Staying in Wilpattu Wildhideaway was truly an unforgettable experience. The highlight of my stay was the delicious traditional dinner served at the hotel. Anta expertly crafted local dishes that provided a delightful taste of Sri Lankan cuisine, showcasing the rich flavors and spices of the region. Additionally, the hotel's Safari experience was amazing. Anta provided valuable insights into the flora and fauna, making the safari not just an exciting journey but also an educational one. We observed sloth bear, monkeys, a lot of peacocks, other birds and lizards and buffaloes. It was unforgettable!

The location is very close to the National Park. It is only about 8 minutes by Tuk-Tuk which they kindly organised for both our safaris. Leopard Inn arranged our tour of Wilpattu National Park at a reasonable price and our onward transport. Prathap could not have been more attentive even giving us cushions for our comfort on our safari. Everything was clean, comfortable and worked as it should. The accommodations that we chose were self contained cabins beside a river. Opposite there is some building work at the moment but it did not disturb our peace. We had a take away breakfast which was adequate. The pools are tiny plunge pools and very refreshing after a day's safari

What a wonderful stay we had at Taru Villas. We booked last minute and were greeted warmly by Mark when we arrived. We quickly realised that as it was low season, we had the entire hotel to ourselves! We were upgraded to the best room on the property with a gorgeous jacuzzi overlooking the jungle. The room was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Full board was included in the room price and we enjoyed an outstanding 3 course breakfast, lunch and dinner cooked specially for us by the chef. The key highlight for us was the outstanding service and friendliness of the staff. They couldn’t do enough for us. A lovely touch at the end of our trip was that they had arranged for us to plant a tree in their gardens, and had prepared a beautiful plaque with our names inscribed. It was a truly memorable trip and couldn’t have been any better. I highly recommend to everyone!

We had such a lovely time staying here because the hosts ensured we had everything we needed and were really helpful. The food was excellent. They prepared dinner for us, provided us with a breakfast/lunch package and also helped us to organise a safari + guide. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was comfortable. We also liked the balcony with the lovely views!

Upon our arrival, we were greeted with a delicious welcome drink; the staff was super friendly and helpful. There's also an outdoor pool, accessible from morning until night, which made our experience even more magical. What can I say about the view from the room and the rooftop? It was magnificent! The restaurant was excellent, very well-maintained, and very close, and the staff was super friendly. The resort is also located very close to the natural park; the resort staff will organize a tour for you if you'd like. We decided to do a half-day tour, and they even left breakfast for us to take with us. What can I say? It was a magnificent experience, we had a wonderful time, and I absolutely recommend it!

It was very beautiful, like a small heaven :). The bungallows were very nice, large, comfortable, clean, hidden in the "forest" with a balcony where you can watch some animals. It felt almost like being alone there. It was very unique experience. The pool was large, with nice view. The kids loved it very much. Food was good and stuff was helpful. It is good to use it as a starting point for the Wilpattu safari to see western part of the park and avoid the crowds at the main gate. The hotel can organize the safari. It is also nice to walk to the lagune. It was easy to reach by tuk tuk from Puttalam (we arrived by train).

We were pleasantly surprised! This has been our best stay in Sri Lanka thus far. We hesitated at first due to the lack of reviews, but honestly, it's a diamond in the rough. Tucked into an idyllic natural setting (but keeping the many accommodations around it our of sight), the style reminds me of high-scale scandi / northern European architecture and everything is made with such good taste and kept so clean that it is hard to believe that you're coming from a dirt road. We stayed in the double bedroom upstairs, which features a beautiful wooden bedhead, great AC and ceiling fan, and the shower - the best one I've seen in my life. It's massive, open to the sky, sleek design and you can even see the view of the field ahead. Me and my boyfriend are working remotely and need speedy and stable wifi; this place has 2 routers (1:2 router-to-room ratio!) and the one upstairs worked flawlessly, even through videocalls on two laptops. Rushan, the owner, made everything easy for us - booked us a safari in Wilpattu park, prepared us breakfast to go, and booked us the driver upon check-out. A true master!
