- From US$294.26 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 966 reviewsThe Hotel Location Was Fantastic, We were situated on the most beautiful coastline with beautiful soft white sand beaches and Turquoise ocean, surrounded by Coconut Palms & Mango Trees. The Staff And Service Were Excellent, Jennifer Lopez (Hotel Manager) was amazing she is an absolute asset to the Hotel, friendly, kind, hard-working and fantastic people skills she went above and beyond to make our holiday the most comfortable unforgettable experience. Avinash (Front Of House) from our first introduction when we arrived through to our departure was always helpful and friendly another asset to the Hotel. The Accommodation Was First Class, Photos have been uploaded to the review, the accommodation was clean modern and stylish, which was attended to daily by housekeeping. Car Park Across The Road, If you are thinking of renting a vehicle to explore the Island the car park is great with security cameras all over we found it very secure. - Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 912 reviewsPerfectly located next to the Mont Choisy Beach ⛱️ and beautiful sunset views! Possibly one of the longest stretch of uninterupted beach in Grand Baie. We opted for the halfboard option and found the 3 course dinner menu options each night was interesting and delicious! The Staff in all areas from Reception, to Restaurant & house keeping were friendly, welcoming & accommodating. I was impressed that the waiters took note of our food allergies too and remembered their throughout our trip. Avoid buying anything or booking boat trips from passing guys on the beach. Rather ask the hotel first upon your arrival. The paddle boats and clothing / food kiosks in the park or parking are fine.Guest review byDeanScottUnited Arab Emirates
- From US$850.09 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,966 reviewsThe food was amazing. The buffet and different restaurants were all amazing. Special thanks to Executive Chef David Miras for leading the team and the pianist at breakfast for the great ambiance. If you do take HalfBoat, I still recommend going to the INTI that is not included. That was the most amazing food of my live. Special thanks to the amazing music provided by Freddy (amazing guitarist and singer). Animation was also plenty and great fun. Special thanks to Kevin for the great workout, Prithvi and Yvette for their guidance, company and party fun. Final thanks to Bundhoo of housekeeping, for making our room and loved the animals he made with the towels.Guest review byRonaldSwitzerland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.4Good - What previous guests thought, 101 reviewsSmall and cosy hotel exactly what we needed before leaving paradise island. The staffs are absolutely fantastic... always ready to assist and advise. It has a Greece kind of look / vibe. Very much like staying in a cave which was a new experience for us. Entertainment during the day, evening and morning too...it's a pity we were there for a night only. Beds are very comfortable. After we checked out we were still able to use the pool which was a plus. We should have probably booked all inclusive as the food looked delicious.Guest review byChandaneeIreland

Mauritius is called by its locals as paradise island i mean everyone says amazing things about the country they originate from however the people of mauritius truly mean it when they say it, its a beautiful colourful, green and tropical country with endless miles of beaches always a stone throw away. where ever you go you see beautiful coconut trees, palm trees and mango trees and some stunning birds, colourful dragon flies and bats the nature alone is so breathtaking. the food, the locals, the price point of excursions, the weather and the beaches were literally out of this world. its a country that i would genuinely consider going again and again infact i actually cant wait to step back into mauritous and forget my blues, if your a avid diver or snorkler then mauritius is a must, we did so much in the space of 9 days from paragliding, snorking with turtles, undersea water walking, diving, water sking, off road riding using ATVs/quad bikes, watched horse racing, zip lining, shopping in there vibrant colourful markets, visiting historical sites that were rich with history and different cultures, eating out local street food and world class cuisines for very little money. super affordable and what a beautiful hidden gem of a country. family and myself were completely blown away by it to the point we are rethinking ever going back to places like dubai over beautiful tropical natural countries like mauritius. we also had a friendly parrot that would visit us daily and gladly sit amongst us without being scared or shy and share some food with us.Guest review byImranUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Great for relaxation. Beautiful, serene, welcoming.
Great for relaxation. Beautiful, serene, welcoming. Splendid for scuba divers or paddle boarders. Practically zero night life. Careful: too many dangerous dogs roaming around everywhere in Mauritius (not just on this beach) make nightly walks ghastly and horrifying - I got attacked multiple times! I had to fight for my safety and health and fend the feral beasts off! That’s a harrowing experience you don’t want on your holiday. The government should tackle this serious problem ASAP!Guest review byJuraj GerbelSlovakia - 10.0

