Friendly staff willing to go the extra mile. Organised our safari for us, made special meals for my fussy eater kids and were just awesome in every way. Do yourselves a favour and stay and this beautiful hotel. They will do everything to make sure you enjoy your stay. From making sure you are conformable in your room to giving you advice on where to enjoy a meal (or preparing one for you at the hotel)

This is the most beautiful hotel we have been to in Sri Lanka. The hotel is beautifully situated, right by the lake, sitting on the terrace you can watch the sunset while having a delicious dinner (the best food we have ever eaten). The hotel is decorated with taste and class, spacious rooms, with a modern but related to the place decor. The family room we occupied is basically an apartment with two separate, beautifully decorated rooms and a spacious bathroom. It is spotlessly clean and smells beautiful. Very friendly staff and a very nice and helpful owner. We regret that we could only stay one night. We recommend it, because the place is really extraordinary!

The Best Hospitality We Ever Had They were in touch with us since the day we booked their accommodation. Host picked us from bus stop when we arrived to city. In the evening owner joined with us for a evening walk. He brought us to a place to see more than thousand fruit bats in the evening by their own vehicle. On the way back we went to see a very rare owl at a secret place. They offered us all of these free of charge and when we leaving they dropped us to the bus station also. The hospitality was amazing and the best hospitality we ever had. Absolutely they are doing more than a five stars hotel. The price also very reasonable and we couldn't understand how they offer such a service for a very cheap price. For the dinner also owner dropped us to main city by their vehicle. About the room it was very clean There is a beautiful garden with lots of flowers and fishes The place is ideal for bird lovers. Located infront of a beautiful lake with beautiful flowers. Could see crocodile also in the lake. They offered us a super fresh juice when we arrived. Again a black coffee in the evening. They packed our breakfast for the safari at 4 am. It was very helpful. We did a safari with hotel. e had the best guide and driver. He gave us lots of information about the park and animals. They recommended us the full day safari and we did. It was a correct decision. We were lucky to see two leopards and all other animals. We had a very delicious Sri Lankan Rice and Curry for the lunch with fresh fruits. Unfortunately the prices of entrance tickets increased by government few months ago. But we understood it's out of control by host and safari service. Absolutely they are the best for safari. This is the best hotel and kindful hosts we alever met on our tour.

Wow, wow, wow! This hotel is one of the best hotels I've ever been in my life. The room was amazing, the food was excellent, and the stuff were really friendly and nice. Vassa the owner is kind, and doing a great job running this place. I want also to mention Upul, one of the stuff members, he was so friendly and kind, and helped us with everything we needed. He really got in to our hearts.

As a local couple first of all I wanted to thank to the owner of this place and pubudu he not just a staff he is very familiar person. and extremely kind and 100% decent person. when I was booked there I was very particular about privacy and protection. so I can 100% guarantee to anyone who like to come there in future. because the place in owner property and their house below us. and 100% safe. and there is no security cameras in rooms. so you ll have 100% best privacy.... and regarding room view is in front of paddy field. and village view so much beautiful. and we had very good breakfast for good price and food is very hygienic. so overall everything is perfect and I forgot to tell. they have hot water as well and in the bathroom wall is very beautiful with snow mountain art. 100% I recommend this place. looks luxurious and safe specially for foreigners. to the Tip. tissamaharayama temple 5min from there

The hoster help us to organize very quickly the Yala Safari but also our depart to Ella. He investigated several bus schedules making our trip much easier. The location is great with a nice view from the balcony to the rice fields. Recomended!

    I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Kithala Thissa-Yala Resort, and it was an experience worth every moment. From the moment we arrived, the tranquil ambiance and stunning views of the surrounding paddy fields immediately set the scene for a relaxing getaway. The resort itself is immaculate, with spotless rooms and well-maintained common areas. Its proximity to the main attractions is incredibly convenient, making it an excellent base for exploring the local sights. What truly sets Kithala Thissa-Yala Resort apart, however, is the exceptional hospitality of the staff. A special shout out to Ayenaji and Surangi from the front desk, and Iresh, Janith, Gihan, Wathsala, and Pavindu from the restaurant for their outstanding service. Additionally, a heartfelt thanks to the many other sweet and most attentive hotel staff who went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was enjoyable. Their service was unmatched, combining professionalism with a warm, personal touch that made us feel right at home. Initially, we only signed up for the bed and breakfast deal, but the quality of the food was so impressive that we ended up dining at the hotel for both lunch and dinner. Every meal was delicious, showcasing a variety of local and international dishes that catered to all tastes. In summary, if you are looking for a place to unwind and soak up the natural beauty of Yala, look no further than Kithala Thissa-Yala Resort.     My exhilarating trip to Sri Lanka was an incredible experience that will always remain in my memories. The pristine landscapes and beautiful nature of this country captured my heart. However, what made this trip even more special was our stay at Laya hotel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and also the place was very comfortable and quiet at night. We happened to be there during Sinhala and Tamil new year holiday, and we decided to stay an extra night to celebrate with them. We participated in their games and festivities, and it was a great new experience. We were even honored as special guests on the second night to stay in their brand new caravan. Special thanks to the hotel general manager (Mr.Wasantha) and his deputy (Mr.Dulaj) for their hospitality.

