The house was like a museum with the breath of old days in every corner. At the same time the bathrooms and kitchen was all up to date. We enjoyed the lake and boats. Kids loved it!

Ok so the Location is great if you have a car or bike, it a bit out of town, but it is next to a beautiful lake, So I would say it either the best location or the worst depending on you. I do not mind walking so for me it was fine. Host was very interesting and knowledgeable person.

Annaley in reception/restaurant was lovely, very welcoming and helpful. Really beautiful classic hotel in peaceful setting, Has a lot of taxidermied animals inside which is rather novel! We had a delicious dinner and buffet breakfast there. We were able to leave our bicycles inside the corridor which was great. Highly recommended.

Pleasant, but apart from the fact that it's one town in two...
Pleasant, but apart from the fact that it's one town in two countries, there is not that much to see / do. Cool to step over border and take a look at Estonian supermarket with slightly different goods, have some Estonian icecream. Liked town square on the Estonian side, a couple of monuments. Several spots for lunch / dinner, some even a bit fancy. I took a quick look during one afternoon, and the next morning took a bus to the nearby Strenci for a lovely forest walk along Gauja river.
