We exceptionally liked our stay at Rebir Hotel. It has all basic features, hot shower, kitchen if you want to cook, friendly host and if you love Soviet style of a stay, it's exceptional, like a time machine. Amazing location, vintage furniture, there are type of people who are ready to pay to experience that kind of vintage style, so kindly recommend if you enjoy travelling back in history. Special thanks goes to Vasily our host, who was happy to guide us and help.

The host was very welcoming and friendly and the room was spacious,comfortable and clean.I loved the heated floor in the bathroom and the room had a fridge and a kettle.The breakfast was really delicious too.

We stoped for the night, late checking (5 a.m.), Very fast and easy checking, comfortable beds, clean, very nice lady at the reception. Parking in front of the hotel and also at the territory.

It's a Russian speaking environment and a splendid place to...
It's a Russian speaking environment and a splendid place to go to learn Russian. If you reach out there are plenty of friendly people there. It could do with a day tripper public transport travel card. But trips are only €1. Also there's no fully labelled transport map with route numbers on it. Very glad I went there.

Daugavpils is struggling economically, but has a charming and mostly well-maintained 19th century center, a fascinating multicultural character, and lovely green open spaces, including forests and a lakeshore resort area on Lake Stropu. The Mark Rothko Arts Center is a major modern art museum, and well worth a visit. Not a conventional tourist destination, and short on good hotels and restaurants, but a fascinating slice of Eastern European life and history.

A hidden gem of Latvia that is worth the visit for tourism and business alike.
There are quite many nice restaurants and bars on both side of the river while majority are located on one bank of the river but it's still worth the walk/drive to the other side.
There are many hidden attractions for tourists and local authority web page with multi language support is a great portal to rely on.
Also Daugavpils can serve as a base camp for visiting Aglona and Rezekne and the South-Eastern part of Latvia.
