We had an amazing time at Animals! We loved it here so much we doubled our stay because the place is just a dream. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. We stayed in the "budget rooms" at first, which is just 10 seconds from the pool and dining area. Even though it's called a budget room, it's spacious & very well maintained and has a lovely garden, and the rooms have a large bathroom, a dressing and a terrace. The other days we spend in the double rooms in the main building which are like you're staying inside of a Pinterest moodboard. We got the privilege to meet the Swedish couple who owns the hotel & designed it into an absolute gem. They are just the best people, we talked for many hours & went surfing with them & learned so much about Swedish & Sri Lankan life during our talks. The breakfast included has so many options tot choose from and the coffees are actually the best we had in Sri Lanka. If you would be unfortunate that there is no room available in the hotel, do yourself a favour and come have lunch or dinner, you won't be disappointed! Even though we travelled a lot and visited so much nice hotels & resorts, we never had the same experience like we had at Animals! The biggest thank you to Nalin, Samon, Anndala & Arvid for making us feel so welcome! ♥️

We had a fantastic stay in the Sky View Cabin. The cabin is beautiful, spacious, very clean and comfortable. The host gave us a warm welcome and the breakfast was incredible. Would really recommend this place to anyone staying in Unawatuna.

It was a wonderful holiday in a superb location! The hotel is located in a quiet and cozy place, very cozy, clean, with excellent breakfasts. But I would like to separately mention the owners and manager of the hotel - Samo. These are the kindest and most helpful people in all my travels and I can proudly call them my friends! It’s a good place to relax and chill. In the hotel, there are rabbits and it is especially cute how you can feed them. There also different animals like lizards and monkeys. In this hotel there is also a big pool, plenty of nature and delicious food and kind service. In every room there is an air conditioner and fan to keep comfortable temperature. Overall it is a great place to rest! If you want to go swim you have to walk or you can go by tuk tuk 🛺. The beach is clean and the water is warm, plus you can sometimes see turtles and crabs.
