employees of this hotel, including the ladies at the reception, the gardeners and the boys who looked after us and cleaned the room, and last but not least the lifeguards. Thank you.

This is our 3 rd stay with this Hotel, the view is amazing you are straight to the Indian Ocean and it’s beautiful, huge garden and a nice swimming pool lots of space around swimming pool for sunbathing etc. Special thanks to Front office Manager Miss Thushari and her Assistant Miss Abhi, made our stay more comfortable, overall everyone is very helpful and friendly , Operation Manager and Chef 👨‍🍳were excellent, they are very professional they know their customers! We were very happy with our stay at Citrus Waskaduwa. We will be there whenever we visit Srilanka, we haven’t found any other hotel with such a quality. Thanks for all the staff.

Exceptional Beachside Stay – Highly Recommended! Our stay at this beach property was truly wonderful. The first impression was excellent – the room was spacious, comfortable, and spotless. The service throughout our stay was perfect. The beach was fantastic – clean, beautiful, and just steps away. Special thanks to Chandra, who was the best steward we’ve encountered – friendly and attentive. The receptionist also provided excellent PR with a sweet and pleasant attitude, making us feel very welcome. The food was overall excellent, especially the large seafood dishes which were incredibly fresh and full of sea flavor.

The breakfast buffet was very good and the quality of...

The breakfast buffet was very good and the quality of treatments at the spa did not disapoint. However, we were disappointed with the general professionalism of the staff considering it is a 5 star resort. The staff was kind and friendly but just not up to the standard one would expect of a 5 star hotel. Here are a few examples: at the pool we ordered some food and when we were going to sign for the bill, the waiter said they had made a mistake and charged us for a dish that was 0.50 USD more than what we had ordered. He asked us if we didn't mind paying the extra amount so that they didn't need to redo the bill. Of course we didn't mind as its such a small difference (so we accepted) but out of principle, if a mistake is made by the staff, they should know to just fix the error rather than asking the guest to make up for their mistake (however small). We were also disappointed at dinner that the two a la carte restaurants were only open on alternate nights as it meant we couldn't get a table until 9 pm which is late with kids. Also the first wines we tried to order were out of stock. Finally on the second night at the Italian, three of the dishes we chose were unavailable. This is understandable as it is end of season, but again is not expected at a 5 star hotel. That said, the quality of the food at the Italian was really very good. As for the rooms, although comfortable, the extra maintenance effort is lacking. The hot and cold water in the shower was very difficult to control; the light in the small magnifying mirror in the bathroom was not working and the main telephone in the room did not work. Lastly, we visited the spa and although the overall experience was very good and the therapists were experienced, it was disappointing to have to wait over half an hour (after our scheduled appointment time) for our treatments. Overall, this felt more of a 3-4 star hotel than 5 star.

Poor staff service during our visit while it was raining Unfortunately, they did not provide any umbrellas, and the staff did not seem concerned about the situation. However, the property is in a fantastic location, and I would still recommend it for a visit. It’s worth noting that the Sri Lankan economy has been affected by political issues, which had a significant impact on the tourism industry. Many employees currently working in this sector are relatively new, which may explain some of the service shortcomings we experienced.

The hotel itself probably needs an uplift e.g. pool deck is old, pool lounge chairs are broken, walls need a new coat of paint, however we enjoyed our stay as the pool and hotel surroundings are quite nice. Food at the restaurant was surprisingly good. Room was large and air cond worked well, beds are big. Bathroom needs updating but shower was strong and good temperature. Overall, a good hotel but don’t expect 5 stars.