There are 3-4 notable restaurants, up to 5 street food options. winner's has everything you need. The beach is very good, if it was crystal clear that would be dreamy. Sunday evening (confirmed from a local, it's happening every week) a bit loud, a bit different than others. Difficult to eat outside because of the high volume.Guest review byMutluTurkey - 10.0

Balaclava is not the most lively part of Mauritius which suited us perfectly. It consists mostly of vegetable fields, forests and small hamlets. The coast is getting developed with hotels but each is keeping its space so it doesn't feel crowded. You need to rent a car or get a taxi to visit the nearest town, Pamplemousses. There you have the old sugar factory, botanical gardens and a very pleasant shopping mall with a food supermarket.Guest review byCzech girlCzech Republic - 10.0
Short tips: Take your meds for allergies.
Short tips: Take your meds for allergies. I had a allergy day 1 and it really spoils the fun. The nurse Sarista is really amazing there but you don't want to struggle. TAKE MEDS to prevent. Pack your running shoes. The gym is GREAT or go for a jog, because you eat a lot. Bring a digestive and or something for indigestion and heartburn. You eat a LOT! Don't forget your SPF. Dress up clothes for the evenings. You would want to look smart at dinner. There is something about the events and atmosphere at night.Guest review byZonikaSouth Africa - 8.0

The beach of Mon Choisy is a long sunny sandy beach nice for swimming. During October to March it is hot there but the sea is great for swimming. However during these months some cyclones may also visit the Island ! Other months are also sunny and the climate are cooler around 24c during the day. In weekdays the beach is calm and it is not crowded. However during Sundays and public holidays locals are there and it is very crowded but as it is a long beach there is still some space for everyone. On Sundays expect loud music from loudspeakers by some picknickers though there is law about it but it is rarely respected. There are also many stray dogs on the beach but they are not aggresive.Guest review byHooben TOUSSAINTMauritius - 4.0
It was a disappointment from day one.
It was a disappointment from day one. After we realized that the proposed and booked room didn’t match reality, (had no kitchenette, no private entrance and no fireplace) . Hotel staff was ok, but not great. Recorded two incidents where dead insects where at the dining area and beside food at the open kitchen in the restaurant. General manager never spoke with us, staff apologized and gave us an upgrade to all inclusive from our half board booking (breakfast and Dinner). Overall an ok experience but clearly no 5 stars. More like 3 stars. We also stayed at Le meridien in Dubai, which is a different league and much much better and customers friendly than Mauritius. We were happy when we left the place in Mauritius and won’t recommend Le Meriden there to anyone.Guest review byMarkusSwitzerland - 10.0

The location was ideal, the weather in the North was great during winter week. The duplex is location is just right. Not often you will have one that gives you direct access to the beach which makes this one desirable.Guest review byShahineUnited Kingdom - 8.0
An ideal spot away from the bustle of Grand Baie.
An ideal spot away from the bustle of Grand Baie. Perfect for couples. There is a large public beach a few minutes walk away which has all the local facilities. Beach shacks selling local food and fresh fruit juices. The local people were all very friendly and the taxi rank nearby was ideal for planning trips.Guest review byVeraUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Roches Noires is a nice place.
Roches Noires is a nice place. Keep in mind that in our summer (july / august) it is winter over there and the east coast will have a constant breeze (up to 4 BFT). Having a rental car we found that almost all of the days we would drive to the west or south coast as there is no wind on that side during their winter.Guest review byMarkNetherlands
