The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, they greeted us immediately and helped us get situated. They were able to accommodate three rooms together which made it so much easier for us to enjoy the hotel as a family. We would go back in a heartbeat. It was well located with a vehicle, the breakfast was delicious and the staff were exceptional.

What a wonderful hotel. The room with its nature accents was so calming and peaceful. There are a lot of wellness activities on offer and lounges in the gardens to relax in nature. My room had a separate bedroom/bathroom space to the lounge/wardrobe/desk/maxi bar section. Room had new pine furniture and a big wine/mini bar fridge. The room also had a wellness basket filled with a bathrobe and towels. I recommend booking in for the dinner buffet at the on-site restaurant. I wish I stayed for more nights

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Cologne! The room was really lovely and cosy - black out curtains, quiet, very comfortable bed. Definitely purchase the breakfast, it’s very varied and tasty, and for a good price. The hotel manager was exceptionally friendly and kind. Highly recommend!

The dom cathedral is impressive . The museum worth a visit . Getting a guide is good to learn facts . Christmas markets are lively and abundance of food . Not so fun in the rain ! Lots of beggars everywhere and homeless people which is sad to see . Outside of the Christmas markets and the cathedral area it is quite run down and dirty . Few nice bars about open late , mostly Irish . Kolsch beer nice . Some table service is very blunt ..! Keep some euros on you as you have to pay to pee even if you have eaten in the restaurant !

Airport is awful.

Airport is awful. Starting from the long walks to immigration, long waited in queues to stamp my passport for over an hour, hostile attitude from passport control staff asking lots of aggressive & unjustified questions despite having a multi entry visa for 4 years on my passport that have been used multiple times in EU including Dusseldorf that I visit on yearly basis! Apart from shopping and nice food, no real attractions to see or visit in Dusseldorf! most of the places are in Kolon

Checked in on the Friday and visited the Signal Iduna Park...

Checked in on the Friday and visited the Signal Iduna Park for their game against Leverkusen,then visited the zoo on Saturday and spent Sunday walking around the centre and the national football museum. Everyone is friendly and getting around is easy with the tubes and buses.

Great exhibition halls at Messe Essen, for annual classic car show. Shopping is good with large shopping centre in town. Lots of restuarants and eating places. Dusseldorf within travelling distance and airport easily reached.

We loved Münster and its people.

We loved Münster and its people. Everyone was chilled and very civilised. It was a vibrant place to visit with a pretty re-built centre. The city is surrounded by a ring of green cycle/walkways. And the bike is KING! We coincided our visit with the Send fair and the spectacular autumn fireworks.

Bonn has not been bombed during WWII, therefore it has the largest well-conserved late 19th century urban area in Germany (Suedstadt). To be mentioned also, the Poppelsdorf Schloss and its wonderful restaurant situated within the Botanical Garden, the Poppelsdorfer Allee and the beautiful Rhine promenade in easy reach.

Aachen is a lovely city with plenty of sights to see both...

Aachen is a lovely city with plenty of sights to see both within and in the neighbouring areas. A trip to the nearby Kupferstadt Stolberg (Kupferstadt = copper town) and it's castle, with multilingual displays, would be a good addition to many a sightseeing list. Be sure to locate the van den Daele Cafe to experience the wonderful cakes (and they do a decent breakfast and other meals, too - consider booking in advance). The historically-minded may find Aachen's Roman ruins and connection to Charlemagne interesting (enjoy spotting the figures on buildings and symbols in the pavements). More recently in history there are several areas outside the city where remnants of the Westwall (Siegfried Line) can be found. During Christmas Aachen has an excellent Wiehnachtsmarkt (Christmas Market), with stalls in several locations.

Definitely not a 4-star hotel.

Definitely not a 4-star hotel. First of all, the room lacked basic amenities: no safe for valuables, no closet for clothes, no phone to contact reception, and not even a simple shower cap. A lot of rooms have broken AC and broken lights in the bathroom. Reception people are very slow and helpless. You need to walk from 4th floor to ground floor if any issues as no phone to call reception. They say call on mobile but as foreigner people we must pay for call which is ridiculous because they do not provide service that should be. Do not follow up on what promissed to guests. At checkout, they offered a 20% refund due to all the inconvenience, but we never received it, and no one responded to follow-up messages when we approached them about when we get refund back. Extremely unprofessional. We will never return and will strongly advise others to avoid this place.

The Christmas market in Duisburg is excellent.

The Christmas market in Duisburg is excellent. The locals are friendly and helpful and the city centre has a wide variety of good shops, restaurants and pubs. We particularly liked Cafehaus Dobbelstein in Sonnenwall 8, the Hellas Greek Restaurant on Poststrasse and the Konig City pub in Dusseldorfer Strasse. The railway, Bus and tram stations are on the hotel’s doorstep and the staff in the nearby Tourist Information and travel ticket offices are extremely helpful.