    The architecture and the design is so tastefully done , it blends in with the environment. The staff and the service is on point, we were travelling with our 2 year old daughter. The staff collected our baby’s lactose free milk and served it back boiled punctually despite inclement weather conditions , both morning and evening. The attention to detail of our dietary requirements in all the meals is another call-out. We would love to visit here again .

You'll find plenty of local restaurants and shops, making it easy to enjoy authentic Sri Lankan experiences. It's a great spot for both adventure and relaxation, and I highly recommend spending some time here!

    Kataragama itself is a temple town and that’s pretty much it. Other than that it’s a jumping off point for safari in yala and kumana. One day is more than enough for cultural/religious aspects. The Perahara (pageant) in July is fantastic. Be warned that it may not start till midnight and may need pre booked tickets. Also watch out for pickpockets in crowded areas around this time. The country side and the rural life as well as the wildlife is fantastic and authentic. Quite hot and sunny year round but dec to feb is more comfortable.

    This place is amazing.

    This place is amazing. We stay with our 3 young kids and the staff were so kind and attentive. All of the small details have been thought of and it’s a wonderful experience in nature. Lovely local Sri Lankan are served for each meal.

    A great place to stay and would definitely recommend.

    A great place to stay and would definitely recommend. Large comfortable room close to the pool, with restaurant and plenty of cold beer. We were very well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. Anyone looking for a visit to the National Park should consider staying at Tringa and booking the tour with them as they will make sure you have a great experience.

    Weerawila, located in a dry zone of Sri Lanka, is ideal for wildlife safaris and nature experiences. This location is especially convenient during the rainy season, as it often stays dry even when the rest of the country is experiencing thunderstorms. We chose it specifically to avoid heavy rains.

    We went for leopard safari & it is in zones 5&6. Safari was excellent & saw one leopard & a bear! Hotels generally not near any restaurants so confined to your hotel for dining. Would not want more than one or two nights there.

    The owner of Serenity lake advices us to visit Yala safari, Sithul pawwa magul viharaya and sithul pawwa a super history with beautiful scenery, which we did and we're very grateful for his advice. We returned to the serenity lake to have lunch before heading off. Requested for a village kind of lunch with the local veggies and it was served on a lotus leaf... The most delicious meal it was. We had lunch at Reds and at the Serenity lake .

    I thought it was a different place to go for Safari. But, almost all vehicles come from Tissa for Safari pickup so it doesn't really matter if you book a room in Tissa or Katharagama for the Safari.

    It definitely is an experience worth trying.

    It definitely is an experience worth trying. The tree house has all the comforts you need but yet kept on the simple side. Don't expect much and you will get a lot. Nice food Bbq and big fire lit for you in the evening to give you a chance to relax and talk about your day activities. It was great to be left alone and the silence of the night. There were times you just felt that we were the only ones there and when you needed something the staff would magically appear

    We were extremely satisfied with the hotel and its beautiful surroundings. Everything exceeded our expectations. We took lots of photos & are sharing them with friends. The restaurants,Roof bar,Spa's and the pool side and pool is world class with out doubt! The service was outstanding, and that is something that can really make or break a vacation. Congratulations to the Super Proactive General Manager Mr Krishanta Damunupola and his team members to include Mr Seeman and Miss Sandani(Intern) for being so accommodating at all times with oodles of dedication. We also especially liked the super-comfy room with the balcony, bed linens which were very high quality, and felt so good to slip into each night. Thanks so much for a lovely visit.We'll be singing your praises for a long time. Thanks!
