For breakfast, there was something to suit everyone’s taste. Plenty of areas around to sit and relax and the hotel offered luggage storage at no extra cost.

First about hospitality ... It was our first time in Norway and as our plane was delayed we arrived very late in the evening; though Bridget (our host) was waiting for us in the door. The property proved to be ideal for starting our exploration in the land of fjords and glaciers. Furthermore Bridget told us all relevant information about places to visit so, basing our schedule on this, we succeeded to see lots of interesting and marvelous places during our short stay.
The room, though not large, was cosy and comfortable. Breakfast, served in a large and nice kitchen, was varied, based on local products and very tasty. We could park our car just across the street which made it very easy to start over next morning.
We got the feeling of living in a real Norwegian home.

We were booked into the motel but when we checked in which is via the hotel receprion we were told that we had been upgraded to the hotel as they had overbooked the motel.
WOW, WOW, WOW what a beautiful hotel, very grand and the furnishings are unbelievable.
So much history, if you do stay in the motel make sure you visit the hotel and look at all the rooms on the ground floor.
We were so happy had a front room overlooking the lake.
Thanks so much for the upgrade.

Marit and Björn were wonderful hosts! Very caring and helpful - it was a pleasure talking with them every time we met. The cottage was very clean. The kitchen is well-equipped and the bed was very comfortable. The terrace is one of the highlights with stunning views of the surrounding areas. Great hikes in the vicinity and Gudvangen is only a 15-minute drive away from where you can take the ferry to flam. I highly recommend this place!

In a quaint village in Hardanger, lies this hotel with a long history of taking care of travelers and we were in luck to stumble upon the place in May - and we were truly positively surprised and would love to come back!

The overwhelmingly phenomenal view to grass, waterfalls, mountains and glaciar formations.
Beds were super comfy, everything super clean, breakfast with a lot of quality, super helpful and always available staff. I wish the management a lot of success, they work really hard and you can tell.

Wonderful spot right by a beautiful waterfall. The rooms were clean. You need to ask for kitchen utensils and remember to have a 10 NOK coin for a shower. Duvets and pillows are provided and you can buy temp covers from reception.

Voss is very easy to reach by train or bus, and it's very well connected. There's a cable car to whisk you up the mountain, and from there there are walking paths over the fells, and to ski lifts. There's also plenty of nice places to walk in the town and buses to take you to more remote places to walk. The town has some nice places to eat and drink, but it isn't overly touristy. It's an excellent base for visiting Sognefjord and Flåm -- I did a nice circuit on train, ferry and bus and packed a huge amount of gorgeous landscapes into a day.

We had planned a 5 day trip by staying in Myrkdalen and exploring Flåm and around. We did drive everyday which was a bit hectic. One or two extra days with relaxing and hiking locally would have been better.

It was a charming and cozy hotel with good breakfasts and a scenic lake nearby. A true salvation for us on our way to Flåm and beyond. It’s a great pit stop between some of the most popular destinations like Flåm and others — and I think this hotel is just right. Highly recommended for travelers seeking a comfortable and pleasant stay rather than luxury.

The view is the only amenity.
The view is the only amenity. Dinner was awful but you have no other options as hotel is very secluded. We were told before the trip that there were great hiking trails from the hotel but when we asked the front desk, there was only one road to walk down to see some waterfalls in the distance. So no actual hiking trails.

The place is very beautiful, I like it even more then Flåm. Roads 7and 49 are spectacular I just hope that one day they will be more friendly as they are very narrow and in high season it's a test to drive there.

Nice place, good breakfast, employees spoke English fairly well and were nice. Very good location on the lake. Recommend requesting a room away from the elevator as it’s extremely loud and will keep you awake if you don’t have ear plugs.

We booked a triple room and it was allocated in another building; which little away from main building with reception. Seemed like it was a make-shift arrangement to accommodate the booking. Building was in pathetic condition and sounded like no one had stayed there in last few months (may be a year).
* No WiFi at all - we repeatedly requested but we got only false commitment that someone will come and fix it. But nothing happened
* No TV (they had TV but not way to plug the power). How someone can fix the TV at the spot where you can not get the power?
* Surprisingly room was very cold, I don't know may be due to leakage or may be its due to located in the basement or something else (although it was July).
* Very basic breakfast options with very limited options and we had to ask the staff for every single thing such as milk, bread etc.
* Staff seemed confusing, with no idea what to help with or no motivation to help perhaps.
Overall the stay was like a punishment.. One could get better options for the rate we paid. This hotel lacks even a very basic amenities.

Voss is clearly the sporting capital of Norway whether it is Summer or Winter. Everything is in easy reach.
Hotel was adjacent to the Gondola, Railway Station, Tourist information centre & close to lake & town. Our stay was in a traditional room with view of the lake. Perfect blend of traditional and modern. It had the singularly most advanced en-suite facilities I have ever used. Japanese technology & German manufacturing. Wonderful balcony for a couple to relax in. Room size was to USA standard with seating for 5, writing bureau, 55 inch TV, etc.
Swimming Pool with personal lockers. Didn’t use the restaurant but bar meals were good with range of local beers. A number of individual reception rooms for quiet times, reading or family discussion. Staff are efficient & welcoming.
